Second American squad let's go

Realised that the school holidays are ending in a couple of days, so my miniature gaming club is starting up again this Wednesday, and I haven't started painting the buildings of the Military Compound kit so the kids can play on new terrain. So, I started painting away. Decided to paint them like the box art because it looks cool. Not a fan of painting terrain, but getting through it!

Built a HH Rhino.
Now to build the squad that'll ride in it....

Worked on an AT Warlord Titan, got the base colours down with some masking.

Worked on my BB Rat Ogre and my Ogre team.

Made more progress on my buildings, applying grey wash and wiping off the excess with a tissue. Trying for a bit of a dirty look, and it's looking good! Also realised school holidays doesn't finish until the 28th so have more time to get them finished, which was good.

Flipped a coin - Heads: work on more HH Marines OR Tails: build a Scorpious Whirlwind.

Fiinnished...? My first two buuildings? Today? Not sure. And began painting another Gaunt's Ghost proxy. Hoping the weather is good tomorrow to prime the other two buildings.

Looking for a Epic scale Autocannon I dropped on the floor last weekend. I've looked everywhere and the damn thing is just not getting found. Its like whenever you do laundry, you lose exactly one sock, mysteries of the world which might never be solved..

Blocking in metallics is in my future this evening (sadly) for my BB team and my warlord titan.

I swear there's a wormhole under my hobby table that only swallows things roughly SM shoulder pad size or smaller.

Blocked in my Death Guard Lord of Virilance for base colors and gave him a wash of Agrax.

Blocked in the base coats for 24 Bretonians Men-At-Arms. Added Stirland Mud to their bases. Blocked in the base coats for 24 Archers.

Getting anxiety about how to paint my knights.

Today the world Eaters fight back-to-back battles.
1st up, Necrons. Against a relatively new player returning from some distant dusty past edition. He gets to fight a "softer" version of the list.
2nd is a veteran players Space Sharks Marines. He gets a much harder iteration.
Both should be good games.

Ok, I was wrong about both being good games.
The Necron game was close fought model-wise, though I did beat him soundly on VP.
The Space Shark Marines? :( I all but tabled him in two turns. I lost a single ex.8bound.

My Talons of the Emperor kit arrived, so I'm gonna take a look at the sprue and start cleaning up Valerian's legs and torso. Still waiting on some replacement bits for the repose, so I'm not not going to get it all done today. Also debating on how to change Aleya - got a SoS flamer in the mail because I feel like that's her main thing, but I also want to showcase the large sword. Maybe it's going on her back.

Yesterday, I primed and zenithal highlighted the two other buildings of the Military Compound kit. I then began painting the red parts. I was planning on painting the red bits on both but it got too tedious and too late so only finished it on one.

Now you mention red parts? Just remembered I’ve a bunch of coloured citadel sprays in the Magic Box O’Stuff. Originally bought for Sector Mechanicum scenery, I’m now wondering if I might be able to put them to use on my Epic scenery.

Hmm.

Anyway, I decided to make the wall longer of my Military Compound kit and I had to pull apart another building to get the wall bits and replace them with floor parts. It wasn't fun, but got there. I then upgraded the wall, making more work for myself and painted the red parts on that wall and a barracks-like building which was my goal for the night. Now, onto the black parts.

Finished painting the black parts of the Military Compound and began applying red wash to the red parts.

Finished my Military Compound today! And very happy with them. Now, I have to start assembling the Landing Zone, which is a separate kit, which is one big building and one small one, so it should be much easier. Was going to start assembling it today, but too tired. Might post some photos tomorrow.

Giving 3 of my World Eaters leftover HH powerfist/L.claws to serve as eviserators.
And, since those are all right hand bitz, swapping their plasma pistols to the left hand.

Also building a box of LI Arvus Lighters.

I realised I also wanted to work on the extra things for the Military Compound, such as a couple of fortification walls and a couple of turrets (I couldn't find one, though) as well as a few other things. I primed them and realised I likely don't have enough Mechanicus Standard Grey to use on the landing pad, so might have to place that on the back burner.

I also taped out some hazard stripes on said walls and began painting them, which was not a lot of fun, will get it done tomorrow, hopefully.

Then it's time to build 16 more LI Basilisks.

Yesterday I bought pith helmets with gas masks from Anvil Industries for my Kasrkin, and from Victoria Miniatures pith helmeted heads and hollowed out pith helmets for regular guard (newer models such as lord solar and cavalry) to fill out my Preatorians.

Tonight I work on M'baku's [MCP] cape and skin, and clean/ sort my games room after a big purge at a local buy, swap and sell meet on the weekend.

Finished taping and painting the hazard stripes on my two barricades, as well as the turret and a few other things. Also applied washes on the red parts. Waiting for them to dry to apply a grey wash to the entirety of the barricades.

Looking for STLs on thingiverse that might work for Ork Trukks.

I'm painting some heightbound with a pre heresy colour scheme for a friend.

I’m drawing pictures of birds making a Burrows and Badgers themed webcomic that nobody reads or asked for.

Also attempting to finish a write up of the second Tonks Tournament Semi-Final that I can only assume more people would read than care for my bird comic, if I actually got it written up.

Undercoating about 6 MCP models and continuing to paint M'Baku

Finished the additional 16 LI Basilisks this evening.
Brings my artillery detachment up to 24 guns.

Finished painting up my barricades today and I set up some minis for display. Tomorrow is the 1st day back for my miniature gaming club so it's cool to have these new buildings ready. Here are some photos!
