Started painting the Yncarne. Will take while as I've primed it black.

Finished edge highlights on the armour trim on my WE CSM, boy did that give me eyestrain.

Moving on to the bases next.

Luckily Para has allowed a few days extension to the painting challenge - should just about save my lazy ass.

Depending on what time I get home tonight, I'll keep plugging away on these boys before heading to a new years party tonight. And then painting all day tomorrow.

I started my second Freeguild General for my Cities of Sigmar Army. My Third general is currently soaking to get the paint stripped off and my 4th General is in pieces in a box....somewhere.

Also might play a game of Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Skirmish...which is turning out to be super fun and I might adapt the Warbands experience system to the game as well.

Made a last minute decision to attend a Major this weekend, so slamming out some painting, which is complicated, cause I keep changing my list. Already wasted a whole day on a unit that I'm not bringing now.

Continue painting the Yncarne. Not sure if I can make til the game on Saturday.

Put in magnets on bottom of all my isengard models I have painted and some in progress plus attached metal sheet to box for them. In time for tomorrow game. It was uruk pikes that initially made me decide on magnetic storage/transport solution and now it's reality.

Box bit too tall though...2nd layer would fit just fine. Have to see if I could actually attach another sheet to the lid and have another layer of uruks hanging upside down! Magnets no worry. 2 sided tape is the worry with metal sheet.

Edit: put idea in action. Over 200 foot isengard at maximum in one box!

Still got to finish the bases then eye lenses, horns/skulls and some plasma/warp effects to go.

Bit more work on my Nighthaunts from the starter, actually liking the GW suggested colours. Hexwraith Flame as a thin glaze works very well too.

Putting together the Chaos Rhino from Conquest at last and realising how spoiled I've been by newer models in terms of seams and fit.

Finished painting my WE CSM squad for last month's challenge. A few days late so missed the deadline, but at least they are finished.

Seeing if LA's Totally Awesome can strip 10,000 year of heresy from some Emperor's Children Cataphractii...Asmodai is doubtful but I remain hopeful.

Building islands for my naval project and considering repainting the flags on two ships into different nationalities.

I decided on my own slightly different take of the classic Genestealer scheme. I finished one yesterday now I'm working on painting the other 15. Making use of the dozen or so pots of Macragge Blue paint I got through the extra issues of Warhammer Conquest I got.

Made painting plan(what models to paint in batches of 6) for my sisters of battle. Will be playing first game of AOS in 4.5 years or so and then continue painting current batch of 6 sisters. Need black highlights and scrolls before they can be varnished and then just gold

Assembled the Primaris Inceptors from DI Ive kept forgotting to make. Stabbed myself a few times trying to scoop out the annoying injection point in the knees.

Going to cut some steel from heavy duty garden mesh for the flight stands as I dont like the curved plastic rods.

I plan on finishing my first Kataphron Destroyer (except for the base) and to work on an Enginseer.

Putting grit on terrain, repainting the bases on some ships and in general just tidying up the hobby space and cupboard.

Cut of the extra plastic on some electrical gang boxes for terrain.

Terrain building for my table project for my R&H army mostly, also testing stuff, maybee at some point i will make a full table that way, who knows.

Yes I know the Mutalith doesn't have a vortex. No way I'm sticking that enormous thing out of such a tiny contact point. It'll snap off in half a second. Besides, Imma base both the vortices separately and use them as interesting objectives or Warp phenomena.

I never stuck mine, the peg at the bottom fits well enough that it stays and is sturdy enough. I can slide it out and put it back, which makes storage and transport easier.

Spent the morning painting killteam starter box terrain. Later I want to start on the reaver marines that came in the box.

I wanted to base coat some terrain but I got home late and wasn't in the mood to do it. So I mostly started painting some minis I have for my Brettonian Mordheim warband.

Just finished painting my last 5 man Deathwatch kill team that was in my primed pile. Now to find something else to work on for an hour while there is still daylight.

Three boxes of living dead peasants arrived this morning from Fireforge Games for another zombie swarm for KoW. So I'll be building 54 zombies this weekend hopefully.

Started a new naval project today. Currently assembly-line building seven frigate type ships.

trip to FLGS this morning, two games of DBA which saw my Nubians wondering why they bothered to turn up, one of the buggers stabbed me with a spear putting them back in the box (I suspect I deserved it)

two games of Team Yankee in the afternoon, 50 points with my Soviets, missions with scattered & delayed reserves are interesting at that point value, BDRM-2 unit won me the game on turn two as my opponent couldn't cover two objectives.

went home, managed to prime some more for AoS, then get the hexwraith flame (loving this paint) on the ghosts and a bit of gold on the golden boys

capped by ordering the army book and a bit of terrain, not a bad day really

I painted a dang old stormtrooper all star wars style.

Assembling 30 Sisters. I did the first 15 today, I'll do the rest tomorrow.

Assembled 5 and spare box of basic sister box and 2 retribution box. Couple bolter celestians gets to wait their turn a bit.

My pile of shame these days is not measured in miniatures but complete, unbuilt armies. Today I went through the Tyranids.

