Posted on here a few weeks ago looking for conversion heads for my Tau.

I've tried sanding off the little lights and visor on the Fire Warrior and whilst it does look alright, it's not perfect enough for my OCD and I'm too terrible with Greenstuff to fix it. Long story short I am looking for a helmet for my Tau in the style of the EVA Helmet from Halo.

Some of the Dark Eldar Reaver heads are perfect, but since there's only two of these heads in a set AND I need them in bulk, it's simply not feasible.

Does anyone know of any sites that sell anything like these in bulk, I've checked a few of the wargaming conversion shops that I know of, but admittedly, I know of very few.

In other news, the preset conversion bits I've found are severely limited for the Tau.

While I can't say anything for an EVA style helm, I ran recommend Pig Irons system trooper heads which if painted right can look like either the CQB or Recon helps. Hope that helps mate.

Thanks for the help matey, but alas, I probably should have made it clear that I'm not actually going for the 'Halo' Look, i just want helmets that are full-face glass like the EVA helmets.

I do love the Pig Iron helmets though, they're my back-up plan if this all falls through.

You can get a fairly decent smooth look by just filing off the optics from the front of an ordinary Fire Warrior helmet.

Have you emailed GW to see if they would sell you the Reaver heads? I doubt it, but if that's your preference it's worth a shot. Love the idea by the way, dare I ask the purpose of the conversion?

I love the Tau, I always have, but their helmets don't have enough 'cool' for me. Those boring little blinky lights are just that, boring.

Puppets war observer and gteam heads are quite close. Alternatively the pig iron inner guard heads might work as a basis. The eyes and targeting optics could be easily trimmed and filled.

Both Reavers AND wyches have the visor helms (also in the venom kit, I believe). Most DE players have some to spare if you're willing to trade.

Thanks guys, there's been some great suggestions on here... I'm going to try the shaved down Fire Warrior helmet first, just because I already have those.
Bought some liquid green stuff to fill in the lines in the tau helmet top and to build up a ridge around the edge, so the middle looks more like a glass plate.
