I got these two models of Langton miniatures. The smaller 3rd rate 74 gun ship is HMS Alexander. this was my first 1:1200 scale miniature. The larger is HMS Victory a 100 gun beauty and the first ship with enough crew to fire all the guns at once. Technically its finished but I would like to add some rigging and smoke from the guns like its shooting but I need a 0.2 mm drill bit.

Lovely stuff.

I have a load of Spanish, French and English ships from Langtons sitting on my shelf for the last 3 years, staring at me, willing me to paint them.

How did you find assembling them? I found it a bit of a pain involving some swears and glued fingers. To add insult to injury, I knocked one off the shelf the other day and snapped two masts.

Yes I find as they are so small the glue gets stuck on your fingers. Sorry about the masts. Also I'm never getting the sails I got for victory again as the top always falls of. My next boat might be a small 6th rate but I'll sculpt the base like it is in a storm, or just get a few French ships and add some cotton wool to the guns as if they are firing and say its part of the battle of Trafalgar.

With the assembly its not just me that finds you need to file down the front of the boat so the angled mast (sorry forgot name) doesn't hit the foremast, is it?
