So it's been about 12 years or so since I've painted any miniatures. I've been painting custom toys on a commission basis for the last 3 or 4 years now and a friend of mine has been slowly getting me back in the mood to paint miniatures. He had a carnifex that he left at my house (excuse the poor gluing. He put it together and I tried to take it apart and could feel it snapping so I figured it best to just leave it be), so I decided to paint it up. Still a long way to go, but let me know what you guys think. Also just ordered a squad of space wolves to start painting.

Tried my hand at some wet blending tonight and got the teeth work going along with the tongue and eyes. I think this guy's coming along nicely. Thinking about putting a wash over the tusks after they dry.

check my blog in the sig if you ever want to proxy your carnifex for a tervigon, cause thats the only reasonable thing to do with this kit/ magnatize the birthing butt and hit torso legs and you can swap them out...or commit to the tervigon and have a swarm of gaunts

I don't play tyranids. This is my friend's piece, he doesn't even play just likes the models and sometimes I'll paint them up for him

OH WOW! That looks really sharp! I do love the effect you have on your 'tusks' I agree with bigfish though, the crushing claws need, something, maybe a little more 'grey highlights' or something to bring it out more. From the side, it looks great but from the front and top, it feels like its lacking. Not sure how to do it though, other than that holy frak just awesome!

Thanks guys. Definitely see what you mean with the claws in the photo. In person they are wet blended from a black to a lighter grey in the middle and then final white high lights on the ridges. I know it's hard to see so I think I'm going to take your suggestions and repaint them.
