How do!

It’s Saturday! And I’ve nowt on! Except I do! Because today, dear reader, I attempt to push my hobby stamina by building and painting a box of Castellax Battle Automata.

First, to show no cheating, here’s the box, still sealed.

Now to get cracking. Reckon I’ll have the Build done around 2pm?

You sir, are mad.

Box to shelf in a day? I think my best is a week or two turnaround. And normally I work months out.

Godspeed!

Build is taking longer than anticipated, but still coming along nicely.

Stage 1 complete. Now to give them an hour for the plakky glue to cure, and then it’s into the spray box.

Given their shape, I expect the spraying will take three stages to ensure proper coverage. Giving say, half hour between skooshes, should be able to move on to the first drybrush stages by 6pm at the latest.

Sod it, going in the Spray Box now.

And undercoated. Still need to let them dry some. Oh, and I’ve made a from-scratch Jambalya as well. Because today is a productive day.

Well on course now.

Both have had their Mahogany and Gun Metal drybrush.

From here, it’s whip round the bits I need to be copper. I’ll be using the pair I did earlier to remind me exactly where.

After that, it’ll be Ork Flesh on the armour painting, bright up some of the areas I want Gun Metal to balance and brighten. Then it’s just wee dods of red and I’ll be done.

In the tender words of Brian “Damage” Balowski?

Wots it to you, Copper?

Oh arse. Completely missed a bit.

Very bloody incredibly nearly done. But now I must wait for the Ork Flesh to dry. So probably doing the last bits around 8pm.

Think I’ll go have a second plate of Jambalaya.

In the words of the late great James Earl Jones, impressive. Most impressive!

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Quite an accomplishment,

Was a fun challenge.

Not one I’d do regularly, as whilst actual brush slinging doesn’t take that long, the drying time for the glue, undercoat and Contrast tie me down somewhat in terms of what else I can do.

Think I might try this with a Thanatar in due course. It’s the same overall recipe, just like, biggerer.

Congrats, you've completed in a day what would've taken me about a week! These are great, also jambalaya would be exquisite right now.

Thank you

I posted the painting scheme in the relevant board. It’s a quick and dirty approach, but it gets results.

Also, no kids, no pets and no work on the day is a massive help!
