I'm fine with this.

However, the rate that these Primarchs are coming out.... they need to pick up the pace or we're looking at 10-12 years before they will all be out. If they only get 1 model each, which I thought early on FW indicated there could be a couple versions of some of the Primarchs.

Forge World Newsletter #343

Hi there,
This week we turn our attention back to the Necrons of the sinister Maynarkh Dynasty, with two more fantastic new kits available to pre-order now. We’ve also got some exciting events news, concerning the Horus Heresy Weekender.

Necron Sentry Pylons

The stasis-tombs of the Necrons are vast and shadowy edifices, and many an Imperial Explorator expedition has made planetfall on a dead world only to vanish without trace; slain at the hands of the unliving guardian-constructs that watch over their slumbering masters.

Among these defences are automated weapons platforms of strange design known as Pylons. Some of these are huge, cyclopean constructs, but Imperial logisticians have codified smaller, tactical variants as Sentry Pylons. These powerful devices are arcs of glittering metal equipped with a weapons array that can strike with power so great as to be almost beyond comprehension. Some are outfitted with Heat Cannons; thermal energy weapons of extraordinary power, others bear Focussed Death Rays, which emit coruscating beams of force that can slice through ranks of infantry and armoured war machines with contemptuous ease.

Stuart Williamson has designed two more Sentry Pylons, armed with a Heat Cannon and a Focussed Death Ray respectively. Each is a multi-part resin kit that stands almost 6" (150mm) tall, and these two Sentry Pylons are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 10th May. The Sentry Pylon’s cruciform arc profile is packed with detail, making each a fantastic painting project as well as a potent battlefield unit. These two new options can be fielded in artillery units alongside the Sentry Pylon with Gauss Exterminator. Full rules for all our new Necron kits can be found in Imperial Armour Volume Twelve – The Fall of Orpheus.

Horus Heresy Weekender 2013 Exclusives and Pre-releases Unveiled

As you may have seen in a newsletter earlier this week, we’ve unveiled two of the exciting releases that we’ll have available at the Forge World and Black Library Horus Heresy Weekender. If you missed it, here’s a couple more pictures:

Fulgrim the Illuminator Primarch of the Emperor's Children

The second Primarch to receive a jaw-dropping model and the third of Forge World’s Horus Heresy Character Series is Fulgrim. Simon Egan’s incredible miniature depicts the Master of the Emperor’s Children in the thick of furious combat, and Weekender attendees will be the first in the world to get their hands on him.

Event Only Davinite Lodge Priest
A third addition to our range of 2013 Event Only models is Mark Bedford’s Davinite Serpent Lodge Priest. This detailed miniature will be available for the first time at the Horus Heresy Weekender.

Horus Heresy Weekender Reservation Orders
If you’ve got your tickets for the Horus Heresy Weekender (and there's not many left if you haven’t), we are still accepting reservation orders for this event. This is the best way to ensure we have the exact product you want, packed up and waiting for you at the show. Our sales stand will primarily be carrying the Forge World Horus Heresy range of miniatures and books, but you can reserve any Forge World or Warhammer Forge models that you wish.

As with all our UK shows, Horus Heresy Weekender reservation orders are pre-paid to make the collection process quicker and easier, leaving you with more time to enjoy the rest of the event.
Please telephone the Customer Service team on 0115 900 4995 to place a reservation order. We will require your name, a contact telephone number and e-mail address, along with the list of products you wish to reserve, and you will also need your card details to hand too. We’ll process the payment while you are on the phone, and in the week before the event you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail containing your order number. This is your proof of payment and you must bring this e-mail with you to claim your order. We must receive Horus Heresy Weekender reservations by Monday 13th May.

Thanks,

We'll find out soon enough eh.

If anyone going to the weekender fancies being a proper gent and grabbing me a Davinite Priest(at my expense, obviously) shoot me a PM.

As far as Fulgrim, I have to agree with SickSix's sentiment; he is a lot less fey than I was expecting, both in features and in pose(what we can see of it anyway).

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks
-----
"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Dammit Kronk, get it together.

