yeah,
Loving your blog. It was great to read in blog view!
Your typhus is simply amazing.
I think you need a little more fabric at the back of the hood into the armour and it could be a little bit worn out and rag like.
The split toes don't look finished, looks like you just cut in with the knife, some detailing is needed maybe need a little base trim going into the cleave.
Love your work.

Love the new head!
Darth Bob wrote:I would think about maybe adding some stitching or something to make it stand out a little more and give it some more character. Maybe make it look like Leather Face's mask from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Give him one, single, eye hole hidden beneath a mask made from the flayed skin of those ravaged by the Strain. Right now it looks like a face plate and looks rather flat and plain when compared to the rest of the model.
I think some more detail on the mask would give it a lot of character and menace.
How about something like this:

That's really impressive Guita. Love the way the cracks and cuts and the color of the armor give him an ancient feel. Very menacing. I see what you mean about the head... I'm not sure there's anything you could do without messing with the aesthetic.

Holy cow. He looks amazing! However, the paint on the back portion of his pelvis just looks like it was painted on, they don't really seem like weathering.
Also, about the head; perhaps adding two rows of eyes that go downwards (six, in total?) on each side and giving them an orange colour/glow. It'll contrast quite nicely with the paleness of him.
Those are my two cents. Great job on him, really. I'd be happy if I ever reach such clean standards of painting!

Guita, that dude looks awesome. As for the head, I think if you made his jaw fleshy it would draw a lot more focus, instead of having it white. Regardless, he looks like a total boss.

Post by: Blood Angel 17
I think that it looks great as is, but if you did want to change something about the head, and I'm not saying that you should, a tongue or something similar protruding from the mouth would look really good, and also menacing.

That head works. I like it. Reminds me a bit of the Mouth of Sauron - the disturbing jaws giving a voice to an otherwise Voiceless and Soulless thing. It keeps with the aesthetic and character as well, so good for it!

That is such a great model, and the head is excellent - really menacing. The aged wrought iron helmet is painted very well, a good amount of rust. As Moltar said, you might get the head as more of a focal point if his chin wasn't the same colour as his armour.

Once again, an outstanding realisation of Chaos. Pandemion is more bad-arse than plain old Typhus that's for sure.
Love the different approach you went for with the head, there's an evil feel to it that a head with eyes just wouldn't convey.
Awesome work, great to see original conversions.

Post by: Crystal Geyser
I'm going to say you definitely made the right decision with the head. The old one implied brute force, a shattering powerhouse of destruction, and was indeed quite fitting for any terminator lord.
But this head implies, a sickly, necrotic scourge that slowly lurks and festers. I can imagine Pandemion's rasping death-rattle as he coughs out billowing clouds of locusts into the air, and I hate to imagine the abominable features lurking beneath the maddening patchwork shroud.

I agree, the new head looks majorly sinister.

He looks fantastic! I really like how you worked the Dark Eldar blade into the scythe. Looks it can just fold in, when he's not using it. And unfolding weapons are just bad-ass.
The one thing I don't like is the base. It's a great base, no question there, but it doesn't really fit the army in my opinion. Too bright and alive.

Post by: GuitaRasmus
Thanks a lot guys.
He had his first outing against the deluded grey knights of Titan yesterday. He certainly proved his worth as he killed 5 grey knight terminators, and challenged and killed a terminator justicar, a terminator librarian, a terminator grand master and a dreadknight - single handed.
Squigsquasher: I've thought about it, but I am having difficulty coming up with something he could represent.
Anung un Rama: I know what you mean about the bases. But, believe it or not, the colour scheme of the army really comes to life when I add the static grass. The paintjob is okay until I add the grass, then it becomes great. I think the contrast of the muted hues and the vibrant green sets it off.

