Thinking about adding a nob head to the hellbrute. Here is a sample of what it would look like. Does it look like a viable conversion?

It makes it look a bit too Orky for my tastes. I found that some of the heads from the Chaos Knight sprues work we'll for this kind of thing. I did this, and a couple people liked it.

It would work well as a looted hellbrute, I don't know if such a thing is possible or legal but what the heck, it still looks cool.

I kind of want him orky. The hellbrute will be used as a part of a chaos contingent that backs up my main of orks. Was thinking about doing that to bridge the gap in appearance between chaos and orks.

I've personally been considering a similar conversion myself, with some wings added to run as a DP. Glad to see the Chaos Knight heads fit so well.

If you want to make it more orky, maybe take off some of the metallic tentacles? Everything else works quite well

thinking baout it you could even replace the tentacles with a killer kan arm or something.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

One small conversion I've seen that works (and I'll be borrowing) is to take to IG autocannon barrels and attach them to the right arm in place of the multimelta barrels. It really helps balance out the model visually.

If you want a semi-ork look, I'd do a lot more than just a head swap - make it look like a ork Dredd (or Mega-Armour Nob/Warboss) has been mutated by Chaos. That would involve removing the model's more obvious space marine dread ancestry and replacing with orky detailing.

Lil work and you have a Gazhgul, and to be honest it doesn't look like all that much work to to either. Hrm may have to get another Hellbrute just to do this...

For the Helbrute, I've actually found that the simpler conversions lend themselves better than more complex ones due to the higher level of fine detail on the model than the average dreadnought.

For example, I swapped his head out with a warriors of chaos head & the MM with a plasma cannon:

Good start, a man after my own heart. However, it really needs moar dakka. Go with it and add more, you're onto a winner
Here's one I've been working on, just finished building and undercoated him today, there's now thick smoke in place of the wire. My story is that he is the result of a chaos sorcerer turning a dread into a spawn.

Finished painting the model. The mold lines and gaps are a problem for me and I need to work on them
