I simply have no words for this marvel of Creation. Heresy never looked so beautiful.

The God-Emperor of Mankind, returned to life through the sheer power of Faith in abundance. The misguided Faith of Greenskins, no less, but Faith nonetheless. Once again He strides forth unto the battlefield atop the shoulders of Belief made matter, every facet of his power the Hope of a million souls. Indeed, what matter of foe can fathom to stand against such flashy bits?

aka Ork believe the Emperor works and so he does. They believe he is dead killy and so he is. Frak the Imperial Cult.

I am the worst at choosing colours. I'm so indecisive that my projects always flop come paint time.
What colours would you like to see?

Oh man that's glorious!

Part of me would love to have a go at painting something like that, but A: I don't know if I could do it justice, B: I have no idea which colour scheme would suit it best, and C: shipping that thing back and forward could be tricky, pricey, and take a while...

Perth, of course
...I mean, I have bought a lot of second-hand lots off ebay from NSW before, and they all went mostly fine...but I'd be bloody terrified trusting auspost with a build as great as this

Not wrong there, mate. It would have been too easy if you said 'Sydney' haha
I had a look at some of your builds, good stuff there. Inspiring

Haha...yup, turns out, "the most isolated city in the world" isn't exactly a great great place to live, for a game that requires people to meet up in the same place! ...cheers for the comment on my rokkwagon too btw, yeah that was a fun little project and I'm still pretty happy with it - not too bad for a month and a pile of junk bitz and some paint anyway ...I've always loved those old rocker models and just had to do something with them...but man, build-wise, that has nothing on this glorious monstrocity!

...hmm...so, is there any magnets, or removable parts on that thing, or is it all solidly glued in place?...if I had to guess, I'd say it's the latter, and mostly superglue, right? (I know some people are judgemental about using superglue on plastic, I'm not one of those people, so don't worry ...I think I used superglue for everything on my rokkwagon...I see that zap-a-gap tube there...I recommend Selley's Quick Fix btw, decent price, easy to find, and it's by far the best I've used I use these stand-up tubes from bunnings )

All the bits that stick out, like the guns, dread claws, grot tower, and the golden throne itself, they're the things I'd be worried about breaking off...if they were magnetised, or removable in some way, that'd be fine...although...with superglue joins, I'm actually not too worried either, as the superglue tends to snap cleanly before the plastic, so if anything breaks, it'd probably be a clean break, and thus an easy fix...if it's plastic glue though, it's anyones guess

On My Started Threads is one for a WIP of this build, you can see what comes off. The turret detaches, the lascannon comes off, the grots and the Nob all detach. I'm a builder, not a painter and I work pretty fast, so I tend to stick things down if I think a brush can get to them easily. I have 5 unpainted or half painted heavy conversions sitting on my table, will pic a few attached to this post.
I finished the build and primed it this morning. What do you think about colours? I really need some help on that one haha

Oh man they are some nice builds!...I've just spen a good 5 minutes drooling over them

...yeah...colour scheme for that thing will be a tough one...there's so much going on...actually, the dominant colour when it's done might actually be "weathered metal", honestly...with all the guns, mechanical parts, ork scrapmetal add-ons...

Clan-wise, deathskullz would've been most likely to loot it, though they'd probably paint blue polka-dots all over the golden throne or something for extra luck ...badmoonz could've hired them to loot it for them, or it was big and shiny enough to make them bother looting it themselves...the goffz, they just generally get what they want, one way or another...or, I could see blood axez developing some kind of imperial cult or something ...so, I think any of those four clans, and their typical colour schemes colud work...not so much evil sunz though, looks like it'd be way too slow...and I doubt the snakebitez would want anything to do with something like that

So, probably a lot of oily/rusty metal, with either a blue/black/white, yellow/black, or black/red+black/white chequers scheme...that's my top 3 loosely fluff-inspired scheme recommendations.

...do you have an actual ork army going? Or do you just build awesome stuff? ...because if you already have an army/colour scheme going, that could make the decision easier...

