You've got some major plastic-fu hk-san, I bow to your skills.

Seriously though, those titan legs are awesome.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

This may sound strange, but I also can't wait to see what It'll look like. As with most of my conversions, I just start with a rough idea in my head.
From there on I really have no idea how the finished version will look. I just keep working until I'm happy with it, which can take some time.

ishkatar wrote:Over the top or not, but this one is definitely a beautifully and precisely crafted base. I like it a lot
I would actually add a bit more details to the black base itself - like sand, rubble or even some water effects. Too much is never enough

Thank you. I do still have a few more things to add to the base, like rubble, debris etc. As well some damage effects here and there.
I do like the water effect idea though .

Nice work on the arms, hk'. Look forward to more on them.

Great posing on the legs and a very nice base.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I appreciate it .

As promised, here's a little more detail on what I've done with the knights legs.

First off, I added an extra joint piece, using a part from a Mechanicus Dunecrawler leg.
Which gave me a lot more freedom of movement, when it came to posing the raised left leg.

I haven't had to make many more changes to the right leg, but the left needed the pelvis joint re-sculpting, as well as all four ankle pistons replaced.

I've also done a bit more work on the knights interior, adding some engine detail, and a servitor pilot.

That is just amazing, absolutely brilliant.

Love every bit, you have given it a brilliant stance, even it is menacing. Spot on.

We need to get you and Jan together, your models and his paints and we have the best in the world. mind you he is a brilliant modeller, and your painting is pretty blooming good so not far away now. (Um you do remember how to paint don't you?)

Very nice, the stance is indeed very appropriate, a bit like he is studying a filthy xenos before melta-purging it.

As you can see the Knights servo arms are slowly coming together, but there's still a lot of work to do.

So far we've got the drill and claw arms, and I'm now working on some kind of plasma cutter tool.
Not sure what the fourth arm will have yet, maybe a set of smaller tools for more delicate work. What do you guys think? .

OK so this is the ULTIMATE action figure, got it!

That drill is amazing, want to know how, think I have it but...

4th arm maybe some kind of liquid injection system, thinking coolant for other activities or acid for burning through!

Thanks Cam. Yeah the drill is made from 31 layers of 1mm thick plastic card, and took a ridiculous amount of time to make .

If I ever make another one, I need to find an easier way to do it. Although I am pleased with the result.

Amazing work on the knight . Such detail, not to mention the concept alone is awesome. Maybe the fourth arm could be a manipulator arm/input arm. Think along the lines of R2-D2 with his arm that interfaces with computer banks....only bigger. I always thought the servo skull cog mechanicus emblem could be a really neat mechanical lock/dial device, so maybe something that could grab that and turn it.

Great work on the arms.

Assuming you are going for engineering-like and not weaponised-like in it's use, then maybe go with an earth scoop thing as you see on diggers/jcbs.

You have a drill, so it can make holes.
You have a manipulator, so it can grab things.
You have a laser/melta/plasma cutter thing, for cutting and/or welding.
Give it a digger so that it can move stuff and things... Make it make use of it's size.

Also, you can add a grabber thing to it so it can move a wider assortment of stuff and things; like this:

But that is not very weaponised. But could still be useful.

I love the idea of the Mechanicus symbol being a locking device, and needing some kind of special key to unlock it.
Maybe it could also have somekind of skeleton key device, or whatever the mechanicus version of it would be.

Yeah I did think about some kind of digger blade, or earth moving equipment. Just haven't quite worked out the design yet.
But thinking about it, I could give one of the arms detachable heads, and have an array of additional tool heads stored at the rear of the knight.

While continuing to work on the Knight, I have managed to get some more painting done on my Tech Priest Dominus.

The red is just a base coat for now, and I was planning on adding a dark red wash next.
But if anyone has any tips on painting the robes, It'll be most appreciated.

Wow, he looks great already.
Usually when painting red, we tend to go towards the bright side - ending in the orange range.
Butz that wouldn't fit the Domus.
As you said, washes first - but I'd go with a thinned Black first, then another Mud wash, so it's really dark and grimm / grimey.
Then re-use the original red to put lights back - usually works good for me.
Cheers
Klaus

Cheers Klaus, that sounds great. I wouldn't of thought of going for a black wash first, but its really helped tone down the red.
I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks for the advice .

The knight is really impressive, I especially love the base.

mind sharing how you made the drill bit btw?

Tech priest looks good, one thing is that the red looks a little flat ATM, what Klaus suggests sounds like a good idea, let us know how it turns out

Thanks Noodles. As for the drill bit, It's made of multiple layers of 1mm Plastic card, all cut into individual shapes, and then glued together.
I know that's not a very helpful description, so at some point I'll try and put together a little tutorial .

Sorry it's been a while since my last update, but I decided to take a short break from the knight, and work on another project for a bit.
I'm Back to it now though, and have made a little more progress on the Mechanicus monstrosity.

One thing I'd like to get some feedback on, is the crane. As I think it looks a little heavy to be mounted on one side of the knight,
and wondered if it wouldn't look better attached to the top.

Let me know what you guys think, and I'll be back with another update soon

Looking forward to it. I'd kinda guessed you'd used plasticard, I worked out how i'd do it but was curious to hear how you'd planned it

I see what you mean about the crane it does look a bit odd there. It looks really good btw, the telescoping and the design of the lifting mechanism is really cool, but it's maybe a little flimsy at the base joint and the first spar.

Thing is, if you did move it what would you replace it with?