Now I know there are a lot of Termagants and Hormagaunts somewhere in the mix, but I'm not 100% certain where. There's also 30 Gargoyles somewhere. Again, not sure where they could be.

But I did manage to find some interesting things, like 6 unbuilt Carnifexes, and a Tyrant and Tyrannofex still on the sprue. Gonna get them built up quicksmart!

Finished painting all but 5 of my OOP Necron warriors.
Just need to base them. Also had to repair an OOP immortal whose arm keeps jumping out of socket.

Boxed up Splintered Fang for WarCry.
Built them and tried painting a couple but just don't like them.
Buddy of mine is trading me his Iron Golems.
I just want simple, sturdy models and golems have fewer snap-off bits compared to the Fang guys.

Excellent priming weather right now, so I got around to undercoating some ships. Now I'm building the rest of them before the weather changes.

After 13h assembling sisters have spent 7h today painting lower torso and clothbs. Plan is to get them to stage where i can glue to base without further painting on hard to reach areas.

After gym back to painting. Aiming to get them to playable state for tuesday game

After 27h spent on saturday+sunday to get sisters ready for game spent 2h more today putting 3rd layer for last 23 sisters and glue on bases. Now rest a bit and then put red line on bases of celestians to easily identify them mid game until more permanent visual cue can be painted(the symbol on helmet + something else)

Finished my first Kill Team that meets the 100 point limit. A swarm of Nids consisting of a warrior, genies and hormies. Love their base detail so much I might just call it Hive Fleet Oregano!

Painted and added some decoration to some conveniently shaped cork-rock outcrops that will serve as hills.

Our final parcel with Warhammer Fortress pieces arrived today. So tonight we will be making a start on the biggest castle we can fit on a table.

Only 5 seraphim were off their flying stands, plenty of models were still hanging upside down in magnets and no model was broken except metal missionary...

So rest of evening was spent repairing damage. All done. All in all need to fix some paint work on unfinished bases but all in all hearing miniatures flying inside box I expected lot worse(celestine I was sure would be snapped off...But that one is there as she was originally...).

Working on painting the 2 Obliterators I've been avoiding painting for months. I can't wait to get them done!

I received a new set of playtest materials for my dungeon crawl...Version 2! Huzzah! Setting up a dungeon tonight for a game tomorrow.

Painting sisters. Progressing nicely and tomorrow starts weekend! Requested even(and was granted) one day off from work(I have whole bunch of holiday days unspent and boss has been nagging me to use them so...) so 3 days of pure painting ahead. Going to make serious progress with these ones.

Which will finish off the terrain set I've slowly been collecting and putting together.

Looks like the cold snap has broken, so I'll be priming as many Sisters as I can once I'm home from work.

Managed to build a Broodlord (to hell with that single base connection point), a Flyrant (with scything talons stolen from the Tyrannofex kit, as they're bigger), a Maulerfiend, another Forge Fiend, and a Venom Crawler to run alongside the Maulerfiend.

Just a Lord Discordant, 15 Havocs, a Carnifex, a Tyrannofex, some Venomthropes, a Helbrute, two Tyrannocytes and a Neurothrope to go!

Going to keep plugging away and hopefully finish my last 5 Mortek Guard tonight.

I want to take my 6 Tzaangors from Silver tower and use the enlightened staffs from the Enlightned/Skyfire kit to make 6 Enlightened on foot. That’s my goal for the evening. My wife is building 4 of my Skyfires today for me (can’t paint right now, but wanted to build stuff).

Finished 12 sisters to stage I can varnish them and then just gold. Will try to get lots to that stage first though so onward to next 12.

Bit more work on an event card app for Android.

Finally got Machina Arcana to the table. Very fun game but terrible rulebook.

As someone that attempted minor conversion on a lord discordant. The AC/ flamer holding tentacle idea, that person needs a slap, not just talking too but an actual slap.......

Putting a couple of Z scale(-ish) tanks on bases. My two year old says they look like "robot ducks", which I'm actually okay with.

anyway, back to today, had a run to Doncaster and part of that was to drop into the shop and basically have a look round and pick up a few paints...

Mrs L. in tow, ended up getting that somewhat nice ruined plaza kit because I was told I was buying it, well terrain is terrain so it will be useful so why not.

got the colours I was after, youngest discovered just how expensive a paintbrush is, and why nothing on the shelves seems to have price tags, which is odd

Built my second Exorcist - considerably quicker than the first one. One more to do tomorrow evening and I'll be done assembly for the next 3 weeks at least and back to painting.

Wrapped up another 12 sisters to pre-gold stage. Still need to do 24 before getting to arco flagelants and cherub's. Was planning to do another 12 tomorrow as I took day off from work but as GW didn't put canoness and imagifier up for preorder next week I can't get my army even bought let alone painted for tournament so time limit went away...so I'll go back to AOS(need to get 25 wounds painted by friday for escalation league escalation points) and LOTR dwarves(tournament coming up next month) which have deadlines and I have all the models I need to paint anyway.

