Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

No airbrushes here, just big ol' brushes:

So, how you guys get that effect using only brushes? Well tinned paints, big brushes and lots of layers?

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

LOL. Thanks for the kind words. It really is all brush, as I don't have an air brush set up. Here's the break down:

Base coat with UM Blue
Wash with Asurman Blue
Dry brush (heavy) with UM Blue
Dry brush (light) with Shadow Grey on edges and center areas of large flat areas
Edge highlight with with 50/50 mix of UM Blue and SW Grey

The metallics were the traditional dry brush of Bolt Gun Metal over black base coat.

I don't use an airbrush with anything, though if I learnt how to it'd probably make some things quicker.

I've never used an airbrush, and handbrushing can look very clean and pretty, it just takes practice and patience.

In my 15 years of painting this stuff, Ive probably painted. 8 rhino chasis, 6 trukks, 5 hammerheads/devilfish, monolith, two landraiders, chimera, Leman russ, scratchbuilt battlewagon, a few landspeeders.

It all just takes practice and you get better as you go.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

Argh... so many good ones... I need to finish mine so I can post them! Also, there's a Vostroyan doing some work in another thread and he's doing it by hand. It's pretty epic. I won't steal his glory, by posting his own pics, but here's his thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/370649.page

I find it weird that a hand-painted tank in a hand-painting tank thread is considered spam, but I'm weird like that, I guess?
