This release sounds like a lot of fun. I have found it disappointing leading up to this release that every other army has been creeping into the lizardmen's territory of owner of huge monsters. This release looks like it's giving them back their flavor in giving them hero ridden carnosaurs and two new great beasts (the carnosaur alternative build and then the other new monster).
As to the criticism on the naming of the new units, it isn't new for the game and certainly shouldn't be shocking. Further to that, they're expensive toys--laugh about it!
Can't wait for pictures!

Where are the lizardmen to go with my new dinosaur army?
I hope that the kits aren't too exorbitantly overpriced. Dinosaurs get a lot of love in my household.
I imagine we should see some hefty price tags considering almost all these units sound like big chunky things, and all have parts for riders or unique heroes.
Very much looking forward to seeing this new close combat hero, even if he is finecast. At least we'll get a plastic skink hero out of this.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
I was also wondering about possible re-boxing... hopefully, skinks and saurus do not get re-boxed into packaging that gives less models (as happened with orc boyz, leading to very few people actually starting them when they were re-released).

Warhammer: Lizardmen Carnosaur This box contains a multi-part plastic kit that makes one of four possible massive center-piece miniatures.
HUGE - 8 inches long by 5 inches tall
Can make an Oldblood on Carnosaur, Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur, Kroq-Gar on Carnosaur or Troglodon with Skink Oracle.
This is huge. How long is Valkyrie? I feel like this is about the same length and i think i'll feel the same about it, I love the model but hate having to have a separate box for it. And since scar-vets can take it that means you could potentially have two. Or whatever else a Troglodon is.
Warhammer: Lizardman Bastiladon This box contains a brand new multipart plastic kit that makes a Bastiladon carrying either a Solar Engine or an Ark of Sotek.
Hahahaha this makes me laugh so hard. Does anyone remember way back in the rumors when someone first said there will be a new monster that is a war engine that absorbs sunlight and shoots it like a cannon ball? People thought that was the stupidest idea and the person was just trolling... I can't want for a lizardmen cannon.

Whoa, I think you're right- I do remember that! That was a whiiiile back. Whoever that rumor monger was deserves some credit

Warhammer: Lizardmen Terradon/ Ripperdactyl Riders This box contains a multi-part plastic kit that can be assemble as either 3 Terradons or 3 Ripperdactyls, flying cavalry mounts ridden by Lizardmen Skinks.
Included Parts to upgrade one Terradon rider to the special character Tiktaq'to.
There's already a Failcast model for Tiktaq'to (which wasn't released that long ago). Can't see them releasing a replacement., with the possible exception that the (UK) availability is set at 'usually ships in 4 weeks'.

Not the first time, they make a metal to Finecast model obsolete with a plastic kit, e.g Wraithguard.

Perhaps, but that was a transition for an already existing metal model released for the last book(or whenever the last/current Terradons were released).

Just saw this over on the GW website. Fairly Lizardman related.
I suppose i owe OP some form of apology. Not for doubting the validity of his post, because it did seem fairly trollish, but for maybe coming on a little strong with my skepticism. Sorry buddy.
I dont often post but wanted to congratulate you, op, gw have a mini teaser up that can not be anything other than dinomania.I'm chuffed as I was giving up on them, got battalion and hq on terradon ages ago then they sat waiting for new stuff. It's only a forum for toys and rumours are just that-rumours.People did not need to get mad at you for simply being new.Nice catch I can plan skink crusade now.

Carnosaur is amazing, laserdon is meh. Toothadactyls are decent looking.
Lizardmen special magic lore confirmed, Astromancy.
Batallion is meh.

Thanks for that link... very interesting stuff! Unfortunately, our first impressions will always be of grainy images since GW won't show us the real ones first

Skip to 36min or so if you dont care for the Tau supplement.
Thanks for the video. Really want to see some clearer pictures before I can make a statement on the models. Although I'm also interested to see what all these Multi-Kit price tags are...
I also can't make out the Battalion very well but they point out the Cavalry has a new look.
Also is it just me or do some/all of the other models appear to look different/more dynamic as well?
Pics for those who can't watch the videos. Wish I could make them higher quality, though :-/
Edit: Ninja'ed, but I took these screen captures myself, and it looks like there are a few that aren't posted above, so I'll leave them here (hosted on photobucket).
