Thanks guild! I finally finished myself and it feels good to be done with them. Thankfully my army isn't too tactical heavy so I really only had to do 30 before I moved onto some sweet special units.

Speaking of which I did in fact complete the last 5 tactical marines tonight, and will be working on the apothecary and maun tomorrow hopefully finishing them before the weekend starts. But in the mean time I made a test scheme for the more deythan cloaks. After my talk with para I decided to go with a mid transition for the cloak so it would keep it unique for the masters of stealth (literally the mor deythan could go invisible like corax). But I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it since I don't want to mess up nice models like these.

I think that looks great, all I'd do is add a pure white at the very, very centre of the transition line, just to really make it pop.

That cloak is amazing. It looks very real and the transition is brilliantly executed.

That is a good idea I will have to try that on the test model tonight!

Thanks man! I was surprised that it came out so well on my first try

Well as promised here are the more stylized pictures of the last ten tactical squad guys. I am currently working on the apothecary and hope to have him done by friday at the latest and then I will start work on maun and after that the mor deythan!

Love the camo cloak Great job as usual bud!

I also like the fluff-tastic Raven Guard skin tones there too
Are those the Legion decals on there too?

I am glad you like the skin tones! I always try and go fluffy with them and it pains me to see them with non white or grey skin tones. As for the decals yes they are legion! They are probably my favorite out of all of the legions because they are super unique

Glad you like the skin! As I have said previously it always feels weird when you get RG with ruddy or peach colored skin so I try and make it more fluff like. Plus is helps give some contrast to the model(s).

Well as promised I have almost finished the apothecary. All that is left is to finish up the vials, the last step for highlights, and a few other details but I should be done early afternoon or late morning depending on when I get up and get back from the gym. Otherwise enjoy!

Brilliant idea for the cloaks, can't wait to see them on the some finished models.

Nice work on the apothecary so far.

I reckon the MD's cloaks are ripe for some camouflage effects, though I'm not sure what type would work best with the basing/scheme.

Yeah that is the problem I was thinking of. The specific color for the cape and the pattern. Stripes are out because of the base pattern (maybe tiger stripes? But that seems kinda rouge trader ish to me) digital would be tough, mottled maybe. I could just do a solid color with highlights obviously also

What about something like Flecktarn, but in shades of grey? (Because Raven Guard)

Spoiler:

That would work, my only qualm would be the fact that a grey would blend into the base a bit too much (and I really am liking the transition effect). But I will be doing a small squad of IG for my AoP board waiting to ambush my dark mechancis so I think a red cloak in that scheme would be cool.

As promised though I have finished the apothecary and he came out..well a lot more bloody than his counterpart

Thanks man I can say the same about your ultras (and your insane painting speed ) as for the cloaks I am glad they worked out well and I am chomping at the bit to start them.

Alright I started work on my kitbashed Maun model today, he is made out of a master of signals body and vox caster, a 40k marine mohawk head (maun has a mowhawk in the fluff) and a BaC powersword and bolt pistol combo. I should have him finished up tomorrow just in time to watch the bastardbowl on GoT

Loving the power sword here mate. Hate doing power field effects myself, so just stick with a glaze of Guilliman Blue for a more subtle approach.

I think I have seen that one before, isn't it a tutorial on warhammerTV?

Well as promised I have finished Maun (and well before the bastardbowl on game of thrones). He was a fun kitbash, but I am kinda sad that FW hasn't made a model for him because I think they could do a lot better than I would modeling wise. Up next is 5 mor deythan and I was able to find 10 old school legion combi flamers (the ones without the hands molded into the gun) so they will have actual 30k guns instead of 40k combi weapons

Awesome stuff! Great model and paintjob.

Just a couple op tips on the pics, as I know that's something you're working on. Don't take this as criticism, just trying to help you show off the models the best you can.
- Don't crop in some much on all the pics. The odd close zoom is good for showing off cool details, but I reckon you want at least a front and back shot with a fair bit of space around the model so we can get a good look at the whole composition.

- Maybe don't use the jagged border on the individual pics, it's eating into the aforementioned space that 'frames' the model. It's cool on the outer border, but a bit much on the internal borders.

- Have you considered using a different/darker background? Not sure what it is, but a couple of your recent pics are a bit washed out, which might be to do with the background.

Hope that's of some help!

Nah man any help with taking pictures (my weakest point of the hobby) is always helpful and welcome! As for the darker background I have been using my phone camera but forgetting to adjust the exposure value so that may be it.

Yeah, it could definitely be an exposure issue. Alternatively, try upping the contrast a bit in the editor, that might do it.

Heretic tom linked his lex page, but basically he was second in command to corax on the way down to the battlefield and he saved him during the drop site massacre.

Well as promised I did a lot more work on the mor deythan (after much hemming and hawing). I took some advice and added a small white line to the camo cloak transition line and I believe that it worked out really well. Also for the shoulder paldrons instead of making them white I decided to go with a very dark iron look (basically leadbelcher with two coats of agrax, and a coat of drakenhof followed by a edge highlight of leadbelcher and for the studs ironbreaker). All that is left is to finish up the edge highlights for the armor, and some other small bits and bobs. Thankfully I found some guy on ebay selling 10 of the old school legion combi flamers that would actually fit the mor deythan so they dont have to use my kitbashed ones made from 40k parts .
