Hiya!

Painting:

I found a picture that really show where I want to go painting wise with the army. This is not my work, I present them only as an example of what I plan to do. Got that? Okay. Anyway, I like this example for its dark and muted color scheme. While dark colors aren't especially Slaaneshi, it better fits the "Eldar Fall" theme of the army.

Anyway i was looking at my Slaanesh Display Case and thought I take some group pics:

Anyway, I'm still working on the my daemon and other stuff...

More Later!

I still love the wings you've made and cast, and the winged serpent daemons (this is me being too lazy to check back over a dozen pages and find what you've called them). Think a few might need some washers glued under the bases though.

What's sad is that there are washers glued to the bottoms. My cats keep bumping the display case, and knocking my minis over.

Stupid cats, they need to get a job... But on a serious note, I think you better slap some paint on these guys soon bud, or you might have revolt on your hands!

Very nice work. I would be honored to come across such a highly tailored force on the battlefeild.

So, I got the molds for the princess poured, here are some pictures. I'm using a transparent silicon rubber called "Sort-a-Clear" by Smooth-on; that makes it super easy to cut open the molds without costly errors. The trick with clear silicon is that your mold box must be absolutely smooth to achieve maximum clarity. Any grain refracts the light penetrating the block and you won't be able to see through it. I use homemade foam core box, with the inside lined with clear packing tape. It works a treat.

I'll get the molds cut tonight, and should have the first assembled cast posted up before morning.

Wow, it is like the holiday jello molds of the damned.

Very neat, can't wait to see how those bad boys come out. Do you just pour the mold in one go and razor apart the two halves, or am I seeing that wrong? I usually try the two part, one at a time method, to mixed results, and inadvertently tried doing it all in one when I failed to lube up some latex and made one solid bit. It didn't turn out well, but then I wasn't really certain how to cut it well. I am curious as to how you do it.

I mostly use single pour molds, as the safe lots of time and your end up with fewer mold line if done right. I'll have to find the page in blog it on but I detailed the technique waaaay back around page 3-4. It easier to show in picture than explain in text though.

Found it!

cutting the Molds:

I'll be getting deep into this later as I've draw up diagrams and everything.

The tools:

A scalpel a #12 curved blade. Buy a box or two of non-sterile carbon blades they're much cheaper. The curved blade will make this technique super-easy and virtually fool proof.

Surgical retractors, got these new off ebay for $20, the name brand one can run as high as $200 or more!

Cutting stuff!

As am I - I've had some resin/mould material for a while and have been trying to think of the best way to cast things using it. I would be interested to see how good the single piece mould is compared to the moulds made in 2 pieces.

Well I've had some issues....

I did not properly vent the mold here and the air pressure prevented it from being filled....damn!

On the head I got an air bubble at the chin....damn!

I'm working to fix this now.....

But.... the other parts came out beautifully:

Sheeh...even the loincloth came out nice....

Anyway I'm trying a new test after boring new air vents. Details tonight!

Well, now... Its hard to believe that I started this model way back in April of 2009.

I re-vented the molds and cave it the old college try...

This ones a mixture of components from to different pours, hence the color variation. You'll also notice a few holes caused by air bubbles. Anyway, she a composed of 8 socketed components, no pinning required. I working on a new tentacle head. The tentacles will be cast straight but with a quick dunk in hot water, they can be posed how every you like.

In Progress:

1. Detailing the Soulgrinder's throne, with lounging daemonettes.

2. Working on the Changling stand-in model.

3. Six converted Fiends of Slaanesh; with just six larger breasts....yeah!

4. Started hacking apart the other to daemon princesses, to clean the up for casting.

5. reworking some details on the male KOS.

More later!

I'm surprised how well the detail came out around the top of the stockings (can't think of a better way of phrasing it). And I'm still admiring those wings.

wow sersi you continue to push the limits and that thing is awsome. I can't wait to see this whole army painted and killing!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Are you sure a Soulgrinder Titan would be a good idea? I mean, no offense to him, but he did take a long time on a regular Souldgrinder.
