Subject: [KS] The Devil's Run: Route 666 - New Faction Revealed
Looks like a lot of fun! The rolling board mechanic looks like an interesting one (and helps with the question you always ask with this kind of concept; how the hell are you going to make a good board for it!), very reasonably priced boxset and now comfortably over the pledge target. Great timing as well with Mad Max about to come into cinemas..
The Devil's Run: Route 666 is a fast-moving and hard-hitting vehicular combat board game (for 2-6 players) set in a post-apocalyptic America.
There are four types of vehicles: Bikes,Trikes, Buggies and Cars. Each of these vehicle types play differently due to how they drive, their weapons and their arcs of fire. The game has story driven missions which are a mix of full throttle racing and maximum carnage vehicular battle, with an immersive ruleset to make you feel like you're a part of the post-apoc action. We use six and ten sided dice, statlines and modifications to represent every aspect of the game, from scenery effects, shooting, ramming and sideswiping, to using equipment like Nitros, Oil Slicks and Smoke Screens.
Devil's Run uses a rolling board mechanic, to ensure all players feel like they are on the edge of their seat; fall too far behind and you are out of the race, get too far in front and you could open yourself to an airstrike or an unexpected obstacle in the road. Live fast and die hard on Route 666. Can you survive the Devil's Run?

I broke my "no more Kickstarters rule " after seeing this.
At least for the base pledge, which seems like a reasonable price. Not too sure about the addon costs - I could see my spending getting out of hand if I got involved in that.
The gameplay seems to be a lot more dodging, weaving and slamming on brakes than Dark Future was, rather than just trying to stick a 40mm GL in a turret and shooting stuff.
Love the fact that this has been scaled to work with Matchbox/Hotwheels cars, sure I have an old Pontiac Firebird model around somewhere that might be getting a new paint job.

Not really, as the game isn't gonna be with people before Feb 16 (+ almost inevitable KS-delays).
Mad Max-mania and my itch to wargame it will be a year gone by then.
I wouldn't be surprised if a fair few people see the film and then come back and pledge to the auction. (I will probably be one of them! )
At the very least it will bring people with ridiculous hair and strange choice in clothing, driving ridiculous vehicles, down a post-apoc highway, to the forefront of people's minds!

Smokey and the Bandit meets Mad Max - I like it!
I'm already thinking about toy cars, those mod kits, some cool conversations and some airbrush action.
Weathering powder! I might get to play with weathering powder!
Pacific wrote: Love the fact that this has been scaled to work with Matchbox/Hotwheels cars,
IIRC, most Hotwheels/Matchbox cars are smaller than 20mm... although they're largely scaled to 'what fits in the packet' rather than any sort of consistent scaling.
Damn, why is this stuff never in 28mm? ...No I mean seriously, the last two Road Warrior Kickstarters that I can remember were either too big or too small. Hmph, play in a real scale people, none of this titchy nonsense.
I really like different arcs of fire, having the driver and passenger shooting out of opposite sides of the car is cool (and kind of obvious...), the passenger having an easier time of shooting is nice (also rather obvious, too).
The only problem is that those of us used to having the steering wheel on the right side of the car are going to have to imagine that we're driving a hire car around France!
Oh, wow... just realised that the car's passenger can lean out of the window to shoot backwards

Most importantly, is it possible to fall out of the window?

If they're going up against things like this I don't think people will be quibbling if they are a few mil out..

It's not so much the scale with the official vehicles, as the scale between the individual Hotwheels vehicles. When I was looking at making a game like this a while back and picked up a bunch of cars, I wound up with a Humvee and a Mini that were both more or less the same size...
Not as big a deal if you're heavily modifying them, of course, and (going by discussions on other games) probably not a big deal to most people who aren't me...

Looks fun but after reading the shipping section I'm out, 40 pounds for shipping outside the EU and NA is too much for me (and thank God as I was having to fight my inner Mad Max not to pledge)

Jenkins: You don't have jurisdiction here!
Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.
About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."

Miguelsan we actually would do whatever we can to get the product to you at the cheapest postage price possible. It is unlikely to be £40.
Where are you based I can look into a specific case for you.
Reminds me a lot of a game from way back in the day called Thunder Road used the same rolling board mechanic. Think it was from Canada my buddy had a copy that was in French. It was a lot of fun.

Subject: [KS] The Devil's Run: Route 666 - New Faction Revealed
On May 14, WFG revealed a new faction -- which is what finally got me to pledge. I posted pictures in the first post but here's a link to the update in question:
Good timing here with the Mad Max: Fury Road movie just having come out! I thought it was amazing and these models are very evocative of a world like that
Edit: I see that's intentional with the video saying it is a "fast-paced vehicle battle game with mad characters and maxxed out vehicles" . They definitely nailed that look on some of these models!

Manchu: Thank you so much for sharing what you have over the last couple of days!
After feedback from a number of Backers we have added 3 new KS bundle deals, all of which save approx 50% off of the current KS prices and are a quick easy way to get a gang together.
Firstly the Car Bundles, set up for each of the 2 main factions:
and secondly the conversion set bundle that allows conversion of Devil's Run vehicles, but also those from other suppliers, such as Hotwheels and Matchbox

Looks very cool, and that's a neat idea with the destruction derby course.
I'm torn at the moment between the £40 and £80 pledges, but if they keep adding the extra bits like this it would seem that the latter is going to become the better option.
