Beauty! Always happy to see finely painted Dreadfleet pieces on the forum.

If I were you though I;d consider highlighting the hull-By the looks of the hull from the picture it doesn't look highlighted. Albeit, you've still done the model justice.

Yeah I stand guilty as charged! I didn't take too much time on the hull, only recessed work; rushed it for the sails. I will look to improve the hull.

Question: did you assemble your Dreadfleet ships before painting them? A lot of the professional painters on Dakka have made comments to the effect that several of the ships, notably the Heldenhammer and the Other one (forget the name, the opposing capital ship) are extremely difficult, perhaps even impossible, to paint once glued.

Whether this means impossible to paint full stop, or impossible to paint to a professional standard was not made clear!

No I always try to paint then build models because of detailing becoming so intricate! The Dreadfleet ships are lovely but seriously horrible to build! Many parts do not fit at all well! If you build then paint, you are going to miss places regardless of level of paint job!
