Everytime a googleAd gets loaded on my iPhone/iPad it redirects me to a white page with just the ad.

8 times so far today, 4 times trying to load the same thread.

I assume you guys are using iOS?

If so, it is a Safari issue that happens sometimes when loading a URL that has a # sign in it (which occurs when you click on 'read the most current post' link, for example).

Previously, this was only occurring on standard Safari, but now it seems to have graduated to the mobile Safari as well.

Last I checked with Lego, he said it was an issue with Safari that he could not fix, but I don't know if anything has changed since then.

No way to just disable the google ads on the mobile theme?

For the record, although I'm getting an issue on an ipad, I'm using Chrome as my browser.

It only started happening yesterday, after experiencing a few hours where I was unable to open the site due to a DNS lookup error.

Don't know if they're related, but it does seem like a coincidence if they're not.

It doesn't always happen on my iPad, and is happening significantly more often today than it has in the past. I rarely surf Dakka on anything but my iPad anymore.

It doesn't always happen with google ads (for example, there's a google ad at the top of the page now) but when it does happen, it's a google ad.

And I've had it happen when normally clicking a thread, not just when I click "view first unread".

Yeah, this started happening me the other day too. It's SUPER annoying because you lose the "new post" link and I have to find it manually.

And yes, Safari on my iPhone.

I was going to ask, has anyone been getting this on Android devices?

I've been browsing solidly with Chrome for Android for a few months now, and I've never had this issue.

Also note its happening on my BlackBerry as well.

Been having the problem on my iPad, started today. Took 4 tries just to get onto this page using safari.

Also, just to note, "View First unread" links don't have a #.

Am Running a version thats a bit older Most of the Time on mobiles but this "google ad white Page " happens. So what Caused this? The recent interwebz-slowdown?

Happens to me mostly on my iPad using Safari, and occasionally on my iPhone as well...

Yeah, it definitely happens in Chrome on my iPad as well.

Any Android tablets/phones want to chime in and see if it's just how iOS handles javascript or some other stupid thing?

I don't know how you obtained that previous URL, but the way it works is this:

Anytime you are jumping to a specific post within a thread, then it generates a # symbol and then a number after that, with that last number being the specific post number (which tells the browser where to 'jump' to within the page).

So if you click on the little 'page' icon on the top left of any individual post the URL then changes to represent a page load going to that particular post...so if you ever want to generate a URL pointing to a specific post in a thread, that's what that little 'page' icon on the top left of every post is for.

When you're clicking on the 'skip to the new post' link, it should always be generating that # sign because it is always jumping to a specific post.

The Skipread URL is used when clicking on 'First Unread'.

The skipread and the hash URL are both generated from "view first unread".

I'm just trying to figure out why it's sometimes one and sometimes the other.

Again, I've gotten the skipread URL from a view first unread link.
I understand how the hashtag works. I understand you're telling me how you understand it to work.
It does not only give hash links.

it appears the SkipRead is a redirect, it redirects to a # URL.
