I'm impressed. If that's your second mini, then you're well underway to getting much, much better then most painters, myself included. You can be proud of yourself, especially on the sword, looks great. ^^

Great looking model. Are you an artist by trade or do you paint other miniatures? Because, I'm gonna say it... its almost too good to be your second model ever - especially if you did that on your own.

Very good, I agree it's almost too good to be your second mini ever.
Do you mean second GW mini? Second mini ever completed? Or overall?

It's very good regardless.

Great looking model! I'd really advise looking into photographing models though, even a simple white (or light coloured) background can make the miniatures photograph a lot better. There's a few great articles in the articles section.

Wow thanks guys

And yes this is my second mini ever painted the first beeing a chaos lord . So all your responses regarding that i take as huge compliment .
I used an airbrush and than worked on thinning my paints whilst adding glaze medium to it

Love the way he looks and have already done 3 more pics coming soon.

Though advice on the eyes to make them not look so flat would be much appresiated .

Ps i Will work on my pictures aswell might say that i have no artistic background . Cheers

And so you should, it's far better than anything I can paint by a long shot.

With regards to his eyes, (perhaps on a second model not particularly this one) start with a light colour in the middle of the eyes, or the corner, (white, light blue) then a darker blue over that, the lighter part will glow slightly, then add a touch of a second different light blue to highlight.

It's difficult to explain, but I did this to get a glowing effect on one of my miniatures and it looked alright.
Still, he looks awesome regardless.

Maybe just add another blue into his eyes at one corner or something?

That's your second mini ever painted? You must be a natural that's an awesome GK. C&C:

- I see edge highlight on the weapon but none on the armor. Is it because of the light or did you decide against it?
- The eyes look cool but a bit strange. I'm sure that you are able to add a lighter tone near the center for that "glow" look
- With that much quality that stormbolter needs to be drilled!

Overall, great job!

Edit: Now that I looked a bit harder, I think I see edge highlight around some areas of the armor. And I still can't believe how nice look those Gold details look! Gold / white paints are the devil for me, but you did it so well.

It looks great! The sword is awesome and the silver is nice. Maybe just some more highlighting on the eyes would really make it pop

You messed up on the eyes. And that paint looks thick, too. You may need to use acetone or a hobby knife to fix them if it is.

The sword is done quite well, but the eyes really stand out to me; and not in a good way. The rest of the model has a lot of depth, but then your eye is immediately drawn to the face, where the eyes look rather flat and painted on, rather than having the depth of lenses. I also think that changing the eyes color would help too. Maybe red? That would really stand out and make the focal point of the model (the face) pop.

I like the piercing look of the eyes. As DarthBob pointed out, they DO attract the gaze immediately, but I think they allow a gradual visual acceptance of the rest of the model (when viewed in detail) or make a simple, very definitive impression (when viewed casually). All in all, a wonderful model.
