This and some other very nice multipart kit minis would seem likely sooner rather than later... So leaf some space on your Christmas lists eh...

For those of you who disliked the necrotic nature of the Manticore's wings, Raging Heroes has listened! Their latest blog entry shows off the sleek, new wings they have designed for their amazing Manticore and also includes a few new goodies including the concept art for the Lammasu head! Alpharius, hope you're paying attention! Honestly, that lammasu head might make me start up a Chaos Dwarfs army if Warhammer Forge actually makes them a legitimate army again...

It's looking amazing.

Although I do think they could make a killing from Dark Elf players had they planned a armoured looking Elf, and more importantly a crazied, two weapon wielding scantidly clothed female elf.

Hell, I can think of some local D&D players who'd pay good money for an armored looking Elf with a bow option for the rider too

Awesome to see them implement that change so quickly! I do find myself missing the heavy "sinewy" nature of the underside of the first set of wings (these look so smooth) but as I am perfectly happy with either set, it's no issue for me

It's on the list, and I'm checking it twice!!

I'm liking the new wings.

Can't wait to preorder this bugger. I have a $100 prepaid credit card that I recieved as a gift for designing the look for the United Way's recent campaign at the company I worked for over the summer, and I've been saving it just for this bad boy.

Oh, and I'm just wondering, what program do the guys at Raging Heroes use to do their models?

Y'know, I just noticed they kept those weird vestigial "finwings" on the front legs.

Am very curious as to why they kept those on there. They look...out of place.

I think their remedy of supplying armored legs and allowing us to choose a torso is the best way to appease the most amount of people. Between the plastic kits available and bits orders, we can make pretty customized heroes for this thing. A Crone Hellebron stand-in would be neat, but I've seen all of one list on Dakka insist upon taking her. She's very cool but insanely expensive and even more so with the fragile Manticore. I don't think I've heard anyone say "Ya know, if only I had a model for her..."

Kanluwen wrote:Am very curious as to why they kept those on there. They look...out of place.

I see what you mean, but I'm sure a pair of clippers and touch of filing will remedy it for those who don't like them. Quality resin is pretty easy to work with after all.

This thing's gonna be in resin? Holy crap. He gets more intimidating every time I enter this topic!

In all seriousness though, there's really very little that would push me away from buying this monstrosity. If there was one thing that could push me to start fantasy, this would be it. Not that I'll start fantasy. But... if there was a reason to... yeah.

Anyway, still can't wait to preorder.

Fantastic, I like the new head art for the CDwarves, it looks like I'm going to be buying two. The new wings are a vast improvement, and I like the little winglets. They should be relatively easy to shave off it you don't like them.

For those nervous about working with resin, don't be. Just be more patient and triple check fitment and alignment, also be ready to pin any area that you think could be weak. I have tons of FW resin, and despite claims to the contrary I have had no problems that aren't inherant with resin production.

I'll definitely be picking one up once it is released!

One way or another, I'll be building and fielding that Chaos Dwarf ('counts as' for now!) army!

Yes, that would be something... (Though someone has already done a rather nice one, if you don't mind working up a wing swap!)

Not gonna lie, the tree people aren't doing it for me like the other releases have.

But then again, I'm still giddy for my manticore.

Hey hey hey, what are these non-Manticore pictures doing in the Manticore show-off thread? If Privateer Press gets a new post for a new model every other day, so does Raging Heroes!

If we were doing it like the Privateer posters every time, we had at least 13 separate threads for the Dark Eldar November releases alone (one for all 6 plastics, 3 blisters, 2 metal boxes, Codex and the specialty item). Privateer is the last company allowed to clogg the Dakka news forum with thread spam like that. That's why I posted it here.

A new thread created a month later than this one is spam? I'd certainly understand if it was literally multiple posts per week (a la PP) we could consider such, but a month seems like a healthy gap between product details considering they are very different products unlike the multiple DE releases which were all released at the same time.

I do think those fellas deserve their own thread, since they're being released tomorrow (!!!!!) and the manticore doesn't have a release date yet / is still being finalized (at least as far as the lammasu head goes).

I don't know if it's a remote possibility they could finish this by Christmas, but I'm fine with waiting . Hard to justify buying myself "gifts" this time of year, after all...

Having only just found this thread not seen the previous wings.
Not sure about the new wings tbh.

But for a company to listen and make changes I can only praise them for that.
The Manticore model is a SCARY beastie!
It looks powerful and the pose is good imho.

Excellent model. Hats off to Raging Heroes

I really liked the old wings, as they made the model very unique. The new wings look bland compared to the detail on the old wings.