...of course, there's also the early 90's full-cheeseball style colour scheme, all bright primary colours, etc...which might actually work on somerhing crazy like this

I have the components of an army, but theyre unpainted and ive only played 1 game. I like the 40k lore and building, haven't really got into the game side yet. I always get stuck on colour. I always want to be original, but can never lock in a decision. It's a fault of mine

I would love to try painting something like this but would have no idea where to even start after its primed, it such an epic model it really does need a paint job to match - wish my conversion and scratch build skill where even 1/10th as good!

Haha...I can definitely relate with the indecisiveness ...I'm simultaneously working on four armies, orks easily being my main army, and clear favourite, but I'm also doing nurgle chaos marines, nurgle daemons, and still kinda just starting a 30k/40k salamanders army.

I've had space marine stuff sitting around for a good two years, and it's taken me that long to settle on a chapter...salamanders finally won because, apparently I really like green? ...and I get to paint a load of cool flames and scales and stuffl.

All the nurgle stuff gives me a lot of freedom too, with the full scope of decay/weathering, organic or armour/mechanical.

...but the orks...orks are true chaos in nature really, they don't have any neat, tidy uniforms or anything to worry about...you could easily have a full 30-boy mob, and each boy could have a different colour scheme...you certainly don't need to have your ork army all in the same clan colours or something, although that can look great too...my approach is, I'm not making a little clan warband, I'm making a Waaagh!...where loads of random orks from all over the galaxy have gathered together to krump some planets...a mixture of any/all of the clans, plus my own random designs...you don't have to be decisive with orkz

Haha sounds great!
You should definitely do a painting plog! You've got skillz. Orks, green. Salamanders, green. Nurgle, green.
Hmm...
I love weathering, especially rust, so you can rest assured it'll be beat all to hell. I think it'll have to be predominantly red, with checks and rust. A few black accent panels to break up the red and I've got 2 shades of gold and a wash for the throne.

Yeah the beat-up red with checks and black accents should work...coincidentally, that sounds exactly how I picture "da yoot" painted up too

...and I keep thinking of starting a general plog for all my stuff...usually whenever I'm about 3/4 through a project though, never at the start ...and I tend to paint very randomly...I'll switch projects half-way, I'll have mad fits where I basically paint solidly for an entire day or two without sleep, other times I'll go up to like a month and a half without touching a brush...not very helpfull with keeping track of/recording progress in any kind of regular/organised fashion

Experimenting with paint. Metallic Brown base, then Khorne Red, Wazdakka Red and Blood Red, all put on with a brush using diagonal strokes in the same direction. A little Nuln Oil, some stippled Beastial Brown and Troll Slayer Orange at the skirt. W.I.P.
If anyone suggests picking out every rivet in silver you are a tasteless moron who should get aids and die

Yeah that red works, looks nice and orky
...I do want to suggest the silver rivets though! ...with a little nuln oil on each one too, and a little streak going down from some of them

All rivets have been Nuln oiled, some with streaks, so I'm ahead of you there.
But the all silver rivets looks really stupid. Google Baneblade and you will see that 99.9% of them DON'T have painted rivets.
This pic below is what one looks like with the rivets silvered. It makes it look like a bad pair of jeans.
Can you honestly look at this picture and tell me that silvered rivets are better? XD

Umm...yeah righto, good point!...jeezuz...I don't think I realised til now just how many bloody rivets are on those things!!...I'm just used to ork stuff, which yeah, has quite a lot of rivets...but looks bloody minimal next to that

The card is called Evergreen and I go it from the local model train shop. You can get sheets of different thicknesses and textures about A4 size. Evergreen also do pipes, rods, I-beams etc.
Thanks for the comment!!

Thanks! Your airbrush might need a good cleaning. When that happens to me it's typically a clog where excess paint has dried in the nozzle. Tends to happen more if i'm using thinned down acrylics rather than the vallejo stuff.
