It was a boring Retirement Party for someone I didn't know. They did have beer though. So it was ok.

Then took the girls to the beach on Saturday, and then to a friend's party after. It was a fun but exhausting day.

I did some work done on the new Plasma Pistol. Almost done, then I will show you guys.

Question: Do you think it should have the power cable from the handle, like the Old Kharn?

I wanted to, but there is nothing to attach it to now that I have that arm bare. I could force it to aatach to his belt or something, but it might look odd.

Let me know what you think.

i am not in favor for the power cable... as a brute like kharne needs his hands free and all, not to get tangled up in cables, intestines and so on...

as for the weekends spent with exhausting stuff...just came in from a 16 km bike hike with the kids...my six year old son was on his own bike too... through streets, fields an wood...sheesh...^^

I do agree Vic, but in re-creating Kharn, do I try to hold as close to the original as possible? Or do I take some artistic licence?

I have made a cable with my GS tube maker, as soon as it cures, I'll tack it on, and we'll see how it looks.

Here is what the Plasma Pistol looks like right now, It might just be beefy enough to pass without the extra power cable.


And here is where Kharn's Knee pad and belt skulls are as of now.



The belt skull looks a bit squishy, I'll carve sharper lines after it cures.

And I still have some work to do on the Axe.

the plasma pistol loogs good... i understand that the metal under the barrel is cables?...or not?
the plasma cord looks very good... but what is that blob at the back?...will that get a treatment soon?
all in all it is a rather respective work...and if i am asked... feth classic... as i see it the original was rather underwhelming compared to your work...

Finally done. I am going with no Plasma Pistol Cable.
But I wanted to show what it looks like with and without it:




Yeah, I think it looks better without it too. Just wanted to make sure.


So, here are some more pics, different angles of the finished Kharn. I will have him base painted later today.

Well, hopefully. I was doing some casting this morning, and I think the resin I was using is crap. The stuff left in the mixing pot, which I usually use to test if the resin has set enough for me to de-mold, is still runny after a couple of hours. The resin has a 20 minute demold time (supposedly), so it looks like I need more resin.

Anyway Here are the pics: (Vik, notice the Skull on the pistol. )

Kharn currently has a black undercoat, and a dark red basecoat. I will probably not get around to more until I head up North to work in a week or so. That's really the only place I can get my paints out without having the girls want to paint my minis too.

I have some for them to paint, but it just makes a huge mess that I'd rather not deal with.

In a few years, when they have better motor control, I'll let them paint more.

nice bone elements, and the glistening look on the skin and the wings remind me strongly of the evl main character from legend...

Legend! Great Movie!

I didn't realize when I was putting it together that the Bloodletter head is a mask.

Instead of a lower jaw, it has the chin of the "human" wearing the mask. If I had seen this before painting, I would have sculpted a more impressive jaw and teeth.

Oh well, live and learn.

OK, I finished with the highlights and touch-ups. I am very happy with the Khorne Spawn! I may have put a bit more time into painting than a mere "Spawn" usually deserves, but I'm glad I did.





After seeing these pictures I realized I forgot the teeth! So, here is the last picture:



Also, I am painting up an Old School Berzerker. Mostly for some variety, I have plenty of stuff to paint, but this one has been calling to me. Still a work in progress, the picture was taken right after I applied a wash. I'll get more later..


I've been using Vallejo Model Air - Fire Red for the armor and daemon flesh.

I love the color! And it goes on so smooth! My FLGS ran out, or was never stocked with it, they weren't sure. Anyway, I was down to my last few drops!

So I ordered it online knowing that it would never get to me before I left for the North, so I sent it up to myself work. I have been told it could take weeks to get stuff up there, but I did it anyway.

Well, it made it in 5 days!! So, just as I ran out of the paint, my cavalry has arrived!

Neal at The War Store really does a great job bringing the War to your Front Door!

Your conversions are just plain crazy. I love them. Excellent converted plasma pistol on that crazy Kharne.

i was actually asking myself what color you used... was questioning my monitor´s capability to show a true red...so good of you to solve that one^^...

also... that spawn is condensed evil... really... not often have i seen a mini that emits that effect that way...
(i have to add tho that the teeth look a tiny bit dumb...it hints a bit of dumb horseface...probably a thin wash could fix that... i bet khorne spawns dont do bleaching...right?...)

You can thank Viktor here for the plasma pistol conversion, he goaded me into making something more substantial than the original.

Good call on the teeth Vic, but I was thinking of adding blood flowing from the mouth later, like he just bit into some guardsman's neck or something. Was going to wait until I painted the other 4. So, we'll see.

Also, I have been messing around with different colors for the "Brass" on my Berzerkers. 2 ways of getting there, both look similar.


Left Side is GW-Balthazar Gold with a highlight of P3-Rhulic Gold.
Right Side is P3-Rhulic Gold with a Brown Wash.
