New Battle report. With changed up list.. Here you get to see Yellowbeards and I's opposite themed WK's .. Also the Dire avengers are dressed up in SM costumes!

Deployment. This is using the 2 WraithKnight list (2 heavy). Facing a Grey Knight Army. We get “Big guns never tire” and start with deploying on the short table ends. We opt to go second!

Marine turn 1: Rhinos move forward pop smoke. AutoCannon Dread and RazorBack Assault Cannon open up on the far Wraithknight. Causing 1 wound. Other AutoCannon Dread shoots at Destroyer lord and takes a wound.

Our Turn 1: Wraith/Destroyer lord stay put. Wraith Cannon WraithKnight blows up the 10 man rhino killing 2 Marines. WraithKnight with suncannon takes out a RazorBack forcing the libby out in the open. WaveSerpent shoots at Strike squad holding far objective killing 3. They run! Dire Avengers deploy to take objective.

Marine Turn 2: All sorts of psychic’s happen this turn (Foreboding, Prescience and ?) the Libby now re-rolls all To Hits/Wounds/Saves. StormRaven arrives from reserve. It’s MultiMelta and LaserCannon put another 2 wounds on the WraithKnight. It Huricane bolters shoot at Destroyer Lord/Wraiths and do nothing. Dreadknight teleports across table and incinerates 4 Dire avengers. One AutoCannon Dread shoots at the WraithKnight and the other at the Destroyer Lord with no effect. Libby joins the remnants of the 10 man strike squad. Remaining RazorBack shoots at WraithKnight as well.

Our Turn 2: Doom Scythe & 1 Night Scythe enter from reserve. Both target the Storm Raven and Blow it out of the sky, killing 7 marines. SunCannon WraithKnight takes out remaining Razorback. Jet Bikes enter table due to great rolling dice w/bladestorm get 2 more W on Dreadknight . Farseer shoots at DreadKnight and it makes its save. WaveSerpent take out 1 marine on far objective. WraithCannon Wraithknight shoots at Dreadknight and misses both. Destroyer Lord and Wraiths kill all but the Libby and one marine (w/hammer). They run!



Marine turn 3: Remaining 3 man squad from the destroyed StormRaven shoot at the wraiths killing one. Each AutoCannon dread targets a flyer. Penning the NightScythe but only gets a shaken result which it ignores due to “Living metal”. It misses the Doom. Remaining marine across the table move into cover and literally out of Line of Sight. 5 man Strike squad from recently destroyed RazorBack shoots and then charges SunCannon WraithKnight; losing 2 to Close Combat. Libby w/ Hammer and Marine w/Hammer charge WK. but Libby dies to overwatch and Marine fails charge range. Dreadknight destroys Wraithknight in Close Combat.

Our Turn 3. Remaining NightScythe fails to come in from reserve. 2nd Jet Bike squad comes in. Both Jet Bike squads and Farseer fire everything at Dreadknight finally killing it! Doom targets a Auto Cannon dread but it fails to Wound with the death ray and get a Immobilized result only. NightScythe has no target and proceeds to far objective to drop troops. SunCannon WraithKnight kills off 2 man squad (different from pic –sorry) Dlord and Wraiths take out far AutoCannon Dread (on other side of wall). It blows up causing a 2nd Wound on the Destroyer Lord!

Marine turn 4: Remaining Hammer marine hits SunCannon Wraithknight and instant Deaths him with Force weapon! Ouch! Immobilized Dread snapfires at NightScythe and misses.

Our turn 4: One bike squad each move to far objectives. NightScythe flies past objective and drops 6 warriors whom kill hidden marine. Doom scythe move to attack remaining foot marine and with death ray and a lot of 6’s destroy all of them. Destroyer Lord and wraiths jump on Immobilized dread and blow it up causing a Wound on a wraith.


Ended up with 4 objectives ( 12 pts). 2 Slay the Warlord (2 pts). Line breaker & First Blood (2 pts) 3 Heavys destroyed (3 pts) =19tps
Marines 2 Heavys Destroyed (2 pts)

It's been fun playing a new army and learning all the old and new rules.

