RTT Update from this past week end. The ladies had another great showing this week its going to be a little tough to explain this so ill post my list now and do the explination in the BR that follows. It actually ended up being more like play 3 games in a row VS a real RTT. Still I finished with the Top record of 2 major wins and Tie.

Game 1 Orks.

1 warboss on bike w power claw

10 Nobz on bikes w power claws and a pain boy

4 large boyz squads 2 in battle wagons 1 with Bigmek KFF

3 Kanz


Mission: C&C 2 objectives, Standard 12inch deployment Ork wins roll off

His objective is placed on the left side of the board in a piece of terrain. I place mine dead center in a piece of terrain.

He deploys everything large boyz squad sitting in terrain on his Objective. Battle wagons front and center kans to the left and a foot boyz squad to the right. Nobz and war boss are way on the right flank. Ok cool. So I deploy both Retributor squads in front of my objective in the terrain. On the Right flank I place Repentia squads and the PEs and I then Castle all my Tanks on the left flank. Dominions are in front with a sisters squad in between them next rank of tanks is BSS Uriah BSS. Dominions Scout forward and blow smoke.

I choose not to steal and let turn 1 start.

Kanz advance and shoot. 1 hit smoked away. Battle with no Mek turns toward the dominions lining them up to get rolled the Big Mek Battle wagon roles forward now taking the bubble of the kans and the other battle wagon? Yeah, not sure why he did that but hey whatever. Warboss and Nobz come barreling towards my objective. Boyz move forward towards my objective. No Assaults

Bottom of turn 1 Dominions move forward and disembark. 1 BSS squads moves 6 inches towards my OBJ while the others advance 6 towards the dominions to support them Uriah and the Bomb scream forward 12 pulling up right behind the Dominions. Repentia and PEs move towards the Nobz so I have all of them run. I have 5 faith so I burn 4 and hold 1 for hand to hand 2 going on the Doms and 2 going on the Rets. I manage to get 2 twin-links while the Rets fail.

The Immolator connects with the closest battlewagon it blows up taking half the orks inside with it. The first dominion squad destroys 2 kans while the second squad finishes of the last Kan. My second immolator connects with the battle wagon. But he ignores it. Retributors fire on the Nobz doing 8 wounds that were either cover saved or FNP away. BSS storm bolter flurry kills a couple more orks. I then roll a 6 for fleeting on my first squad of Repentia and a 3 for the other on. PEs run 6 inches also. I am able to connect with 3 Nobz with my Repentia but end up not getting everyone in combat. 1 ends up out of the combat, well that kind of sucks but he is Power Klawed from top to bottom except for the pain boy. I burn my faith just in case the Painboy connects with something I don’t want to lose anyone.

Luck has it I hit with every single attack including the 4 from the mistress against his squad. I was also able to do 11 wounds to him. He didn’t have cyborg bodies so a bunch of Nobz bit it. On the punch back he decimates the squad but instead of consolidating forward he moves back toward his lines. The PEs were the next in line to hit the squad and I don’t think he wanted to see the rest of his nobz take that kind of beating. The second squad of Repentia were right on the heels of the first so he knew he was going to have to deal with them also.

Sisters OBJ 0 – Orks OBJ 1

Top of 2 Nobz pull forward again this time positioned shot at the squad of Repentia but not be charge by the PEs. This now put the Boyz on foot closest to the PEs. They manage to kill 1 after some great FNP and 6 sixes on the invuls. The big meK swings his battle wagon around and proceeds to smash into an immolator that get wrecked and stops the Def-roller. The remaining boys on the ground are pined into a wreck but between there shooting and the shooting coming from the battlewagon they manage to kill of 2 domnions which break. This makes them run through the wreckage of their immolator. All of them made it. But they were now standing on the wreckage. The Nobz assault into the Repentia and that is the only thing he assaults. Well it didn’t go his way. By the End of the combat the Warboss and the Mistress Repentia are standing there the warboss only has 2 wounds left and all of the Nobz are gone, mind you all of my Repentia are dead also. The warboss gets locked in combat with her.

Bottom of 2 I move the PEs into striking range of Boyz squad but don’t fire my Flamers cause I want the consolidation move. Uriah and the Bomb jump out and thread the needle between a dominion squad immolator and a wreck to make it so I’m in a line to assault against the remaining boyz in the crater of the battlewagon or the big Meks wagon. BSSs move onto OBJ and the other two move 6 and start shooting.

Yes I know I have lined up a dominion squad DCA squad and Immolator to ma ground into dust on his turn if I don’t blow it up in my shooting phase. And as the Dice Gods would have it well, 2 twin linked penetrating melta gun shots, 1 twin linked penetrating MM shot 2 penetrating Hunter Killer shots and 2 Rended Heavy bolter Penetrating shots later its missing 2 weapons, and can still move and shot…

I hold the DCA squad from assaulting hoping to pop it when he hits me on the next movement phase with a death or glory. As for the Boyz squad they took the PEs head on. After doing 15 wounds to them PowerKlaw steps up and punches one and it becomes immobilized. Needing to role a 4 for moral he roles a 3 and stays in combat with me. I just smile and so ok.

