Hello world!

I am a longtime Eldar play who has recently gotten back into the game after five years. I mostly am in it for the painting but I will try and get some games in every so often. My long term goal is to paint every Eldar model ever made (I already own maybe 75% of them) Crazy goal I know but I've got to have dreams! Anyway my first officially finished model, a fire dragon! A note on bases is that I'm never going to play in any real official capacity so I'm basing the models as what I think looks aesthetically best, that means all infantry on 32mm and oval bases for the bikes.

Hope you enjoy, glad to be here!

Welcome to Dakka for a start and I must say it's always nice to see another Eldar blog here!

You've got a great goal set for yourself and I wish you luck! That fire dragon is lovely and the contrast of orange and blue is really nice. Well done!

Subbed.

I love the Fire Dragon! Lovely painting. Arguably the most beautiful miniatures in 40k... some of them seem to never age. Good luck with this project!

Welcome! I eagerly await seeing this develop. Your paint skills are evident, so this promises to be quite a show.

Wow, awesome. I too have an old Eldar army, and have had fun painting the figs - and little desire to upgrade to the newer plastics in many cases!

I look forward to seeing what's next

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Wow! This I Gotta see. There have just been so many great Eldar miniatures over the years you really have such an endless choice and I can't see talent like yours missing a home run on any of them.

Excellent choice for a starter too. What a stonking good Fire dragon!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone it's certainly going to help my motivation! I've been batch painting four other dragons (and feugan!) I'll post some pictures once they start looking interesting. I also have finished my fist model in the Rogue Trader Box, which is my current distraction when I'm not painting pointy ears. I'm a pretty big sucker for these board game/theme boxed sets, Blackstone Fortress is certainly next on the list as my "b" project.

just cleaned up my workspace because I got brand new full spectrum bulbs for my lamps, my workstation is like the surface of the sun now! With those new bulbs I've been experimenting with my photography and I've been able to achieve a much whiter background, let me know what you think! (I also fixed the fire dragon rune which was missing its horns )

That looks absolutely lovely. I think Fire Dragons always look great with a certain amount of black in addition to red/orange.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
