Heya,
Thanks for the kind replies.

About the project? Well, first of all a friend had it as a gift for me. He ordered it from an Australian Ebay seller/shop. The package had two of these.

Ofcourse, happy with that. As the movie certainly is pretty cool (I think) and as a Battlefleet Gothic player.... having the very first warp "capable" vessel in the collection is ace haha.

So, ship is the Event Horizon from the movie with the same name.
Usually I paint a bit brighter but for this I delved into a more grimdark style as I saw it more fitting.

Using the movieposter as a tiny guideline I went for it.

The keel/underside is mostly dark getting blue to the edges. The top and sides is Eclipse Grey (scale75) in several thin layers to gradually build more depth into it.

The brownish colour started with Beastly Brown (vallejo) followed by a wash with sepia. Doing the brown again for highlights.

Using white-yellow for lights around the ship.

And in the end I painted a planet (bit like the movie poster) on the base (purples with a bit blue) with a sun coming over the .... horizon.

(And in the upcoming Warp Rift issue (December) there will be a Battlefleet Gothic scenario using the Event Horizon!)

The model and the paintjob really conveys the menace of the ship. I like how the base replicates the background of the movie poster.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?