DUDE! Stop it! I just skimmed through the whole thread and I don't think my mind can blown much further.
Seriously, every single miniature you touch turns into awesomenium or something like that. Fantastic ans inspirational work all around.
The leader of The Strain is among my favourites. Never thought a hovering power armor could look so cool.
And speaking of amazing, I totally came up with the idea to combine the Skaven beast with a Defiler body on my own before I saw it in your thread.
Automatically Appended Next Post: You know, how I just wrote how much I love everythign in your blog and am completly blown away by it? That was before I saw... "The Fly".
I'm running out of adjectives to formulate my praise for your models. But of all the 40k conversions I have seen in my life, that thing has to be in the top 5.

I was really opposed to the new head before, but now that it's painted, I retract my previous opposition. The rust detailing and the pitted look you gave it really make it pop. I have come quite late to your thread, having stumbled across it looking for ideas for a death guard army of my own. What attracts me to a nurgle army is the conversion possibilities, and needless to say everything you have done here is staggering.
That said I was most impressed by your second take on typhus or Pandemion, it is just staggering and I could't improve it, so I think I will just do my best to imitate it! Could you tell me what parts were used? In particular the arms/powerfists/shoulder pads have me stumped.
One other question, I can't imagine how i could get hold of obliterator legs, and buying the kit just for those legs is a bit out of my price range (I don't like the models so would't use the rest of them!). Would it be possible to use other legs, perhaps the chaos terminator lords with a bit of greenstuffing? Or are the obliterator ones neccessary for that impressive size and ratio to the torso?
Thanks for sharing all of this truly excellent work!

Sure thing:
Torso: Grey knight front, combined with regular terminator back, and a chaos terminator halo glued in. The vent on the front is a berzerker back pack cut and filed down.
Legs: Obliterator legs.
Right arm: loyalist power fist (pointy finger cut off, and glued back in to a closed fist)
Left arm: Chaos power fist.
Shoulder pads: Obliterator shoulder pads.
Icon: Plaguebearer kit
Head: Plaguebearer head, with green stuff.
Cabling done with the masque tube tool.
About buying the obliterator kit: I just bought the finecast kit, and sold of the two remaining ones - the finecast ones sell like hot butter.

Well, I know that this isn't chaos... Or Nurgle... Or even 40k... But I've been bitten by the Inquisimunda bug, and I'm really enjoying painting very few minis and converting them a lot, so I've begun an Inquisitorial warband for Inquisimunda. Here's the guys so far. The only finished guy I have is this guy, the others are getting ready for paint:
Inquisitor in Power armour, with shoulder mounted hellfire gun:
Tech Adept, with Servoarm & plasma pistol:
Zealot with Eviscerator:
Acolyte with Heavy Stubber:
Astartes bodyguard, power armour, bolter & chainsword:
Truescale, savvy?
And a picture of the whole class:

Wow, now there's some nice conversions. I especially like the fully meched out servitor, even the auspex bit on back.
The techpriest himself, though, still has something to be added. I dunno, he just screams Necron too much, unless that's a deliberate angle. Maybe hydraulics all over the place, like the servitor but smaller? I don't know what sourcing you'd have, besides making them yourself, but he just needs a little something to really make the floating/ mech body work out. I also like the TSed bodyguard, with his older bolter. A Deathwatch, yes, but what chapter shall he be of?
Overall, that's a great inquisimunda group! really coming along!
PS, cool Maulerfiend too, especially as I was less than impressed by the one GW put out. the new Daemon machines didn't really resonate with me, but yours does!

Hah! What a joyous occasion, GuitaRasmus! You are indeed alive, and you have decided to try your hand at INQ28! That's great! Can't wait to see these models finished!
The Mechanicus Construct is once again a testament to your enormous talent, and the WIP shots are awesome too! One thing, though: Astartes are absurdly powerful in Inquisitor, so I wouldn't necessarily run a Deathwatch Marine as a regular member of an Inquisitorial retinue, but rather as a single individual -- and even then, only use him sparingly. That's only if you are interested in actually playing, though.
Keep up the great work!

