Here I've painted some deathwing terminators and was wondering what everyone thought of them.
I was also looking for some advice, hints or tips, and if they could give me any pointers on how to improve or where i went wrong?

Thanks for your time.

good solid allround models, in the respect of improvement i would add more detail to the eyes as in the pics i only see a block colour. you may well have heard the term faces and bases, as it is the two areas you are imideatley drawn to.

Maybe a tad more light in the pictures so we can make out some more detail. Otherwise they look good, maybe paint the rims of the bases

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Drill out the barrels of the guns and add a few light reflections to the lenses. Maybe add a gloss coat to the lenses too.

You have quite stark highlights on the armour plates - it probably looks great on the tabletop but a more graduated highlight might look better (and certainly for close up viewing).

Perhaps a little more variation in the colours and textures on the bases might be nice. Add in some thicker and finer grain sand, some static grass and a few small pebbles. Perhaps some more rebar and such curling out of the concrete blocks too.

Otherwise some great work.

Cheers, the eyes are red. I think my photography skills let me down a bit there.

Yea I need another light for my set up. What colour do you think for the rims? Perhaps grey?

Yea will have to find a small drill-bit. A touch more water next time to blend the colours Okay i was going for a ruin base style so some more rebar is a good shout.

Thanks for the great feedback, want to get better so thought i would ask.

Needs improvement.

- Cleaner highlights
- Drill out the gun barrels
- Gem stone the eyes.

Look into block layering. Its a handy method for cleaner models.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Skavenblight dinge. Kinda a charcoal grey that would blend well with the base

Nicely done. The highlights look like a big improvement, far better than I could do.

Great job maybe clean up the eyes a bit, still looks a bit messy. Take your time to make smooth brush strokes and clean up mistakes if you make them. The edge highlighting on that right shoulder pad on the second to last deathwing terminator is great. That is what you should shoot for on your whole model. There is a huge difference between the first and second try. Oh and also Drill out the storm bolter and assault cannon! Good luck

Thanks again guys... i found a drill-bit small enough for the barrels so i will attempt that next time.

I've ordered an airbrush so i will see what effects i can get with that.

Oh and the wet pallet was amazing.
