Just an FYI that I will be cutting back significantly on my dakka time beyond updating this thread and swap shop. The tone of most threads just puts me off 40k and I'd rather avoid that.

So, if you spot a rumor in a thread that I don't catch, please post here with a link so I can add it.

You gave Stickmonkey a true for a Treekin dual kit - Treekin are different from Tree Men.

He might be referring to oft-rumored Summer of Treekin in a few years, though.

Well, he said "Giant Treekin", which is pretty much what a Treeman is. I think that's close enough.

Dark Eldar Rumors - May 2014
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212
the Haemonculi will be a big focus of the new book as the Wraiths were with the Eldar. There is a possibility of the models being a WD release initially. The Wrack kit doubles as a entirely new unit that focuses on chemical weapons.

The Bane have even more exaggerated proportions that looks like it can rip a Dreadnought to shreads bare handed, very cool.

The following new Haemonculi will be unleashed upon us all:

1) "Bane" type unit. Bigger than a Grotesque but smaller than a Talos.
May be a new character.
2) New Plastic Wracks (5 per box, dual kit). Includes all weapon upgrades.
3) New Plastic Grotesques (3 per box). Includes all weapon upgrades.
4) Plastic Clampack Haemonculus.

7th Edition Rumors - May 2014
So, last night someone from The Overlords Podcast group on Facebook posted these tidbits. Hopefully they don't mind if they're posted elsewhere. There's some interesting things to chew on here.

-- So Guys I heard from a pretty reliable source that got to sit down with the book for a few minutes here is what I can remember from what was said.

1. 4ed consolidate in to combat is in
2. If you fail to cast a power you can't cast it the rest of the game
3. Every unit including vehicles will now score
4. Unbound armies may not contest objectives
5. Lords of war are in
6. Escalation and stronghold remaine as they are now
7. Vehicles will be harder to kill the chart changes once more.
8. The book will come out in 3 options Art like warhammer visions, Fluff book, and one that only contains rules and that one is about as think as the current SM book.
9.difficult terrain is just -2 inches
10. Wound allocation has changed a bit.not super clear as to how.
11. D-weapons toned down but he was unclear as what that meant so from the sounds of it they will still be super ugly. --

Waiting on approval to join the group so I can get a real name. Edit: Got it.

Release Schedule Rumors - May 2014
Late May - Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition
Look for a 2 week release window with the majority of releases on week 1 (May 24th).
Look for all the standard stuff we've grown to expect like the rulebook, templates, psychic cards, mission cards, etc. Week 2 will have a teensy amount of followup products.

June - Orks
This is described as a beefy 3-week release window like we saw with Astra Militarum. Look for the Codex and at least 5 new kits (including both new double and triple combo kits, and clampack HQs), and psychic cards. There will be at least 3 new units introduced and a lot of old Orks models are going away forever as the codex shifts to almost all plastic in the wake of the new releases.

This takes us deep into the June, and look to round out the month with a 1 week break from 40K. could be WFB, Hobbit, or even Citadel hobby stuff.

Starter Set Rumors - May 2014
Blood Angels (suitably bedazzled)
- Brother-Captain w/JumpPack
- Tactical Squad (10)
- Assault Squad (5)
- Terminator Squad (5)
- Dreadnaught with Autocannon and Multi Melta (?)

- Limited Edition: Sanguinary Priest

Orks
- Warboss
- Weirdboy
- Shoota Boyz Mob (10 or 20, conflicting reports)
- Slugga Boyz Mob (10 or 20, conflicting reports)
- Kommandoz Mob (5)
- Mega-nobz Mob (5)

Extras
- "Orkified" Aegis Defense Line (no gun)
- Misc. small Objectives
Don't be surprised to see the starter paint set change to Blood Angels.

Blood Angels Rumors - May 2014
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212
Be prepared for the Blood Angels update, its closing fast upon the release date. A few models have been reworked, use of vehicles, and weapons previously not in the codex will be getting added to the codex. We should be having a few of the new BA appearing before the codex is released.

Granted, is it even worth adding? Blood Angels are going to be updated sometime! No date, nothing specific at all. Jus the usual "of course" things like a new unit, new weapons being added, and a cryptic "we'll see models before the codex is released!". Not trying to be combative, but go ahead and add me to the rumor tracker- Dark Eldar will eventually be updated, with new units, some units in plastic, and new weapon options!

Spoiler:

I spoke with my FLGS guy who talked to the GW rep this morning. Not all of my questions were answered, but here is what I heard that is not something already all over the internet. This assumes the GW rep had his facts straight, and the FLGS guy relayed them correctly via the game of telephone.

Battle Brothers

Eldar/DE
Chaos/Daemons
All Imperium

All others were convenience, desperate or apocalypse.

No answer as to whether you can join units of battle brothers.

Psychic Phase

Roll a D6 and add the total mastery levels of all your psykers. You get that many power dice and your opponent gets that many DTW dice.

