Oh man, I've already spent an hour or so cropping and editing and deleting pictures from Adepticon. It was a blast and I think one of my favorite years so far. I met a LOT of fellow dakka members and MODs. Over the next week or so I plan on putting up pictures and going in to more detail on how the event was for me. Please feel free to add in your own pictures if you were there. This thread isn't JUST for my two teams.

The above picture was taken during our Friday night MOAB game. It was a huge mess and we got wasted but it didn't matter. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Whale for bringing the titan and creating the scenario.

Here are our tournament results for this year.
Wardens of the Maelstrom placed 88th. 196 overall points. 79 battle. 19 fate. 46 theme. 42 appearance. 10 Quiz. 19 Sportsmanship. 3 Slay the Warlord. 6 First Blood. 2 line breaker
Ancients of the Maelstrom placed 58th. 236 overall points. 146 battle. 16 fate. 34 theme. 33 appearance. 7 Quiz. 20 Sportsmanship. 4 Slay the Warlord. 7 First Blood. 6 line breaker

The Wardens consisted of myself, Moonpie, Whalemusic360 and Ramos
The Ancients were Gitsplitta, Wyomingfox, Yellowbeard, and Solar_lion

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Hey, one game between the 20 games that wasn't positive, pretty good. I suspect it was the chaos team Moonpie and I shot up good, they didn't seem to be into it.

I'll put up my pics in this thread when I can get them off my phone... unfortunately I left my phone charger in the room even after filbert handed it to me right before we left . Hopefully the hotel can find it for me.

Our team was: filbert, krootman, Remedy4389 (who drove to the event with Hulksmash) and myself. We got 57th, one point ahead of your Ancients team... I feel like there will be some future poking as a result . 3 of those points were from the quiz

Looking forward to seeing pics of your armies on display, as I only saw them after they were back in pieces. Also to any other army display pictures you were able to take, as mine are mostly of Crystal Brush as we were too busy setting up our own army to go see all of the amazing ones that were there (other than the showcase armies that were set up later with plenty of time to view, that is).

We should have marked "C" all the way down. The answer is always "C".

It was nice to hang out with you as well RiTides. It's always great to be able to talk some shop and also just BS with online friends. I have only just begun to upload some stuff here to dakka but here are some of the first team displays that I got some pictures of.

This last picture was of a team that just happened to be hanging out by us during our Friday night game. We ended up playing them in our last game of the tournament. They were a great bunch of guys and a lot of fun as opponents.

Yeah, that guy was getting mad when I was explaining what I was rolling for. That's never a good sign. The other dude was super cool, but not sure if he brought the paper up. It was either that or Ice and I's first game. Basically, I bring sportsmanship scores down would be the assumption.

The pink army always wins. You beat the pink army? Go ahead and brag about it. You lost to the pink army? Well, then....

I liked this display, the pictures don't high light the neat little things they did. It had some lighting and extra little bits.

More teams!

These last couple of team shots made it to the exhibit show off thing. They were all really neat.

I don't know if I took a picture of the whole team for these guys but they were gorgeous.

Thanks, Hulk! Glad you liked it. That was a great game! My favorite of the tourney.

Best moment of the game: After deployment, Hulksmash places a figure on the sideline.

HS: "He just likes to watch."
SL: "I'll tell ya what, if a model gets in 6", I'll let you have one snap shot with his plasma pistol."

Turn 4.... SL flies is Nightscythe right up to HS's model.

HS: "Hey, I get my snap shot! Roll to hit... 6! Roll to pen... 6!! Roll for damage... 5.. +1! 6!!! It explodes!"
SL:

Dying's the easy way out. You won't catch me dying. They'll have to kill me before I die!

And then SL went and lied down, tried not to cry, cried a lot.

Now that is one amazing story xD Killer dice luck, too!

I'm really glad to have been a part of this. Even happier that you guys took so many pictures! My camera has enough life to take 2 pics before charging anymore!

As far as my part in it, I had a blast. Tournament put us up against 5 excellent teams that I would love to play again. From Dakka Detachment One (fascinating to meet yakface in person) to a band of Norwegians (who gave us beer) and Boltgun and his crew from columbus (who gave us shots =D ), there wasn't a single person whose company I didn't enjoy.

During our final game i was even put into one of our opponents' "Book of Grudges" for my cheerful attitude and "Helldrakes" (and yes, he put them in quotes too)

Apart from horrid dice the whole weekend (and the annoying prevalence of Serpent Spam and Taudar lists), The lord sadly proved to be rather mediocre, as he failed way too many daemon Weapon tests and charges. I only later learned you can take invuln saves versus these, but even after that he seldom proved effective. That 3+ armor just needs a little more behind it. Hes great when he rolls +1 armor!

The Drakes were the stars of the show, as far as Im concerned, especially in the last game where they vector striked a Doom Scythe into oblivion. (coulda had the other one as well, but wanted to make sure one died!) They tended to only get one turn in, but when they were on the field they burned everything in sight!

Lots of other games being played at AC. I believe this was called Deepwars? Looked great with all the underwater terrain. Gives me great ideas for new terrain! Off to the pet store!

Great 3d terrain – space hulk anyone?

War Machine rooms were in full use.

Starwars

Must have been an interesting siege game played here.

Alpharius and I played a demo game of Deepwars and looks like a fun game. I bought the rulebook and will probably get some minis as the Troll Trader carries them here in the UK. Terrain should be relatively easy to source since most aquatic supply stores will have something similar. The board in the pictures was custom made but the brightly coloured corals are all from a pet shop according to the bloke on the stand who was running the game.