While I was waiting for you to upload those images, I made this in photoshop: Parts from a command barge, Parts from the Triarch Stalker, 2 minutes of disinterested work: just like the original.

Although they did make those side pieces, I guess.

What are the rules like on these, if you have IA12? Are they solid? Because technically, although you can build one yourself from those kits, they FW one is a little cheaper then kitbashing it together.

It occurs to me that if you have any 2 of the following kits (triarch Stalker, ghost Ark, Scythe) you have 2 of the 3 guns for the Sentry pylons already.

Buy the pylon with the gun bit you're missing and magnetise it.

@Ouze, the rules for them are as follows-

New Sentry Pylon (HS Choice), 135pts each basic with 120" S9 AP2 Heavy 2 Gauss Exterminator, has interceptor and skyfire, is artillery with 3 Wounds, 3+ save and T7, can take 1-3 in battery's, +40pts for Heat Cannon 36" S10 AP1 Heavy 2 Blast Melta or +25pts for Focussed Death Ray pick point in 24" roll 3D6 and extend line between the two points, S10 AP1 Heavy 1, does TWICE as many hits as models under the line.
They are artillery but move, shoot etc on their own without crew required, due to their canoptek artillery rule they are always auto hit in combat as they have no WS, no morale checks are made regardless of the assault results and they cant be locked in combat either.

Those rules look pretty nice. but if you're takign to deal with flyers then the gauss option is the only one that works as the other 2 are Blast and "not using BS" so can't be shot at flyers.

Hey guys, just noticed something; the DKOK "firing" squad has vanished from the DKOK section. I was considering starting a Krieg list sometime in the near future, and now 1/3 of their standard troopers have vanished.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when something leaves display on FW, it's gone for good.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Correcting you here:

Occasionally things get removed from the listings on the Forge World site. Most often it is because the moulds are being replaced and the stock levels of the item are depleted.
In this particular instance, the "Death Korps of Krieg Firing Squad" most likely are having the moulds replaced.

One other potential explanation is that they are planning to repackage/recut the moulds to alter the product they're selling. With how successful the Heresy "bundles" have been, I can easily see a DKoK "bundle".

This is correct, assuming they're not lying again: they've said that there was a problem with the molds and they've had to take them off the site until they get it fixed. Which seems believable since DKoK are the most popular of their IG armies, just got another book, and the kit is a core product for the DKoK. Taking it out of production permanently would just be stupid.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Just got the latest warhammer forge newsletter.

There is a warhammer fantasy model, then a mention that the Horus Heresy weekender has sold out, then a reminder that you can order things and have them picked up at the Horus Heresy weekender.

I'm starting to get pretty sick of the HH stuff taking over FW and BL...

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Warhammer Forge Newsletter #37

Hi there,
In today’s newsletter we delve into the stygian depths of the Warhammer world to bring you a fiendish new Night Goblin weapon – the terrifyingly bizarre Squig Gobba. We’ve also got an events update for those of you lucky enough to get tickets to the (now sold out!) Horus Heresy Weekender.

Night Goblin Squig Gobba
The Squig Gobba, as it is known by the common soldiery of the Empire, is a fearsome sight amongst the Orc & Goblin hordes. Dragged and prodded onto the battlefield by its malevolent Night Goblin tenders, it is a huge beast with an oversized gaping maw, a set of extremely powerful lungs and a ravenous appetite to rival even that of a Troll! With the Squig Gobba heavily chained into position to prevent it bounding off after the first tasty morsel it spies, its tenders start dragging lesser squigs from the cages surrounding them as battle is joined, slicking these vicious beasts with foul-tasting noxious liquids. This not only renders the creatures senseless for a short time, but also prevents the Squig Gobba from immediately swallowing them as the stunned squigs are unceremoniously stuffed into its jaws!

Soon the Squig Gobba’s mouth will be full to bursting point, with thick globs of frothing acidic saliva dribbling constantly forth. Then it is only a matter of time before one of two things happen: either the Squig Gobba will vomit forth its mouthful of now monumentally furious lesser kin, causing chaos and panic on a grand (and thoroughly disgusting) scale amongst the enemy army’s ranks; or the great beast itself will explode in a blazing fireball, as the Night Goblin ‘concoctions’ that coat the squigs react spectacularly with the Squig Gobba’s stomach juices.