So what is your's and Yello Beard's base's look like? I noticed that none of your models are based so far?

Since this is in painting and modeling I can't help it to say that your eldars cry for highlights on the teal parts! This is a clean but totally flat paintjob!

Thanks for the feedback.. I still struggle with going far enough with my AB color choices. I would love to have more time playing with the AB.

Currently I'm working on building and magnitizing 2 squads of Wraithguard.

I really like the effect that the pen does but it seems that it is only available in the UK/EU. Do you know of another brand that would be available in the US?

The packet I got about 3 years ago, had 4 pens in it, that are still all going strong. (Although I will admit, I didn't paint for about 7 months) Life can be a bitch.
It has 4 different sizes, a 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 & 0.7.
If you only buy one, the 0.1 is obviously the most useful.

I think it looks great between panels on tanks etc.

I use the Micron brand. It's avaialble most places. I get mine at Hobby Lobby.

Still working on the Wraithguard. Magnitizing a set of 5. Their tiny limbs and sockets make the going slow.
In other news I ordered some Wraithlords. Should be a good additioned to my spirit leaning Army.

While waiting for other project to dry I got the urge to do something different ( other than drilling holes and placing magnets)
Crimson Hunter.. Couple things left to do .. some gems, A wee bit of streaks on the vents. I might try some Decals . Haven’t quite decided yet!
For these I didn't use my Micon pens as they were all too far gone. So I went back to painting the seams.. I miss my micron pen





I'm almost done with a 5 man Squad of Avengers. Soon I'll have a legit playable list.

Almost finished with the Wraithguard build. 2 Squads of 10. I decided not to magnitize the 2nd 5 as I mostly will be fielding these exclusivly with wraithcannons.

I also got 2 Wraithlords in transit. Should be a good addition to my spirit army.

Sure when they get painted. Here is a WIP...
Wraithguard in various loadouts. Magnetized to get 3 out of the 4 combinations. Still more drilling to do before I get some paint on them. Same body for all 3.

WIP on the Farseer on a bike.. I'll call him stumpy as the legs and torso are not quite a good match. Thou on the bike its not as noticeable.

In the pic no work has been done on the bike .. I'll get to it this weekend.

Actually, this thread probably is misplaced as the "P&M Blog" forum would be a better fit. But that is really up to either Solar Lion or the Mods, not us .

Anyways Sammoth, this is a true Blog that Solar Lion has going on in it and P&M Blogs tend to have more than just pictures of WIP in it. They tell more of story behind the person's army and that can include fluff and fun battle reports. Of course there will be a lot of attention on the painting and modeling aspect and this Blog certainly has that going on in spades!

If the PM Mod could move this to the P&M Blog that would indeed be appropriate. Not sure how to contact one. As for the blog , I probably started it in the wrong location. As for the content, the point was to start a new army, learn some new techniques; painting , modeling and playing. I've been a diehard Marine player and it's been hard to break the mold! I plan to chronicle my Eldar experience here.. all of it. As always comments welcome.

Thanks for the comments on the Farseer. I actually finished him this weekend as well as 2 Wraithlords. I did manage to take pictures, namely of Yellowbeards and mines combines army ( same paint scheme, colors just in reverse ), But due to the cheap tripod I was using the camera hit the floor and now In need of repair. So I’ll be using my camera phone for a while. Hopefully it’s not a 400$ paperweight!

What’s next? I finished the magnetizing of the first 5 Wraithguard. They will be able to be played as Axe and Shield, Florentine or traditional wraithcannons. The second 5 will be straight wraithcannons. I cant’s see ever fielding 2 units of CC Wraithguard.

As mentioned earlier My camera is in the shop ( $150 fix - ouch. ) So the pictures are not very good and not with the best light.
Finished the Farseer on the jetbike. The stripes make the coweling look bird like. Not sure if I'll keep it or not. ( won't change it till after AC if I decided to do it)

Looking very nice. I like the green drapes on the wraithlords. Stripes on the bike look good SL, I think I'd keep them.

I'll most likely put some transfers on it or stripe it. It'll do for now.
