With the exception of cyborgs like paradigm, all of us have half finished jobs on our desks or in storage, missing heads/arms/base colours, always judging us.

Here is your opportunity to kick them square in their metaphorical little plastic nads.

No proofs, no restrictions, no voting, no deadlines.

"But kb, that's stupid, you're detailing what is commonly referred to as a blog"

WRONG douchecanoe, that isn't what this is at all. It's a support group that aims to murder grey plastic, and to free all of us from the CRUSHING WEIGHT OF UNPAINTED EXPECTATION.

"But kb, without voting how can I measure my edong against others?"

There isn't voting, but there is scoring. The scoring is done by the submitter of the painted work. It is needlessly complicated, as demonstrated here;

Is it now finished: 0/1
Has it been waiting forever: 0/1
Are you happy with it: 0/1
Overall: 0/3

You're not competing against anyone but yourself.

So find some poor plastic in your collection somewhere, ideally something that has been waiting a while, and let's git 'er done(tm)

Oh, I have plenty of unfinished projects, I just tend to ignore them and buy/paint new shiny stuff! Terrible of me, to be honest. At some point in the next couple of months, though, I do intend to get around to stripping and starting over on a whole load of stuff, which is something I've been meaning to do for ages.

While I don't have much in the way of uncompleted stuff actually with me at the moment (the advantages of university, the Pile of Shame is several hundred miles away! ) I will definitely commit to grabbing some long-in-need-of-painting stuff next time I'm home and throwing them in here, in the mean time, take an exalt for the great idea and I'll be sure to chip in with plenty of encouragement for everyone who gets on board with this!

On the bright side, I did get to try Army Painter Dragon Red Primer.

See that paint on his chest? That's 2 coats of zandri dust, practically unthinned. Just runs off the AP Dragon Red.

Old RT Luitenant:

He’s been sitting waiting for paint literally for decades. And I’m using “Literally” literally, not in the modern slang for “very/extremely” He’s even been primed for most of that. He has painted on “Smelly Primer” from GW, which has been out of production for a few iterations of GW’s paint line. But now he’s a WIP. I have done a bit more since this picture, and should go and put down some more once I’m done posting.

I’ll make up some points once I’m done. I just wanted to post something to support the concept of getting old crap off the back of the workbench. Lord knows I’ve got plenty of that. One of my favorite pastimes when I take a new picture of my workspace is to find all the stuff that’s not been touched in the interviewing time.

Nice, welcome.

Trevor is my obvious model at the moment, but i think first off will be my escape from goblin town set. It is what brought me back in like 3 years ago, and is unfinished. It is probably half done, i just really hate painting brown.

I wonder if 'Douchecanoe' is a commonwealth thing? Because I've known about and used this phrase forever, but online I often find people have never heard it. I actually thought it was a Canadian thing (something about us and our relationship with the great north and the woods/rivers), but evidently not.

At any rate....I've got some *really* old Eldar Guardians I should paint at some point. Or the Fellowship of the Ring models. but...but..my Orks...my Marines...my Elves...my Dwarfs...sigh

"Most excellent. They can't escape us now!"

It may well be a Canadian thing, douches nor canoes are popular here.

I also have many Canadian friends, so it might have rubbed off, eh?

I've got several models in the WIP category, including some Chaos Chosen, a Nephilim Jetfighter, a squad of Ravenwing bikes, a Tau Piranha, and more. If I can figure out something reasonable for me to do at the same time as I do my Stormsurge for the other comp, I'll definitely be in.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

NICE, do the Chosen, I have some half finished ones in my box that need to be done - I got so tired of doing the gold, BUT THEYRE CLOSE!

Yeah well Trevor is in his death throes now - his tail is bloody wobbly again for some reason, but his wings and face are greenstuffed pretty well now - brush priming tonight (hopefully), unless the GS isn't cured, then I will work on his wings more (or dig out the chosen)

As penance for offloading Trevor (you bastard) you should definitely have to paint your first mini.

I should let you know that the Chosen in question are NOT the cool DV ones, but rather some that I put together using the regular Chaos Space Marines box (the leader is one of the DV ones however, with a conversion on his bolter to make it a combi-plasma). I originally was doing them for one of Para's comps as a retinue for Cypher. I finished Cypher, but not these guys. Here's the last WIP of them that I took, the only thing I've added since I took this pic is the guy in the back got his metallics done to match the others, and all of the plasma coils got a basecoat of Mephiston Red.

... Yes, I too am a plastic crack hoarder :( Although I claim the dubious distinction of starting with metal err crack doesn't really work. Anyway, so, I will look through my horribly burgeoning beautiful collection and find the worst offender.

I suspect it will be one of the metals minis I have had since I was . And no, I'm not saying how long ago that was. And gentlemen aren't supposed to ask a lady her age ^_^ let's just say it has a Ral Partha imprint. Sigh.

Makes me want to go to the shoebox of shame and get something that’s actually lead.

Kids these days with their “safe” alloys and new fangled plastics. Sometime you just need to work in a medium that requires safe handling hazard procedures. If you wonder why I’m a bit crazy, it might have something to do with files and mold lines...

Crud.

I have three projects sitting at my paint station right now. A Psyker who just needs his staff done and some stitching on his cloak. The final touches on my Imperial Knight, like piping, some Mechanicus cogs and wiring, and then the Skulz Ultramarine Standard Bearer who just needs his base and standard painted - but the standard is enormous and I want to get it right. :(

How about this.

Of all the outstanding projects you have, post them here and number them.

Someone else will roll D6 and post the result;

https://www.random.org/dice/?num=1

Or not, or whatever, blimey.

I'll start though;

1. Land Speeder Storm
2. Chaos Chosen
3. Goblin King
4. EfGT Goblins
5. 54mm Deathwatch
6. Ork Nob

Whatever is picked will get finished and replaced with something else from the stack.

NB: anything of mine will get done AFTER Trevor, and this bloody flyrant. Both of which should be at 80% this evening.

Edited knight out for my ork - also, if I finish all 6, I am buying something.

If you think the number of project we have can be summed up by a d6 roll, you are deranged!

The act of even constructing such a list would require legions of archeologist-scribes to unearth the depths of my workroom. Even when the countless rare treasures they dredge from the deeps are hit with the harsh light of the modern age, the work will just begin! What are these lost artifacts from time of yore? What name shall be entered on the ledgers?

Such an inventory is beyond the powers of man. To even contemplate such an undertaking is a dance with madness.
