Simple question, anyone know where I could get a SM sized greatsword, designed to be a power greatsword? I know the GK have large two handed blades but looking something a little more "holy feth that's compensating for something" while not being absurdly out of scale.

For clarificaton, the blade I envision is fairly wide but still to scale, and slightly longer than the GK swords. If anyone has an idea where I could find such a piece would be grateful

Yes something that size would be good, but more blade (the actual cutting element of the blade is rather small due to decorative elements of the hilt), as well as being a bit posable so I can do a mid-swing pose.

There is not much bigger than grey knight blade.

The space wolves upgrade sword is a tad shorter.
Same with sheathed black templer upgrade kit...

When I was putting together my counts-as Sicarius, I dragged out all my power swords and plasma pistols:

There are a number of hand-and-a-half swords, better used for relic blades, but some might serve.

The wide tipped swords are from the DA ravenwing sprue, and are chunky blades
The other long left handed sword is from the command squad IIRC.

The two big right handed swords are from the GK strike squad and VVs. Assuming my memory holds.

I seem to remember among the old metal GK terminators (the very old ones...) some had rather sizeable greatswords...

Thanks for this image, and all the others posted, unfortunately not quite what I'm looking for. Really I'm looking something that a Space Marine would need two hands to wield, as the wielder is a particularly zealous Black Templar who likes kicking Xenos and taking heads

The power armour grey knight sword alone is double handed taller than a catapracti clad marine.

I might try the Terminator sword, never considered that it might be bigger, I have quite a few spare as well could just replace the hand with a PA sized hand.

Dreadknight sword is unfortunately getting into the comical size, especially given the fist is the size of the SM.

Does it have to be a power sword? The evisorator from the AM box fills the role nicely:

And the GK 2 hander might be thinner then you want, but has the length and hilt.

Unfortunately it does as the Eviscerator is good otherwise. Again, the GK sword is close but as you saw, too thin and personally for me, too short as well. In truth I'm going for a "40k" style greatsword rather than a realistic style (which GK is, ie, long handle, blunted bit, then normal sized cutting blade). Maybe if I posted the character bio it would give greater indication of the scale of the blade you would envision from this guy.

Brandt Myschor is the zealous, uptight, inflexible commander of the Kill-Team. A Castellan in the famed Black Templars chapter, he was sent to the Deathwatch as penitence for brutalities commanded by himself during the 29th Tiranum War, where he ordered the Vindicators under his command to bring down Hive Sicily after it was finally breached by the Ork. With his sentence nearly complete, his sole focus is to return with his honour to his fleet. He staunchly opposes the tenets of the Codex Astartes and chooses instead to fight as a Black Templar, launching almost suicidal frontal assaults, challenging enemy commanders to single combat and engage in void warfare with his meagre fleet of a single strike cruiser at the expense of safer options. To date, he has pulled through intact and with resounding victories, but not without casualties to his own Killteam. There is speculation among the Watch Fortress that he had been fast tracked up the Deathwatch ranks due to his rank and Chapter, something often rumoured to happen among those in favour with the Inquisition but always dismissed as nonsense and almost traitorous to insinuate such a thing. He has an intense hatred towards Psykers, even in his own ranks and makes no effort to hide his disdain for Librarians under his command. it would be a difficult job but.

theres a few shorter space marine blades that are wider and maybe more your scale.

if you where good, you could cut one off, and then use a second to extend the blade longer and pin the join etc,

could do same if you wanted a chainsword

That's actually the exact right size I was looking for (cut me slack I've only had 1 coffee today), my only particular with that sword is the shape, but if there was one of similar length with the right thickness (Liberator greatsword is right thickness but wrong style and length).

Again, thanks for all the suggestions everyone I really do appreiciate it even if I come across as picky. The thing is this is a character I'm writing so I am emotionally attached to it and my concious won't let me stray from the image in my head.

the 30k legion champion has a nice 2 handed greatsword or theres the emperors champion who also has a nice blade.

Emperor's Champ and Sigismund have been my first choices but I've put myself in between a hard place and a rock place by pick Sigismund as my Chapter Champion/Emperor's Champion

The Palatine Blades are unfortunately not right at all, wrong shape and size. The Legion set swords are close to what I'm looking for, I'm not certain they're the right length but I will certainly consider them

I think a wraith lords ghost glaive is at least as big as a space marine. Or a power blade from a wraith guard if you mean so he can hold it.

Don't suppose you have anything in the middle of those 4 do you?

Stern's is the right style (straight tip)
Belial is the right length
Inq is right width (not counting the strange bit near crossguard)
Seth is the right "rawr"

So something in the middle of all these would be perfect

think your going to have to be chopping up swords to make the perfect blade, and maybe using wire and plasti card plus somthing and sanding your blade extension to shape etc
