Hello everyone, I spent quite some time thinking about how to make my conversion beamer, when suddenly, I saw it. Deep in the bowels of my drawer of forgotten models (TM) It...it was beautiful. A spare ork loota gun, with just enough wires and techy bits. I cut out the ork arm, and some other parts, and used some
wire, random bits from the ravenwing sprue, the front of a sm HK missile.

However, I dont think the MoTF himself looks techy enough, any suggestions on what to do?

thanks

Be careful not to cross the streams!

I like it, though tbh he doesnt have the 'Independant character' factor yet. The gun's good, kinda like a 'Spraten' laser/ghostbusters hybrid.

A Bionic arm wouldnt go amiss. Personally i would replace the slightly awkward right arm with a bionic integrated into the gun, i would also tilt the gun outwards so it is not parrallel to his body. The other arm is fine

I have the bionic arm from the cadian comand squad, that might work

I want his lower body to be bulkier, any suggestions? I was thinking trimming down termy legs but I still think hell be too big if I do

That is a kinda big gun... appart fron the details to be GStuffed in the gun, my tips are:

Put a cape on him... it is easy to do in GS, and can make a big diference in this model.

Put him posing in a rock, or some other type of slightly high terrain, it will make him stand a bit while side by side with others space marines.

Replace the left shoulder pad with a more ornated one, something with a big eagle is great there, and will make the character jump around.

Another good ideia, istead of the cape (and very "mechanicunish") is to add a tabard or robe to the lower portion of the body...

Those are some ideias, and your work until now is great, that gun really look impressive

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

Please, if you think im wrong, correct me (i will try to take it constructively).

What about adding some stabilizing legs? Its a big hefty looking rig hes got so stabilizing legs wouldn't look to out of place.

What do you mean? Something on his legs holding them steady?

Yeah i suppose. Like what those massive cranes have to stop em tipping.

Something like this...

I realise two of those pics are of toys, but do you see what im thinking?

Yeah, I could bulk up around (or his whole) legs and put those near his ankles or something

if you noticed my new title update, then you'll know what this post is about. I completely overhauled the MoTF, thinking he looked too small and kinda awkward.

Using termy arms (cut down) and termy legs (waist shaved down) with the old MotF's body, head, and weapon+ backpack, I made this

let me know what you think, and any tips on how to make a robotic stabilizer off the backpack or something? I want to make something that looks like its holding up and supporting the beamer

The Smart-gun from Aliens had a stabiliser arm based on a steadi-cam harness. I'm sure a relatively simple image search will give you more than enough examples

On the other hand, power armour is already supposed to be super strong, so you could just give him a counter-weight on his backpack to act against he weight of the weapon. I quite like the idea of something ultra high-tech being assisted by a lump of concrete on his back

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I'm really liking the stabilizer bar. I was considering making up a MoTF myself, so I hope you don't mind if I....borrow some of your ideas. Coming together nicely.

Looks gangsta! Well done on an awesome conversion!

[Second War for Armageddon] While the Blood Angels set about destroying the massive Ork horde, and the Ultramarines bent their strength to the defence of the surviving hive cities, the Salamanders took upon themselves the essential but neglected task of protecting the supply convoys, fighting rearguard actions against the Orks' advances and escorting refugee columns. So unstinting were they in these arduous but unsung duties that the Salamanders were to earn the gratitude and respect of thousands of Imperial Guardsmen and civilians. The Salamanders have become renowned as sturdy and dependable allies, a reputation that is not shared by many other, more unpredictable, Space Marine Chapters.

I like the termy parts on him, it really makes the model stand out as more than another power armored trooper. (and gets him out from the shadow of his BFG)

edit - and nobody says artificer armor can't be a hybrid of terminator and power armor parts

Thanks guys

And I never thought of the armor that way, but it makes sense

Plus, I feel its fitting hes taller since the MoTF is seperated from normal SMs so much, who says hes not mostly augmentations and that makes him taller

I like the idea of a support arm, but the strut you've used seems rigid. It looks to me more like a piece of metal keeping the gun away from the MotF's body instead of something that helps him carry it around.

Something along the lines of a crane arm or servo arm attached to the top of the gun's centre of mass would make it look more realistic.

Other than that, great figure.

Text goes here.

Hmm, I might make like a bend in it so it looks like its moveable rather than rigid
