So, saw this one hiding in the mix, looks like a new Terminator Captain rocking a Relicblade and Stormbolter.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

Looks really nice. I love Terminators and will definetely get one. I just hope he comes with a ton of weapon options and isn't another monopose model.

Second that. I'd prefer it to be like the Chaos Lord/ Sorceror Terminator.

I wonder if it'll be in the 7th Edition box?

Probably along the lines of the new SM Librarian, I'd call it a high probability for the torso (or some part of it) being fixed to the legs.
Nothing a few strokes with a hobby-saw won't fix.

Personally, I don't think so.

I think it might be indicative of more monopose plastics though.

Nah, its definitely from a new Space Hulk box, where BA are fighting orks instead of gene-stealers :-p

According to White Dwarf, the 7th Ed box is Dark Vengeance with the new rulebook swapped in, so probably not.

Wouldn't want that to happen... at least, as long as I'm making stuff up on the fly.

I'm confused. A captain in terminator armor can't take a relic blade?

Or are we confusing terminator captain (HQ character choice) and terminator sergeant (stormbolter/Power Sword, leads dudes with power fists)?

Terminator captains, nor chapter masters in terminator armour can take relic blades. No models I can find in the SM codex can have both terminator armour and a relic blade.

You could use it as a terminator captain/chapter master with the Burning Blade.

I dig him. I hope there's some weapon options. I guess it's about time we give his venerable predecessor some rest:

Still one of my favorite Space Marine sculpts; I might need to get one just because.

While ornate, it looks like a power sword to me. The haft/hilt just has space for one hand. Relic blades are more hand and a half or two handed.

Could be played as either, certainly. I suspect it was just the sculptor wanting to make something cool.

Could be a limited edition model from the revamped Dark Vengance like the Chaplain from when they last launched that boxed set.

A little extra something-something to say sorry for no new starter. Perhaps.

But don't add me to the tracker!

Terminator characters can't take relic blades. Even Chapter Masters in Terminator armor can only take wargear from certain lists.

I doubt it. There's nothing Dark Angel-centric about him at all, and the Dark Angels already have Belial. He'd just cannibalize sales of that kit if he was all blinged out like a Dark Angel. That or he's looking a little blue for the Deathwing

If only he didn't have a cape... or that weird table ornament on his back... and possessed some actual command iconography like the skull headed eagle with a halo that his predecessor sports on the right greave.

Bar that it's perfectly passable.

I think capes are cool on command models (so long as they don't have jump packs) but yeah, I'm not a fan of the odd centerpiece on his back. I'd just swap that out with the regular Iron Halo from the Terminator and commander boxes, or a banner because I like those.

Given that 'Exterminatus' is 40K-ese for the wholesale cleansing of a world, it's an odd thing to write on a sword, no?

What? Have you never destroyed a whole world with just a power sword?

Glory is fleeting. Obscurity is forever.