Absolutely - the head was the part that inspired me for the conversion.
The fluff behind is going to be something about him being the butt of some perverse joke by Slaanesh by robbing him of his senses - sight, smell, hearing - and granting him short bursts of those senses whenever he kills. Obviously WIP.

Hi everyone! And thanks for the congratulations on the WD feature - it's a bit of a childhood dream, from back when WD was worth spending money on - yes, I'm that old.
I wanted to share a brand spanking new project I've been inspired to work on - Dark Mechanicus! I love Daemon Engines, they're absolutely some of my favorite chaos units, so I thought - why not make an army based on them? These guys are only WIP, but I like where it's going - I've been cutting and gluing bits together all weekend. I'm incredibly inspired regarding the modelling, but I could use some input regarding the colour scheme - all inputs are appreciated.
Here they are, so far: (there will be 7 or 8 machines all in all)

Deep, DEEP and dark red with gunmetal and/or black trim? Either way, these guys are looking -amazing- as usual! If you're doing a Dark mechanicus army, then you -have- to include a Warsmith-Iron Warriors are awesome, have close ties to the Dark Mechanicus, are awesome, they -invented- Daemon engines, are awesome, they -still- produce the most Daemon Engines and Obliterators, and did I mention that they're awesome? it'd also be a nice change of pace from all the Pee Marines (AKA Imperial Fists) that've been cropping up on the front page over the past few months. And I just think you could do some really epic stuff with them!

Wow. Just wow. Everything I've seen from you has been truly inspiring and outside of the box, but these take the cake for me so far. You have a creative mind I envy.
As far as the paint scheme goes, I would stick with dark metallic colors, with plenty of oil and grime stains. I think this color scheme would suit your painting style nicely. Perhaps some liberal splattering of blood to add an accent color, and instead of the tradition blue or green for the glowing eyes and lenses, go for a sickly yellow to emphasize their twisted and corrupt nature.

Brilliant and inspirational as usual! simply jaw droppingly creative models mate! I think the Maulerfiend needs a little something though? perhaps more of the mechandrites used on the other models coming from the rear of him? and in regards to colour, I personally have always seen the loyal mechanicus in the deep rich reds and the dark mechanicus in a deep dark green velvet with lots of tarnished metals and burnished gold links and accents?

Post by: KrautScientist
Fantastic work, Rasmus! After the Tzeentch Defiler - which was nice enough, but clearly lacked the breathtaking creativity of your usual projects, if I may be so bold - these last pieces are a brilliant return to form! I especially love the inspired combination of parts from several chaos and non-chaos kits in these. Extra kudos for finally proving that the Tombstalker makes for an excellent souce for chaos daemon engines!
Regarding the colour scheme for these, I would advise you to check out Meade's thread for inspiration. Meade went for a black (actually Black Legion, at least at first) colour scheme with light effects in red for a brilliantly creepy result.
Hope this helps! Eagerly awaiting your next update!

You read my mind Red and black are the primary colours of the Machine Cult anyway. If those on Mars use red as their primary colour why not have the Dark Mechanicus reverse the scheme and have black as the main colour, with red as a spot colour?

I really like your choice of Necron bitz spliced in with the Heldrake main body for the Defiler, very impressive. For the colour scheme perhaps you could paint the armour plates black and give them a coat of gloss to make them seem like a carapace. For the mechanical bits you could paint them steel but with a dark red wash to show the malignance of the daemon seeming across its metal body.

I love the Dark Mechanicus concept you're proposing, and the conversions are truly awesome! One thought that occured to me was maybe using the Tyranids Codex rather than CSM? Just an idea, since you said you wanted a small army of daemonengines, and some of the Tyranid organisms would fit that concept rather well...
As for the paint scheme, I'd second the opinion of not using red. It's too much loyal Mechanicus. Maybe mostly black, with an oily sheen? And a few steel and brass accents?
Cheers,
Monsterzonk

The last machine is amazing!
I really enjoy trying to guess which bits you're using.
As for colors, I'm with Malika2 - the red mechanicus scheme has been done and is too reminiscent of the Mechanicus.
Perhaps a rusty metallic, with Iron Warriors-style hazard striping - in place of the Mechanicus black-and-white checks.

