Skarbrand was released by pre-2016 GW, which is a pretty significant point imo. I'd expect the 'new' GW to put the LoC at $115 so it matches the Thirster.

I've heard several people getting the Skarbrand kit and it having all 3 Sprues, but I have not witnessed this myself.

Also keep in mind the Skarbrand is on a ROUND base (not sure if 80mm or 100mm), while BloodThirster comes on an OVAL base. I'd imagine that would change that size comparison a bit.
I hoping the LoC isn't THAT tall. Mainly because that means Fateweaver, the old frail T5 geezer, would also be that huge.

Yes , a keeper must look like that. Maybe with some of the optional parts for those that like it

Well that's what I'm getting at, but a bit less "Crab Bull" and a bit more "otherworldy" like that pic I posted.

Still needs the generally bull-shaped head and the crab claws though.

Yep, and the price increase is still as confusing today as it was back then.

Just going by the information on the webstore they should be separate kits. If Skarbrand did come with all three sprues, they could drop the standard Bloodthirster box.

The One and Only!!

I really hope they keep to this design for the new one,
originally the KoS was the only Slaanesh Demon to be bulky,
it represents the fact that Slaanesh kept violence as a last gap measure,
rather than a first choice.

Please be it like this picture!
I my opinion, all other representations, either the "alien" look
or the giant deamonette from FW just doesn't make it.

May be for for a deamon prince,

Nice details, but the whole design just don't fit in my opinion
(which is just this: my opinion).

I really hope they keep the original design and we get
at least one cooow head to boot!

I'd be careful what you wish for. This was from the studio design video they did for the 2012 Chaos Daemon codex update.

I think the only things that can be said about any future KOS: is it will have 4 arms, claws, horns, and at least one breast. Beyond that their all supposed to be unique anyway, so...

Not really. I think it's nice to have some size difference between them. Plus the Tzeentch guys are all about the tall gangly types.

It's not really a quality control issue anyway, it's a design thing. Looking at the comparison, they'll be similar heights if the BT uses the flames, and the LoC is taller and spindlier.

it would be a quality control issue since fluff suggest that the bt is bigger and beefier than a loc; which wouldnt be represented model wise.

A bit like cadian being bigger than marines is also a quality control issue

Spoiler:

Me too. It is still a great design. The FW model is nice and I would like to be able to build both styles with a future plastic kit. But to be honest the latter is basically an upscaled Daemonette model. I think the original Keeper of Secrets were more interesting and diverse, but that's personal taste and all.

The new Lord of Change - which looks fantastic tbh - kept true to its oldschool design, so did all the recent (2010+) lesser daemons and the Bloodthirster. Maybe a future KoS will return to its original style as well - at least as an optional build.

The Beastmen Gorgon (sp?) makes for a good Keeper of Secrets conversion and I will probably pick one up for such a project. It is much cheaper than the actual greater daemon kits. By using a Glottkin, all four deities can now be built from plastic kits.

I still hope we will see dedicated plastics for the missing elite daemon units like Spawns of Nurgle and Fiends of Slaanesh in the not too far future. Only Tzeentch got theirs so far.

Design choices =/= Quality control.

A thing can be designed poorly, but still be a good quality product, or vice versa.

Not only that but I fairly certain there isn't any fluff that says "All Bloodthirsters are larger than all Lords of Change", that's just your own personal headcannon.

And, I might be wrong about this as I don't own the models myself, the current LoC was taller than the previous Bloodthirster, however the 'thirster had larger wings and was more muscled compared to the spindly frame of the LoC.

Expected lower sales volume = higher price. Pretty standard approach. Same reason many special character clampacks cost more; the vast majority of customers will only ever buy one.

For a creature supposing to embody a greater form of Change, I think it's just as busy as it should be. Just me though.

Yes but there is a difference between adding additions to the minis to make it pop more, and adding stuff to it for gaks and giggles. I mean why are there Tzeentch symbols attached to the wings? What purpose do they serve other then to extend the amount of time it takes to paint the damn thing?

I mean It's pretty, sure, and could probably use a slightly better colour scheme (maybe a little purple/pink to give it more of a Tzeentch feel). But, like, come on.

Bunch'a people on /tg/ have talked about how it would be better with a more subdued paint scheme. Some people shopped different versions, even one that just darkened everything, and it looks pretty good; much better than the GW paint job.

This paintjob is absolutely stellar. I would love it is instead of photoshopping, those folks went ahead and tried to paint it up to this standard but darker. See how they do. Heh.
