Does anyone have some advise on how to achieve a smooth looking flesh tone that's somehow green-tinted? I'm painting my DV cultists as followers of nurgle, so I want them to appear diseased and sick, but not yet totally corrupted.
I have tried a slightly thinned wash of biel-tan green over the skin (1. dwarf flesh - 2. reikland flesh shade - 3. bronzed flesh - 4. elf flesh), but it's not as smooth as I expected it to be.

Edit: I'm planning the same for a reddish tan on the cultists with CC wapons, to make them look like followers of khorne, btw

I'd look at a green ink just water it down a bit to your liking and apply it very lightly till you get the desired effect.

Also I would use a more grey flesh base tone, rather than a healthy brownish skin tone. People who are unwell tend to go pale and grey. that should give you a better base for the green wash.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I paint zombies by priming white, washing with badab black, washing with a light wash of thraka green or blue (depending on the skin tone you want), then washing with sepia.

I just tried that. I had to substitute Thraka green with biel tan green and took reikland flesh shade instead of gryphonne sepia, but it's going much more in the direction I was looking for than my first mini! THX for the advice. I'll experiment a little with grey flesh tones and some washing.

Isn't there a new GW glaze or something that does just this? I forget what they're called.

Do you mean waywatcher green? The guy at my GW store told me that I should use the normal washes instead of the glazes. It was my first idea, too. going to pick up the glazes anyway next week.

Glad it worked out better for you

there was a colour called pallid flesh by GW. If they changed it, Vallejo's game colour range still has it.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I recomend not adding any "warm" colors in your skin at all.
Sickly skin would be best done (IMO) with a grey base and the washing over with green/gray then re-layering over with nearly white except in the crevices. Should look good.

I tried waywatcher green and I'm quite happy how he turned out! Just a little green stain, not totally rotten or zombie-like. I hope the picture shows that... He looks a lot better with the glaze than with biel-tan green shade
