Hi all,

I am intending on starting a White Scars army soon and am torn between 3 Predators or 3 Vindicators. Both work out at the same cost, so instead of choosing, I was thinking of trying to magnetise a Predator so as to make it interchangeable to a Vindicator. However I don't know if this is possible, particularly with regards the Demolisher Cannon and Siege Shield attaching to the front.

I was hoping someone would have picks of the sprue, or the instructions, or some means of seeing how the front of the Vindicator is put together? Better still, if anyone has tried this same sort of thing, I would love to see pics of how it was done and how it turned out also, to help me along.

Thanks in advance,
GM.

odd suggestion - but why not put the LR Demolisher turet on the top instead?

Might be simpler and you can say the turret is locked into place.

Search the Interwebz for "The Manufactorum".
There are walkthroughs for the Predator kit on there.

I've bought from him before, but search Dakka before you think of doing so yourself.
The tutorials are golden, though

believe it or not a vindicator and predator with both hold themselves together if you glue the right pieces together. glue the two pieces for each side together and glue the tracks to them and thats about it!. my vindicator is assembled this way and the only "problem" i have with it is the back door opens all the time. big whoop right? when i lose the cannon i literally take it out and replace it with the rhino windshield, leave the armor and siege shield and get back to the game. when it blows up, i pull the whole thing apart and leave it on the table as a wreck. people LOVE it! ^_^ im never going to glue another tank together if i cant help it

ill post some pics if you like

This is a very good suggestion. Might be a slight tactical disadvantage as I lose 2-3" of range, but for how handy it would be it would be easily overlooked.

Looking for the Vindicator picture, not the Predator.

Considered how radically different they are put together, you might not be able to do it. For example the vindicator has a totally different construction compared to the predetor.

It's do-able tbh. If you cut away the "doors" on the vindi's armored sides (or just don't use them at all) & build the pred/rhino front plate as normal & then countersink some magnets into A: the deck itself where the louvers are on back, B: the vent fans & C: half of pred/RB turret plate (trim around the turret collar), D: into the hull of the rhino to hold doors/sponsons on & E: the predator sponsons themsleves. It'd take some work, but it could be done.

I think the LRBT "Demolisher" turret/cannon has some merit, should fit fine in a predator turret ring and it'll look pretty cool. Just put it down as a new pattern of Vindicator and stick a big shield on the front.

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn

This is definitely my prefered method so far.Would be different looking too. Would be easy to magnetise the side panels to allow the Siege Shield to be put on.

Plus, I have Guard allies in the list, so it would a cool kind of hybrid model between the two armies.

Shouldn't cost you too much either, I know Hoard O' Bits and a few other places sell the Demolisher kit turrets for fairly reasonable prices. Especially compared to a brand new predator or vindicator

Dufus, (great name btw) is that magnetized anywhere, or just friction fit?

I am seriously considering the same for my marine army, and its not really to save cost as much as it is to save storage...

thanks for sharing!!!!

Might want to eventually make one with magnets or something. If it relies on friction it may wear the paint a bit. Still makes it interesting if it gets blown up or something.