To cast a power, you need to roll a 4+ for every warp charge of the power you're using. So warp charge 2 = two 4+, meaning you'd need 4 power dice to have an average shot.

Your opponent dispels the power with a roll of a 6 on their dice. So the more dice they have, the more shots they get at rolling that 6 to cancel out that critical power. I was told that the mastery level of the psyker dispelling the power lowers the roll needed to dispel it. So a ML2 psyker dispels on a 5+, ML3 on a 4+. etc...

That is what I was told.

That seems wrong to me because Fateweaver, Eldrad and Ahriman could dispel anything on a 3+. More likely, I would think you compare mastery levels between the casting psyker and the dispelling psyker, and apply a bonus that way. This is conjecture. What I wrote above is what I was told.

What I also don't know is if there is a dice limit a psyker can use to cast or dispel a power based on their mastery level. I also don't know if you need two 6's to dispel a ML2 power. I assume you do.

You would figure Adamantium Will would give you +1 to DTW for powers cast at a unit with that rule.

Jink Save

Jink is a 4+, however it is no longer always on. You must declare a jink to claim it, and if you do so, it's snapshots only in the next phase.

Sweeping Advance

Unchanged. You do not consolidate into a new combat.

And that's all I got that's new! So you can go runtelldat.

There may be a supplement this fall dedicated to organized play. With 7th edition Foc really dedicated to the narrative style of play in the new rulebook, this new supplement will cater to pick up games and organize game play. In that regards, previous rumors of percentages and side boards are in as an alternate way to play the game.
The timeline for such a supplement would be this fall before November. Also coming are more regular FAQ's once the new rulebook is released, but with very little interest in Erratas where rules or information are changed. It is felt that once the new rulebook is out, that more effort for FAQs is needed.

Here a set of rumours from a source that prefers to stay anonymous:

The new mid size stompa thing looks like a pregnant Deff Dread. Comes with various weapon mountings, including what looks like a KFF.
New Gretchin models, including a grot oiler.
New mega nobs, not plastic versions of the existing.
Big Mek in mega armour with some interesting KFF like add ons.
Big Mek in Mega Armour with shoulder mounted weapons, maybe SAG but doesn't look like it.
Warboss is similar to the remodelling of the Helbrute from Dark Vengeance, it looks like a reworking of the AOBR Warboss with an attack Squig
New Pain Boy with a kind of Narthecium cybork hand.
Flash Gitz (They look particularly awesome, very much like Freebootaz with loads of variation in the kit).
Big Gunz. Total redesign.

New Dok looks to be nob sized. Quite likely a character. Cybork hand could be a PK but it has fingers. Well... scalpels and syringes.
Both look mono pose.
Those MANZ are the new ones for sure. Overall design is very similar to existing, but they're not the same models.

On the question about Big Gunz:

Imagine devastator marines, but orks. Crazy guns, with other guns bolted on. Pirate hats, mohicans, cigars, waaagh banners with plenty of shiny bits.
I can't really say much more, shouldn't even have said this. The anonymous source Kroot posted a while back was me.
Seen stuff, and as an Ork player I am massively hyped for it all.
No idea what waves it comes in, or if some is for the alleged/debunked starter or what, but all the models I saw are beautiful.

I think there are five configurations of Big Gunz on the way.
There may well be a larger meganob, with buzz saws rather than klaws. Possibly with Nazdreg/Specialist Big Mek in same box.

Theory; the new (Restyled AOBR) Warboss with Squigg could be Warlord Grukk as mentioned in the Dark Millenium book from the 7th set.

Mad Dok with Narthecium hand could be Grotsnik.

Ork Rumors - May 2014
New normal Grots that look to be parts of other kits.

Ork Rumors - May 2014
Yup. There's a model on the way with mega armour and KFF, seems we may be able to take both.

Gretchin Big Gunz have had a full redesign. Much bigger.
Ghaz, Snikrot and Kommandos aren't sold out. ANd I don't think they're getting redone.

Formation - 'ork warband' - warboss, mek, unit of nobs, six boys mobs, one unit of grots. Gives Boss of the Waaagh! Greenskin Hordes and Stampede rules.

Boss of the Waaagh! Lets you re-roll your warlord trait if taken as a primary detachment.

Greenskin Hordes. "Evey unit with ten or more models in the detachment gains the Hammer of Wrath special rule... and in every assault phase in which is successfuly charges an enemy unit the dice rolled for it's charge range in ten or more before modifers..." The wording here is confusing; not sure if it means that Hammer of Wrath only works if you roll ten or more, or if there was another rule which got cut out.

Stampede! If the formation's warboss is your warlord, he can use his Waaagh! special rule each and every turn after the first. This implies that warbosses have a special rule called 'Waaagh!' which usually can't be used every turn.

Detachment 'ork horde'. HQ, three troops, elite, fast attack, heavy support, fortification and Lord of War. Gives Greenskin Hordes and Boss of the Waaagh! Not sure if 'elite, fast attack and heavy support' was meant to mean one of each is compulsory.