Thanks a lot, everyone! I really appreciate the input as always. Don't worry, every necron rune will be removed - as I said, they are all very much WIP - I just like to go with the inspiration to build, and fine tune details later.
Tonight I've been working on my lord - he has terminator armour, lightning claw and a chainfist. He's magnetised to the base, so I can remove him and put him on a mechanical palanquin (which will be based on the thunderfire cannon tracks). Obviously, he's still missing a lot of tubes and stuff, but I really like where he's going:
"But", I hear you say - "Isn't he a bit small for a terminator?" Not really.

Maybe, for the paint scheme, go completely opposite. The opposite color of Red is Green. Opposite Black is White.
Green and white- and it'd give you the opportunity to do some sick bronze (with the green being oxidization) and 'soiled' white ceramics.

Thanks a lot, guys! There's a bit of progress here from the dark, nasty forge world:
The Lord is done - thanks to the fantastic tube tool:
I've put some armour plates on the legs of the defiler - it looks much more chaotic now, I like it!
Some new projects this week - I've been wanting to make some monowheel bikes, since I got back to the hobby about 2 years ago - now's the time! They're based on skaven doomwheels and doomflayers, and there's only gonna be 3 - I still need to do the unit champ, but my local GW only had two doomflayers, so I'm waiting for it to arrive.
I've also started on my "drake" - the squid of d00m!!! Sadly, I can't claim it's entirely my own idea, since I saw a similar creation somewhere online, but I liked the concept and decided to tweak it a bit, and make it my own:
Coming up: Forgefiend (based on decimator), Mutilators, and skitaari! I'm on fire with this project!

Post by: Lord Kaesar II
The Monowheels are great. Wasn't the some Epic model along the same lines?
Loving the squid flyer, reminds me of some of the opponents in Shadow of the Colossus.
I'll admit that I haven't read much of the words of the blog, but I'm also liking the new defiler, who I'm thinking has the core of the new chaos flyer?

Stop it Guita! You're killing me! This stuff is so amazing! The Demon Prince is wonderful. I really didn't know what to do with the shoulder pads from the Forgefiend, but you make it work so well. The face with the mechanical mandibles (that's the word, isn't it?) is my favourite part. The Defiler is the most awesome take on the concept I have EVER seen. It's clearly a Defiler, because it has the multiple legs and the huge cannon. But the way to use those tentacles make it look less like a a warmachine with a tank cannon and more like a deep sea monster about to tear someone's face off. The Maulerfiend is easily one of the most vicious 40k walkers I've seen so far. I love how you used the unimpressive body of the FW Slaughterer and made it so much more menacing just by putting it on some real legs. I'm a sucker for Dark Mechanicus projects anyway, so I'm in love with the the Terminator Lord . Though I'm wondering: Why a T-Lord and not a Warpsmith? And those bikes. Oh my Gork those Bikes. I'm surprised the Doomwheel fits so well on Bike bases. I might have to use that fact for something. The least impressive thing is the Squid, but that's only because I've already seen it done. However, since you switched it around and now have engines exhausts where the eyes could be, I can't wait to see the finished product. That Hellbrute.... It's not the first time I see a Dreadnought-torso on Sentinel-legs, but it looks awesome everytime anyway. I'm almost surprised you went with the regular head. IMO it's the weakest part of the Hellbrute. And lastly, the Decimator looks a lot less goofy with the Forgefiend guns. Gotta find something to put mine on as well.

I've played a few games, and I feel like I wanted to change up a few things - this is the new list:
So these questions remain:
1) How do I make an awesome biker lord that looks great with my evil wheels?

Any inspiration, links or thoughts are welcomed!

