Just about ready to paint now. This has been brewing a while. There is a LOT of reinforcement in that titan (and yes, it is entirely supported by that back leg).
To clarify - I was commissioned to do this piece with a pretty open spec ('Guard, 'Nids, Big ol' honkin' titan), it's being entered under my name in GDUK. Not sure if diorama or open yet. :-)

Two of the Gothic Ruin corners that came in the 3rd edition 40k box. They were available seperately for a while, not sure if they are currently. I have a few in the bitz box.

What's happening with the pins coming out of the top of the shoulders, winterdyne?

They're overlong so I can remove them to unmount the weapons for painting. I'll trim them to length once everything's done and I'm gluing the torso and weapons together. Currently the model is just pinned together: front and back torso halves, head, weapons (and cables), support leg and hips, dangling leg.

Edit: 3 pins per weapon, dropped into the holes, gravity does the rest in keeping the weapon in place. Means I can just trim them, drop them in, then flood the joint with epoxy from the top (through the big hole) and all should be gravy.

Already the diorama has an amazing dynamic about it. Very few Titans are actaully functioning when you see them....this one definitely is possesed by the machine spirit! So far the display and presentation is absolutely fantastic! Are you planning to paint the base with all the smaller characters on it? That might be a tough task.

Nice diorama, by the way - don't think I said that the first time.

I must admit, I'd've been tempted to have the Warhound about the Jonny Wilkinson that Carnifex off the battlefield...

Hmm - if they did the right parts for a Reaver (namely a Titan Power Fist for each arm), you could have one going for a drop goal...

I don't think this one is crazy, I'm just wondering where his scouting partner is...

Very funky stuff!

What will you be painting first? I really can't wait to see what you do with this bad-boy.

I tend to work from the ground up, so it'll be the basework first, then the nids and guard, then the titan itself.

Wow, if only I had the money to set up a diorama like this!

I shall start small and aspire to this greatness!

Just "WOW'!
I'm impressed beyond flowery words!
I do have a question. Is it removable from the base?
Or would you use it with the diorama in a game?

The titan will be removable for transport. It'd be simple enough to build a gaming base for it and slot it into that for games.

Groundwork painted. Small models just placed back on to help with where to put foliage, tufts, brass etch etc. The 'nid side' of the diorama will be significantly overgrown, jungle-esque, whereas the ruins will be in the process of being reclaimed by hyperactive plant growth.

Mostly, on my phone.

Wowser. Great work - and nice use of an ikea lazy Susan the little details are particularly dynamic, like the fallen guardsman with the knife just slipping out of his hand. Just fab all round.
