lifter section looks dead sexy!... never thought about adding that to an airship...why? I have no clue... seeing it know it looks totally dumb I havenĀ“t yet included it to me last try ...
The first ship I was stationed on had a hanger bay that we had 2 helos in. I think ya need to add some type of traversing sled. Like what is on it to get them from your lift to the pad...your helos don't have wheels after all.
Here are 2 pics I found on the interwebs that might give you a idea.

You are truly a madman for taking this task on, and for that I commend you. One thing you might want to look at though is that the body wok that you made is held together with little strips while the body work of the Stompa doesn't have any of these. If you simply added some small strips of plasticard here and there on the Stompa then i believe your work and the Stompa body would merge much better
first time ive seen this, love it, my airship/hover is not as epic as that, but i will try to keep it in line with that one hahaha

ok Update time, Day 7, 56 hours of work so far
ok section 2 basic build today, ground floor, i went with a Ork hight all over, ie 1 and a half inch high
section 2 floor 1
section 2 floor 2, i've added magnets to them so they sit nice and tight.
and here it is, looking all epic and that, cant wait to get some guns on it, going to add the 2 BIG guns from the stompa model at the front, like you see on a WW2 battle ship.
as you can see, i've changed the back, no lift, i felt it didnt look right, plus the engines are going to be in that area so no matter how much ork will power this things has, its still needs a place for them to go, even in the make believe world.
i like it better anyway
did a little on the back, not much tho
hard a look at a FW Cannon, i do love them, and there not to hard to copy, we will see where i go, got loads of weapons with the stompa's

had a play with the top deck, i liked the way the guy did his wood look with the plastic card, so i had a play and liked it, so my deck is getting a wood look. have a look on here http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=48393
been having a play with the decks, really like how they are coming along, im going to put some free standing orks with big guns dotted around, i think it will look really good
ok, i need your help, i want to keep this a flying ship but i am struggling to think of a way to make it look like it flys without going OTT, what should i do ? shall i just make it into a boat ? HELP ? feel free to use photo shop or a drawing program.
I think you should try something like the Avengers Sky Fortress type propeller side sponsons. You could magnetize them too, so you can have the best of both worlds. Plus add some rockets in for forward movement because well... it would look proper ork like on both a Sky Fortress and a Battle Ship.
Could go Zeppelin- use wiring to construct an envelope, then cover it over with paper mache for the skin- 'd be able to add orky bits all over that, then, and it wouldn't increase the weight too much.
Or Miyazaki- tons of little tiny propellers and paddles all over the thing, which really shouldn't be able to successfully lift or move the thing, but do anyways.
Gork/Mork/WAAAGH!! powered hovering, with big glowy green light pods on the bottom and sides, ala Extra Terrestrial style ships?
Or the Helicarrier route.
Or have it suspended on a flock of birds or gargoyles or something.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.
If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

Course, da' best mek's are, so I guess that doesn't matter I cannot wait until this thing is finished! I'm loving how it's turning out so far. You asked what you could do with the back, why not make it a huge bomb compartment? Could dump a large one on da' 'umies wif a pay load dat size. OR, (it might be too late now...) you should have made he end a huge mess of exaust pipes/engines. But hey, anything that you do is going to look epic. Keep up the good work.
As I said before, I think it just needs one insanely huge rocket thruster at the back. It's a suitably orky solution and will look dyno. The diameter should probably be about 150% of the height of the hull and mounted centrally to the cross section. You can build in some flickering LEDs or battery tea lights and cover it with painted cotton smoke at the end. It'd look amazing.
I'm thinking you should do a Miyazaki type thing, like what Anvildude said, but with rocket clusters around it as well. Also, maybe a giant propeller at the back?Kind of like a swamp boat, but thicker, orkier, and maybe it has rockets in is blades? So it has a funny swirling corkscrewing flame effect, if you add lights/smoke effect.

i don't know if you know the disney comic tale spin, but a flying mechanic like the one form the "iron vulture" would look pretty orky in my opinion.
some propellers to keep it barely afloat and two huge ones for accelerating. sounds to me like only orks/you could it make work :-)

i do like your idea mate, but i want to keep the ship sleek and slim, i was thinking of some big ish jets at the back with some wing things on the side, but up woulds ones like what "Kause not santa" did on his big ass ship.

Zeppelin = no no no sorry really dont like that idea mate
think i'm going to have like i said in the post before, big ish jet and maybe some small ones, to make it look like they would keep it up and straight