The Night Goblin Squig Gobba is a multi-part resin kit designed by Keith Robertson. This improbable war ‘machine’ is packed with detail, from the terrified squig being lifted into the maw of the Squig Gobba, and the variously panicked and angry munitions being spat into the air, to the cruel and sneaky Night Goblin tenders themselves. This fantastic kit is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 31st May, and you can download a set of experimental rules from the Forge World website now.

Hi there,
As you read this, we’ll be busy transforming the Nottingham Belfry Hotel into a Horus Heresy sanctum. In the meantime, we’ve got a few snippets to reveal in today’s newsflash about the event, as well as news of a Horus Heresy gaming weekend which will be held at Warhammer World later this year.

PraetorThe Ultimate Horus Heresy Getaway is Almost Upon Us
This weekend, Forge World, Black Library and hundreds of Horus Heresy fans will descend upon the Nottingham Belfry Hotel for the Horus Heresy Weekender.

Please note that all tickets for this event have now sold out.

Not only will the new Event Only Davinite Serpent Lodge Priest model be available for the first time, but Weekender attendees will also have the first opportunity in the world to buy our second incredible Primarch miniature. This is the third of our collectable Horus Heresy Character Series: Simon Egan’s incredible Fulgrim the Illuminator, Primarch of the Emperor’s Children Legion.

We also expect to have small numbers of Edgar Skomorowski’s detailed Praetor Set (pictured left), and Stuart Williamson’s imposing Legion Glaive Super-Heavy Tank on sale at the event.

Mechanicum ThallaxAround the venue, you’ll also see twenty fantastic Legion art prints, such as the one pictured left. These 200cm x 80cm prints have been exclusively produced for the Weekender, all eighteen Legions are represented (some more than once) and each is available to buy (stand not included).

We’ve also got some more fantastic event only items up our sleeves, including Loyalist and Traitor Legion posters, four different designs of Horus Heresy t-shirts and if that weren’t enough, every attendee will receive an exclusive Weekender backpack.

With seminars, Q&A’s, art showcases, signings, modelling and painting demos, open gaming and participation games, there’s almost too much to do on each day – not to mention the Horus Heresy Pub Quiz and the Zone Mortalis Last Man Standing challenge on Saturday evening.

We’re also excited to announce that Alan Bligh will be hosting an exclusive Author Death Match in the Practice Cages on Saturday afternoon, when Black Library’s John French and Aaron Dembski-Bowden take to the field of battle to play the exclusive scenario you’ll find in your programme. This is a face-off that’s not to be missed!

Horus Heresy Weekender Reservation Orders
If you’ve placed a reservation order for the Horus Heresy Weekender, you’ll now have received your confirmation e-mail. You must bring a copy of this with you to collect your order, as it is your proof of payment. Reservation orders will be available for collection from the Sales stand after 12:00 on Saturday, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Warhammer World Horus Heresy Betrayal Gaming Weekend – 24th-25th August
This weekend is quite unlike any other, where for the first time you can bring legendary heroes like Garviel Loken or even Primarchs such as Horus the Warmaster to battle. You will experience the opening parts of Horus’ ambitions to overthrow the Emperor and set the galaxy ablaze.

Over the weekend, you’ll play four games recreating the exciting and tense battles covered in Forge World’s The Horus Heresy Book One - Betrayal. You will use the Legiones Astartes army list and appendices, allowing you to field exotic weaponry, titanic war machines and unyielding Primarchs across three games on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in a massive Doubles game on Sunday afternoon. Your ticket includes lunch on both days, plus an evening meal on the Saturday, followed by a Heresy-themed quiz.

Also on the Saturday, Black Library will be joining us to showcase their millions-selling Horus Heresy books. We can also announce that on the Sunday, the author of Betrayal, Alan Bligh will be in attendance, giving you the opportunity to have your Horus Heresy tomes signed and talk about the finer points of the book.

So, Legionary, will you fight for the Emperor of Mankind or the Warmaster Horus? Tickets are available now.
