So I have been playing alot of blood bowl on fumbbl and was inspired to start building my own stadium. My first thought was that I would never have the time and play a full game of BB on the table top so I started to search for a way to play the game in a shorter amount of time and stumbled upon the rule for BB7s. I really like the new miniatures GW has been putting out so I decided to make my square 34mm like the full size board squares. I live in the Appalachian mountains so the inspiration for my board was to be a mossy medow in the forest with some patches of grass, if not we'll kept at least mowed prior to a game. These are amature blood bowlers after all.

The first picture shows that I cut the board the fit as a table lead to my normal kitchen table. Holes were drilled in the edge of the board to allow the board to slide into the pegs like a table leaf. I didn't bother with dowels on the other edge as the board slid into the spot I wanted Nicely and rested on some metal tabs that hold up the normal table leafs.

Next I measured out my rectangle taped it off then started basing it brown. This sounds easy but it was actually less than. Apparently my math skills are not that great or the board itself was slightly off square I really don't know which. In the end I just picked a point and worked from it to create my rectangle and checked it with a speed square. I guess I will see how well I did when it comes time to mark out the individual squares on the pitch which I will be doing with dots not a lined grid because I think lined grids on a football field look silly

The third picture shows after I had painted on some glue and h2o mixture on the board and then added some medium ballast. I saved my paint water and glue mixture to use later when I painted over that again with paint h2o and glue. I used tacky glue for this entire project including the last picture which shows the finnished flocked board which has been sprayed with glue and water to hopefully keep the playing surface from wearing out too quickly next I will paint on the grid, lines and, any endzone art. I won't have a midfield art and will probably keep endzone art simple cause again this is minor league blood bowl. You will notice that I have black dots on the edges of the board so that all I have to do is line up two straight edges to make my dots on the points they need to be

Today I drew out my grid and added lines to the field. I made a mistake by making the lines in both endzones go the same way instead of opposite directions. So I just made xs in both endzones which I think turned out ok. I may fill the xs in with white and whatever team color I choose to be the stadiums home team but idk yet I'm kind of digging the simplicity right now.

That looks really cool. Needs a few more blood stains though

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Thank you. I have some Blood for the blood god but need to go buy some red paints. I live in an extremely rural area so I will take my weekly trip to civilization to buy some dark red paint and apply the blood.

Pitch pattern looks really good, but why dont you draw the Line of Scrimage? Do you plan to add some buildings around the pitch?

Yes, the surrounding areas will reflect the amature nature of the game. I'm going to do some wire trees basic stands. (Pretty much wood benches. O do want to do a scoreboard and press booth type thing, dugouts of course, some fencing of some kind. My layout is sort of in the artist mind rather than very well planned out and I will see where that takes me for better or worse

Not a huge update but I did paint the area outside the pitch brown for it's undercoat and put some Gore on the field. I tried the tooth brush flick trick but it just didn't seem to work for whatever reason still I am happy with the results. Take a look and tell me what you think

Today with my hobby time I chose to paint a rat. A skaven thrower more specifically. Let me preface with saying that my primer job went sour and the model was a little rough to the touch before I painted it. Perhaps I should have gone over these rough spots with some black paint first. Second I use cheap paint. I splurge on ink and technical paint but otherwise I just use Americana paint pretty much all the way around. My painting quality is table top perhaps one could argue it is slightly above but they would need to be a skilled debator to do so. I really doubt that too quality paint would bring my work up so much more and I don't have that kind of cash anyway. Lastly I am a terrible photographer. I tried the best I could. Here are the results.

Another update. I added my dougouts with a product that is like cement that you lay over the top of a sticker that looks like stone pattern. Pull the sticker off and voila. I also built some trees out of forest wire and am currently painting on some letex product that makes it look less like twisted up wires. I think I have pictured only 2 but have made 5 one pine one Willow (pictured) one tall and 3 short generic trees. Should help my board come to life a bit. Also not pictured. I have made some rocks and half logs for my stands out of air drying clay and some molds made for the purpose. More pics to come stay tuned and don't hesitate to comment.

Some painted and flocked wire trees did some small ones first as a test.

I'm enjoying this. Nice stadium, and for me, the sort of crude layout nature makes it really fit your idea of a 3rd (or worse) tier field. Trees came out nice. And your skaven team looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Mounted two trees score boards and the stands (half logs and rocks. The stands are blank but I will paint them later to make them look more real) I can see that the 6 trees I am working on will not be enough. I guess I'll Finnish the trees I have then monut them to see what needs filling in.