1) You could make the lord a counts as Lord on a juggernaut, and fashion some beasty means of locomotion.... whether they be tentacle or leg. An added benefit is that the jugger has a huge dreadnought base to work from.
2) thallax are huge, make them your terminators/oblits... make for noise marines some other shock troops with weird looking guns.

Actually, they're not that much bigger than a space marine, according to the forge world pics - I would rather have them be a bit bigger than space marines, and make the terminators even more bulky.

Well I couldn't argue with that.. bigger is better! Looking at those pics they certainly seem a bit larger than terminator size.

I promise, I'm not trying to argue, but I'm usually pretty good at seeing things like that, and I was convinced that they are about the same size - I got curious, and I jotted this size comparizon together - they really are EXACTLY the same size as terminators:
They don't look as heavily armoured though (as I recall, they have a 4+ armour save in the Heresy book), so I thought they were more fitting as an Astartes like robot.

Man, this bike lord is a difficult concept to pull off - I've made a VERY rough mockup, and could really use some opinions - am I on the right track, or should I go another route?
26790
Post by: Gitsplitta
I'm not sure Guita. From the front it looks very cool... but the plasma cannon on the far side seems odd. From the driver's side it just looks kind of confusing, but that situation might resolve with good paint job. I'm just not certain that the big wheel and the bike mesh well together. One or the other... OK, both... meh.
36940
Post by: Anvildude
I'm liking the asymmetry of it- makes it feel more like I think true Chaos ought. Though I do somewhat agree with the plasma cannon's positioning being off- perhaps just front mounted before the marine, or possibly hanging off the smaller side of the bike- then have a forward swept scythe blade or lashing tentacle out where it's mounted now.

First, I've been lurking on this thread for forever... amazing work. I'm totally ripping off your ideas as I type...
As for your biker lord mock-up... thank God its a mock-up! LOL
If you want to follow the same stylistic theme as the bikes, just throw a hydraulic arm opposite the weapon housing with the appropriate close combat weapon of choice.
If I were you, I'd take that evil looking Tron bike the marine there is standing on, hack off the marines torso, and fuse him to the bike. Kinda like those filthy loyalist AdMech dudes with tracks for legs, but this is a wicked evil Tron bike and inherently superior in every possible way.
PS: If you want to do a parts breakdown on that bike, I'd gladly have your virtual children... well, find a good surrogate mom for your virtual children , seeing as how I lack all those girl parts...

I'd have to agree with Gitsplitta. One or the other. Having seen your mockup, I'd say that perhaps the lord being suspended between two wheels or something along that train of thought may work.

Post by: MeatShield
I'm with Gits on this one. I love the wheel, and I love the bike but, I feel that it's going to be hard to sell the two together. I like the idea of cutting him to fit the bike and a GS cloak over some biker legs.
If you want to keep the wheel, try rotating the plasma to the other side to see if you can balance it out with some trophies or other fabrications.
55327
Post by: KrautScientist
Hmm, I seem to be the only one actually liking the mockup a lot, precisely because it's so unconventional...
- the huge wheel itself is already perfect. Those huge spikes would make for a rather bumpy ride, of course, but reality be damned - Rule of Cool and all that
- I also like the smaller, "bike like" construction to the side. It makes for a good base for the champ and immediately communicates the fact that this is not just another regular "bike".
- I think the Chosen model could really work well, depending on what you are going to do on its right side: What about building a fusion between pilot and machine there, having cables originate from the Chosen's body and plug into the workings of the huge wheel? That would support the already asymmetrical build and go towards the Dark Mechanicum look you are going for. You may also want to add some crazy cabling to the back of the champ's head, just because
- I also think the Plasma cannon could work, although I feel it needs more chaos: a huge daemon maw for a muzzle, or something like that. And maybe some additional cabling could represent how the champ is controlling the weapon less like a machine and more like a part of his own body?
Anyway, I seem to be in the absolute minority here, but I think it's a concept you don't see every day, and it really has a lot of potential!
EDIT: Come to think of it, you could easily replace the champ's powerfist with a wicked, multi-segmented weapon/arm hybrid, another lasher tendril from the fiend kit, or something similar...

