SO, this has been an argument I have not found any really good reference. So you hit a termi with a D weapons and they get to take their invul. You roll on the chart and lets say you get the d3 wounds. Now do they roll to make the save for one hit, or d3 hits (lets say 2)? So would that be two separate saves or just 2 save?

They save against wounds not hits.

That's incorrect in this case. Automatically Appended Next Post: "Cover saves and invulnerable saves can be taken against hits from a Destroyer weapon as
normal, unless a Devastating Hit or Deathblow result is rolled."
When in doubt, check the rulebook.

I was gonna go into how the wounds are pooled into groups based on their stats and then allocated afterwards to the closest models to the firer....but yeah I read those D weapons can't cause extra wounds to pass on to other model, one hit and all wounds land on the one model and extra wounds lost. That is very significant.
edit add: despite having read this darn book some 5 times cover to cover I still find it easy to slip since there are quite a bit of rules that require referencing multiple pages. Reminds me of my DM days for DnD and how it took a whole week to prepare a one evening session.

I never jest, and don't call me Shirley. Sorry bad joke
-------------
On a serious note, those other threads confirm that you roll you invul per wound, but if you fail the save, it becomes D3.
Sequence is:
Roll to hit
Roll to wound using the D table.
-----If 2-5 is rolled, take 1 cover/invul per hit. For each failed save, the model (not the unit) take D3 wounds/hull points
-----If a 6 is rolled, no saves allowed, the model takes 6+ D6 wounds or Hull points

If it needs RaW backing as to "why" it is because of the underlined: Non-vehicle - Seriously Wounded: The model suffers a hit that wounds automatically and causes it to lose D3 Wounds instead of 1.
combined with Shooting Rules: Take Saves & Remove Casualties The model gets to make a saving throw, if it has one. If it fails, reduce that model’s Wounds by 1. If the model is reduced to 0 Wounds, remove it as a casualty.
