I painting an Imperial Fists army for a Battle of X Gamers style thing that we are doing at Golem Painting Studio where all the members of the studio have to paint 250 points of 40k a month

For my first 250 points I want a Librarian, 5 Marines and maybe a transport.

Bellow are my first 5 marines, I realize I can't have a melta in a five man squad so I am doing an extra marine for first 250

These guys look just great.

I was hoping to have him done by now to show off... but I have a lot of commissions on the go. Maybe I will finish him this weekend!

Right I have finished the first 250 points of my army. A Librarian, a 5 man combat squad and a Rhino, I shall get photos of these on monday as the models are in the studio... in the meantime I have bought a Mantic Forge Farther Heavy Hailstorm Cannon with the hope of converting it into a thunderfire cannon and making the techmarine out of spare bits and bobs



Any ideas on how I should go about the conversion are welcome!

Looks great. Like the head swap on loth. The subtle Osl on the headlights is nicely done too.

Really like the clean and crispy look you given your marines, very well painted aswell, good job on the detail work and the highlights.

That libby model is really stunning, and i like the head and staff you onto the model, he looks good, and again, nice attention to the details.

Im really looking forward to follow this blog. I can clearly see that this is going to be a high lvl painted army, and its allways fun to see such armies come to life.

One thing, you guys going for a 2k pts army and stop there? Was thinking if you have made some kinda army list that you will post, so we will know abit how the army is gonna turn out?

Hey, cheers I want to be quite organic about my approach to this army, painting what i like rather than what's good in the game I want to add a couple of dreads and some thunder hammer termies, thunderfire cannon, a vindicator, lysander... Thats all i know i want to add so far, but things can change

I'm guessing it's a head from a Grey Knight sprue.

Yeah it's a grey knight head the blue was painted using some of the new paints, not sure what their names are off the top of my head....

Yea the feeling of just putting something together and paint what you really want is fun. Instead of thinking about how it wll turn out in a game aint too bad ^^

But it dosent sound too bad, really looking forward to those termies and dreads come to life!

Those are some nice IF's, you've done a great job on the yellow, and I love the guy with the ML, he's superb.
Gotta ask though, where did you get the gaunt skull from?

Like them a lot, really nice yellow. That and the libby looks cool too