Post by: ghosty
If we go by the lore style of thinking, I think it could work. The wheels by themselves seem to be just robots specifically tailored to the purpose of driving around and gunning people down; with this the case, it would seem out of place to have one in this style and shape leading an army. More so, if he's supposed to be the armies progenitor, being a wheel seems a bit... well I don't think he'd be readily able to tinker with things much. Your current idea kind of reminds me, at least in concept of Krauts Biker Lord? A guy driving, and the Lord sitting in a sidecar? In this case, a giant spinning wheel machine, with a sidecar for the Lord attached?
Not 100% convinced just from the mockup, but hell! From your previous works, I know it's going to be awesome! Just make sure the Lord looks appropriately Mechanicus, and make sure his sidecar meshes well with the death wheel, and it'll look fantastic.
So what's going to happen to your previous lord? Could he work as a mockup for your Terminators, seeing as you're looking for ideas? Like, 5 mechandrite giants that look like him?

I would have had it so the entire bike and lord rider was inside of a slightly bigger wheel with space on the sides so he could still attack with melee weapons as well as being able to run things down with the spiked tracks. Sort of like a those cage's where you get moter bikes riding inside and they go near verticle but just fliped so the bike would still be the right way up. (sorry if that made no sense)

Post by: Casey's Law
My first thought was that I absolutely loved that biker lord, I figure the right arm was all snarled up in tentacley goodness within the wheel. I can imagine him using it to bash things up on his merry travels. That got me thinking though, what if you put him inside the wheel and give him some new ridiculously large cc weapon or tentacles? Hard to say without see the concept but it could be fun.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, and the suggestions. I've messed around with the bits quite a bit (bad pun intended), and I still kind of like the sidecar-idea the best - so I've tried to incorporate it into the design better, so it merges with the bike, making it look like an integrated part.
Bear in mind that this is still VERY rough mockup - the idea is that the magos is going to interface to the throne using lots of tubes, having lots of mechatendrils as well, and making the whole thing much more spiky:
57468
Post by: Bruticus
That does look a lot better. Have you tried putting the stabiliser wheel and the magos behind the big wheel? It might be too long for the base and it might look too much like a penny farthing (from hell) but it could work.

Is it just me that LOVED the spikes on those wheels? (i'm not a 'MOAR SKULLZ!' fanatic, don't worry) I'd like to see how they looked on this design; I do much prefer this one, but I liked the spikes

Ladies and gentlemen - I am proud to present to you...
Arch Heretek Karulek:
With his unit:
Part of this model was a challenge for myself - since it came out, I thought that the Khorne Skull cannon/throne thing was one of the ugliest things GW ever made, so I gave myself the challenge of converting something cool out of it, using at least 50% of the kit - I am pretty proud that I actually think I pulled it off.

It's always hard to tell what Guita comes up with next as his mind doesn't work like us normal - simpleminded - people.
It's probably something from the CSM codex and by the size of it maybe some form of a hovering Forgefiend/Maulerfiend.

Getting closer, but still not right. I'll reveal it tomorrow, when I can take proper pictures in the daylight.
Btw, I'm about to begin painting the army (I'll batch paint the whole army. ), but I'm really in doubt as to what colour scheme it should have. I have a couple of ideas, being red, purple, green or black, but I could really use any and all suggestions, especially with a picture for inspiration. Hit me with your best shot!

Looks like it could be the dark mech version of the thallanx, maybe a terminator.
Either way it looks amazing, and the painting is something we're all looking forward too.

