I was trying to stay clear from the cartoonishly bright colouring that normally goes with fists, how ever i feel i might have lost the colour a little too much...

Nice and neat, would suggest a slightly more 'yellow' yellow however. Though I like the muted tones.

Appears to be solid, the basing is awesome, I love it.

Yeah, it looks more orange than yellow, or maybe ochre is the term.

It still looks good, though. A black wash on the assault cannon barrels wouldn't hurt. There isn't much shading between the barrels.

I actually really like the colors, if I where you maybe add a yellow shoulder pad to help distinguish them as Imperial Fists. Other than that I love the orange with yellow highlights. Also the base goes great with the model

It's a nice mini (kudos for drilling out all the gun barrels!) but it doesn't really "read" as an imperial fist to me, it's too dark. I don't know if it's just the photo, but it looks like a dark brownish ochre rather than actual yellow. I wouldn't guess it was an IF if I looked at it with no context

The paintjob is solid, though, I like it. The only thing I don't like is the base - unpainted bases are really glaring to me.

It's nice paint, but IF's are waaaaaaaaaay more yellow.

Looks pretty good. I would try a yellow with a small amount of brown. The amount of brown you add though is very minimal otherwise it gets too dark.

Also the Dark Angels icon looks a bit odd on the banner, not sure if it was your intention to put it there.

agreed, really the only thing I would suggest is it looks like your highlight lines are thicker on the front of the model then on the back, I think the highlights on the back with a skinny line look better

If you want to keep the darker yellow look but want more colour, try and give it a glaze of lamenters yellow. It should make him a lot more yellow, whilst still being dark

Nice model but it doesnt really look imperial fists, theres no iconography, and its orange. but again its a nice model

Ok, I play IF & I prefer a darker yellow, however, it's a bit dark by my tastes. The paintjob is great though overall, I'd suggest a bit of shading to the white as it's kinda 2 dimensional, I know from experience how hard white can be to paint well, though a blue ink dilluted majorly can work well for white.

I'd change the Dark Angel Icon on the banner to an Imperial Fist icon...

The space marines wear bright colors on purpose, they want their enemies to see them and know who they are and know they're doomed. Either you like it and you go with it or you dont and you go with something else. There is no reason to change it.

hey ! the painting is pretty nice, but as you said, your yellow look like orange, and so it's strange for an imperial fist.

But you did it well, i'm sure that an all imperial fist army painted this way will not be choking.. I'd like to see a finished squad.

I love this Mini!!! I think this is the perfect quality for line troops! Btw I have to agree that it doesn't look like an IF... Actually I thought it was a Minotaur when I first saw it... the I thought about an Unforgiven successor chapter when I saw the DA symbol...

I do not like the white, it appears to "plain".
This yellow is orange, hard to sell as IF.

Critics aside, this is the very best orange I have ever seen. It is very hard to get a non-cartoonish orange, and this is perfect. Drop imperial fists. Go on with orange fists or orange angels or whatever. I want to see a dread or a tank in this color. Now. Start painting !!!

Well painted, AND the barrels are drilled out, which is always a big plus!

He does look quite like an Astral Claw though rather than an Imperial Fist, what about using him as such instead?

I like the orange over the yellow, thats the one thing I don't like about the Imperial Fists.

Wow!!! i really wasn't expecting so many replies!
Needless to say it really does fail as an imperial fist, much to my dismay, so i think i may have to have an identity shift. Besides that issue though, thanks to everyone for leaving such wonderful comments.
Personally, having people critique that the white seems flat is a major step up to my normal, seems its time to step up my game once again
