[code]Hey dudes.

I converted and painted an Ork version of the King Raven, featured in Gears of War. It was for last years 40k doubles at Warhammer World. Our team was the "Gears of Waaagh"

Also painted but not featured on the thread are the Gears... Ork Nobz. I'll post them in a few weeks when I get the pictures sorted.

I'm not to happy with the quality of the pics but hopefully you'll like the orKing Raven!

CC welcome...

Thanks dudes!

A Battlewagon, open topped! It has 4x Rokkits and a Zzap Gun! My opponents are generous enough to ignore the fact that it stands on a flying base thankfully!

In future games i've considered using the warkopta rules from the FW books but I like the av 14 too much!

Thats amazing!!!

I think I found next project.

"Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Great I think it would have looked really impressive with the Twin Rotor design from the King Raven, but other than that it's pretty perfect.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Rule of cool, and that is with out a doubt a cool model. I am also curious of how your made it.

Thanks dudes, I really appreciate the positive feedback!

I found a Sea King helicopter at an appropriate scale, moved the landing gear sponsons forward and bashed on the battlewagon grill and went from there.

It the pride and joy of my ork force.

Love the rule of cool... I should use that more often!

Thats again for all the nice things you've said dudes, makes it all worth while.

And this may sound odd, but if you built more, and played them as Battlewagons too, and built smaller ones based on the trukk......then heck, if you wanted, you could have a whole force of Orks that used helicopter transports. They would play as the usual, but just look way cooler. ^.^

It's not odd really, especially if I had a full on Coalition of Orky Goodness (COG), unfortunately I've only got 10 Georks!

I've made a looted wagon with a Killkannon that called the Centork! Its not on the same level as the orKing Raven though!

If you look at a larger version of that picture, you will see it has two rotors in a coaxial configuration.

Not saying it ruins the model or anything, it's just a design I personally like and would have liked to see.

I agree with the idea of the all "Choppa" force.

Got ya, I thought you were referring to the Chinook style twin rotor blade chopper in Gears 3! (Or was it the Shadow of Raam? can't remember now)

I love it! -Extremely orky indeed!

however, I would suggest you break up the grey of the hull with some weathering or different shades of grey/blue-grey on separate pieces that are riveted together. I would love to see more gears of waagh stuffs