Post by: Theophony
I'd go with a deep reddish/purple. The red being the mechanicus color, but darkened due to the corrupting power of chaos, and an spooky purple glow for the power lines. Sorry no pics as its in my head, feel free to look around in there at your leisure.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions - keep 'em coming!
@ Big Mek: My thanks for the kind words - that means a lot.
The winner of the "bumblebee from hell" guessing competition is the user... Sheep!
The mystery is revealed; the "bumblebee from hell" is the master sculpt for a mold I made, to make... Wait for it... My termicide unit! I wanted a 3 man plasma termicide unit, because I really like the concept of teleporting in the midst of the battlefield and shooting like a madman. However, I dislike the idea of using extremely rare terminator suits for this, and besides I needed to make them look even bigger than the Thallax cohort, since I used those for power armour. I got the idea of a hunter drone, driven by a daemon, and this is the result - I realize that it's a very strange concept, but I like it a lot.
Empyrean Hunter Drones:
Size comparison
Pictures of more new stuff I've been working on:
Heavy Praetorians (Noise Marines, sonic blasters and blastmaster):
Objective marker (For gaks and giggles) - runaway servitor:
(The concept is stolen from another AdMech builder - I can't seem to remember who, so if you know please post it, so I can give proper credit)
Skitarii Prime (tech adept leader):
Skitarii Secundus (Electro priest leader):

WINNAR!
They look great mate, the little talos arms make them look like demonic bugs! Perfect!
They are much bigger than I thought they would be, but scaled next to the "noise marines" they are the correct scale.
What parts did you use on the thallanx guns?
Keep up the inspiring work, I keep trying to think of ways to "imperialise" your ideas for my own ad mech, but the chaotic nature of most of your daemon engines makes that hard :p

@ Sheep: I've been lurking on your blog too - great work there. :-) The gun is made from a Necron Immortal gun ( don't know what its called) combined with the thallax gun, and a dark eldar spiky bit.

Post by: GuitaRasmus
Wow, thanks for the input! I'm still considering, and while I like #9, I'm worried that it doesn't really scream "Dark Mechanicum".
Btw, this project is getting weirder by the minute... I wasn't completely satisfied with helbrute no.2, so I gave it another try, and tried to make something different - I kinda like where this is going.
(The pilot is just a stand in, until the stores open tommorrow, so I can get a plastic necromancer or chaos sorcerer)
Oh, and I've gotten hold of the new C'tan - as soon as I saw it, I knew it would work great for my "data daemon allies" (as inspired by the "Dark Adeptus" book - "daemon programs" or living electricity of sorts), as a Greater Daemon (Keeper of secrets). Also, I'm considering using dryads as lesser daemons (daemonettes). They will all be airbrushed either a creepy bright green or blue. I'm still pondering about the mount for the greater daemon - but it's such an amazing miniature.

Personally i think 9 with hazzard stripes would look good and still allow for area's of just green and link to the Mechanicusnuss

Post by: Casey's Law
More epic concepts! Yay!
55327
Post by: KrautScientist
Those are some seriously awesome new additions, as per your usual standard
Regarding the colour, I think the point is that, unlike the "loyal" AdMech, the Dark Mechanicus doesn't seem to have an established, iconic colour scheme in the first place. So I think it's really rather okay to go with what looks cool -- and no. 9 does look fethin' cool at that! I think the interesting part will be the contrast between the armour plates and any (daemonic) flesh there might be. Plus, as bigfish suggested, you can (and probably should) always add hazard stripes as needed.

Post by: GuitaRasmus
Thanks a lot for the kind words. :-)
@ Malika: perhaps at a later time. For now I just want two units of skitarii, so I can spend the points on the big guys. I've thought about making a single mutilator, just for fun. I'm not really interested in obliterators, since everybody and their grandmas are using them, they take up a heavy support slot (where I would rather have machines), and I've tackled converting them already for my death guard.
Tryanotherone: I dont know about that, there are many VERY nice armies on the webz, but thank you for the kind comment - I put a LOT of effort into this army, so its nice when people like them. :-)
