Hey Dakka, I've finally gone ahead and made a blog for a project of mine.

So I'll start this thread by posting a picture of my completed previous project: 2000 points of Imperial Guard on display board.

(I just copied the model list from Army Builder, it's not organized propa'.

What I've done so far:

it's an entirely new painting technique for me, so it's slow and about as far from perfect as it's possible to get, but considering I've only used it on these two, I don't think it's too shabby. Snazzgitt is worse than Mista Stompy, and I hope Oy Youse will be even better. And then Doggbreff even better yet, and Nobsnikk... well, you get the idea. It's a technique I really enjoy using, so I hope to improve upon it over time.

What I've bought so far are the first five nobs, the weirdboy I'll use as Zoggy and the two Dakkajets. Zoggy I've cut off the scenic base crap, drilled a hole in his back and mounted him with piano-wire as if he's floating. For the Dakkajets, I bought one actual ork flier, and one F4U Corsair plastic kit and I've orkified it. Pics of everything will trickle into this thread.

Here are some WIP pictures of Old Zogwort and the dakkajets. I started painting the Dakkajet, but I was so looking forward to painting the nobs, I put the flier on the backburner for a while. Plus, when I started painting the nobs, I gave them a different look on all the metals, which I'm going to have to carry through to the vehicles, so I'm glad I only painted about half the metal on the jet before putting it aside.

I'm not sure if (or how) I should model the Nest of Vipers. Any suggestions?

The converted one isn't orky enough yet, so I'm not priming and painting it until I've got a few more vehicle kits to loot parts from. At the very least I'll need a few glyphs, and then there's the pilot...

Well, here's the next nob to come out of da mek's workshop:
Zog da Butcha & "Lunch" (guess who's who? :p ) Picture is a bit blueish, which I didn't notice while color correcting in photoshop. Soz about that.
<EDIT> LOL! before taking the photo of this guy, I thought "There's something I've forgotten to paint, and for the life of me I can't remember what it is." Just as I hit "Submit" on the post, I remembered I'd forgotten to rust up the metals.... *DOH* Oh, well. Back to the workbench.</EDIT>


Also, the yellows on the shoulderpads look terrible(!!), but I'm not doing anything about it until I don't have anything else to paint.

My counts as Old Zogwort. He's not completely finished. Some edging on the bone and stuff, some highlighting and shading on the reds is still to do, but this was my opportunity to borrow a good camera, so I took it. Anyway, here goes.

OK I HAD pics taken when I painted my "Boy who gets fings done" buuuut they are lost to the warp. So Ill have to actually paint something tomorrow. But tomorrow it will happen

I really like the gritty contrast you've got going on around the base of the yellow color. If really makes them pop. I like this style of painting very much, it looks sweet!