Sisters OBJ 1 – Orks OBJ 1

Top of 3. Here comes the battle wagon rolling toward the dominion squad. Out steps a lone Meltagun Sister and BLAM through the def-roller into the driver, threw the crew. The squad takes 6 wounds. All die except the lone melta gun girl. Who then proceeds to fail her moral and run away. 2 thirds of the orks make it out of the explosion but are out of assault range of the DCAs so they hunker down in the crater. Shooting the DCA squad. 4 wounds 3 3++ invuls and 1 FNP and the squad is fine. Staring the orks down he makes the wise choose to stay in the crater.

The PEs finishes off the Boyz squad and consolidates toward the now cratered squad of boyz. The mistress then swings at the war boss hits 3 times 4 ,5, 5 and Wounds him twice with 2 6’s. The warboss is dead and the mistress now consolidates 1 inch.

Bottom of 3 Seraphim decide they want to come in. Well there is only one place I want them now. That is right beside his objective staring down the 20 man boyz squad that is on it. I scattered 3 inches away but in just as good position as it was diagonal to the unit and not straight back. 4 faith, I use 1, Seraphim get their re-roll wounds off. I hit the squad 50 times and wound with 30 flamer attacks. The squad disappears.

The assault phase comes with the Uriah bomb assaulting into the crater, splitting attacks and the whole squad and big mek are gone after words. By the end of turn 3 there are 4 boys left on the table we call it.

So are repentia on foot? Or are they snagging someone's ride?

I recently played against repentia for the very first time at a local tourney. Shot at them with an annihilation barge and then fried 8 of them (even with cover!). Lol.

You've got to be super sneaky to pull off foot Repentia. They die horribly to a stiff breeze. Even if you do get the charge off, you have to make sure they hit something that doesn't have many attacks (or at least strikes at Init 1 as well). You really have to pick your targets and ultimately I'd have to imagine that they're best used for counter charges which really underscores how far away GW's design team is from the reality of the game. You actively have to fight their intended use in order to use them effectively.

Nicely done. Did you remember to have the Uriah Bomb strike last when it multi'd the Big Mek and Boys squad in the crater at the end of the game?

Bet that ork player wasn't expecting a 6" fleet from those Repentia. Lol 18" threat range is nothing to laugh at.

Absolutely brutal. That's why I love Seraphim. They can drop in out of nowhere and put out just a silly amount of wounds.

Tabled in 3? Very nice. It looks like you had some friendly dice, but it's still quite an achievement.

Yeah the boyz killed 1 DCA and Uriah had taken a wound before it even started.. I split 1 DCAs and 2 crusaders in the Big MeK and the rest of the squad went into the boys.

THIS. The first time I used a Conclave it was all DCAs and I charged a 20 strong boyz mob in a forest, forgetting that I didn't have grenades. I think I lost 3 before they swung and then just evaporated the mob. I expected a disaster, but it turns out that DCAs w/ FNP are pretty tough and Orks don't like to be charged.

I largely agree with the first bit - you don't want Repentia getting shot, it's just a waste for them to die while making their way towards their targets, and there are too many weapons that bypass FnP. Hence my use of stolen transports.

The second point is a lot less true in my experience. If you are running min. squads stick to tank hunting, but a good size squad has very little to fear. The 6++ with FnP is roughly as effective as a 3+ save, and they hit back FAR harder than most units. Assuming you hit something with 8 repentia, you don't make your faith roll, and they kill half of your force before the girls can swing, you will STILL win combat statistically against MEQ's (5 kills on average from 4 Repentia on the charge, having lost 4 yourself). And I have rarely lost 4 Repentia on the charge. It's weird how everyone can accept that a Tactical or Ork unit is just a bunch of useless wounds around a Power fist, and then get nervous about a unit where all the wounds padding your powerfist ALSO have powerfists (or rather, chainfists. And fleet.).

Really large Ork squads, massed power weapons, stubborn power weapon heavy blobs and some SC's make Repentia nervous (well, they would if Repentia weren't lunatics). But it's not that tough to drop them a good distance away from those kinds of units. For the most part, you really *don't* have to pick your targets. And hitting back with dead girls is just gravy if rage does drag you into something they can't handle well.

I guess what I don't understand is why you some players just get them blown off the board? Don't get me wrong by turn 5 if I have any I'm happy. For the most part they usually have killed there points back or double. One of my squads is about 150 pntsish if i can remember right. Most MCs cost that by them selves if not more.

How did the repentia ace the Nob Bikers? Aren't they only S6, or are they S8 now? I'm not familiar with the new SoB codex! Inquiring minds want to know!

Enough S6 blow through Nob bikers when they all hit (I believe he said that). Then he just has to wound on a 3+. No cybork on those nobs.

I guess that's my point. I run 2 squads of them, the PEs plus a BC. So which one would you do it too now?

Meanwhile you are still looking at 2 Dom squads 4 to 6 melta guns and 2 TW MMs and a Seraphim squad that is going to jump into you backfield next turn.

Killed in 2 turns, it took both squads to do it but all and all ill take that trade off any day. What hurt him was everything was at Int 1 im not kidding myself about that its the only reason I went after them with the Repentia. I choose to throw them at the squad because I just wanted to delay them till the PEs could close on them. I new that they wouldn't stand a chance against 2 PEs on the charge. Ended up not needing them to do that.