Frankly, the reaper, especially the ammo, is absolutely idiotic....

But even funier, the HB has no issues with it's ammo, the AC works perfectly fine, the ML is top notch, the Lascannons aswell. But the reaper ammo belt +backpack combo is just mindbogling.

on another sidenote, finished 14 traitor guardsmen, quite happy about them, now working on the next bits for BSF, more motivated now that i know i will get propper rules support accordingly to gw.

Finished these for aos escalation league to get painting points. Had started to paint first models before read league rule so didn't have before photos 53 wounds painted with 25 needed for full points and no good...

Also started bases for 20 arco flagelants, 2 mortifiers and put sand to 20 more crypt ghouls and endless spell to wait next month to paint.

Not quite as charachteristic as the old vraks renegades, but they come damn close.

Finished these guys! Unit of Tzaangor Enlightened on foot, made from Silver Tower Tzaangors since 6 are completely useless for anything except that game.

Today I expect I'll be working on my Whirlwind. Got a nice example of the old 2E era "Mars-pattern" one from ebay in excellent condition. The previous owner had even done little things like replaced the fragile exhaust stacks with metal rod and the moulded-on side grilles with actual mesh.

To my annoyance, I broke the "yoke" piece holding the missile racks when I was disassembling everything for my usual prep routine for preassembled and painted stuff, and have had to spend a good long while making a new mounting system that can take the weight - not inconsiderable - of the pieces and align them properly with each other. The end result won't quite be codex compliant, so I guess I've just created the Mars-Pattern v. 0.6.

Yeah well I would still focus mostly on the bottom where the mud would logically mostly be. Now he looks more like he's been hanging upside down in mudpool

Last night I took an old metal Dark Emissary that I had entombed under the house for about 8 years, and restored him to a respectable state.

90% of the paint work was with Contrasts.

Oh , fancy.

Me , i am attempting at planning out how t convert splintered Fang units into Khorne daemons or just daemons, especially how i can copy the shields or get my hands on more of them. Still in the idea phase, if anyone got an idea go there

I have that Slaughter Priest that came with the issue of White Dwarf...oh jeez, years ago now. I finally decided to put him together as I want a change of pace of what I am painting.

In addition I'm working on finishing a 5 man unit of Tzeentch Chaos Warriors that I had taking space on my table for awhile now.

Assembled 2 exorcists. Bit more work than usual as I wanted 4 magnets slotted into tracks but didn't have electric drill so...manual work. Good result though. Exorcist hangs nicely upside down with them.

Started painting one exorcist(2nd has to wait for ulthuan grey(air) to arrive) and painted base rims for my sisters to separate squads. Need to redo 3 colours for brighter version though. Current ones are tricky to spot quickly. Especially if lightning isn't perfect(like local gaming area)

Working on painting my Obliterators. They're models I've no enjoyed painting a single step of the way. The first is finally complete, and the other is on its way.

I thought I could pry the square bases off some used Handgunners I bought recently....nope! They were glued properly with plastic glue. So now I have to spend time this evening carefully chopping them off to put them on Rounds bases for my Cities of Sigmar army.

Finishing up a large-ish project of Frostgrave ruins. Made several 3" x 6" bases of busted walls and debris to hopefully fill a 3 x 3 FG table. The table surface will be four 18" x 18" floor tiles, an idea I stole from the Pulp Alley videos.

Attempting to make a dent on this.

Broke the back of my latest batch of guard troopers. Will be able to finish them in the arvos after work this week. about 32 soldiers and some tank commanders and vehicle crews

Might put the finishing touches on my Bloodthirster tonight (big axe boy). Minor detail left, and as pointed out in the AoS general thread, Tyrants of Blood are a real pain-train now.

Just finished off a squad of Sisters and added some minor additional details to the backpacks of those I already did.

Working on some Retributors and the Hospitaller along with playing a 40K League game later and D&D tonight.

Have so far finished all power armour sisters + repentia minus couple pieces I needed to paint separately. Also been working on exorcist. Next up to painting table 4 seraphim that got 3rd party "melting pistols" to work as inferno pistols. Seraphim painted, just need to paint those arms and pistols.

This was my 2nd terrorgheist. Also have built one zombie dragon. Still need 2 terrorgheist and shudder at the thought. Those wings and legs seem impossible to get to natural poses...I\m past the agony and now are just "as long as it stays together it's bloody good enough" attitude over it

Adding ground texture to an anti tank bunker for flames of war. Plus textured a few bases for some dead Normandy cows to use as scene setters.

While all that was drying I started to clean up some German panzer grenadiers.

Looking for tiny tea sets and tiny animals alike

I'm almost 3/4 of the way through rebasing my 28mm FIW collection for the release of the new edition of Muskets & Tomahawks.

The miniatures were originally based on 20mm squares with monotone flock. I'm moving them over to 25mm round bases with a mixed flock, stones and various tufts. They look much better.

Assembled a Missionary and working on a few Sisters squads.

Painting the wooden parts on six small galleys. So the whole things, except the sails.

Assembled 3rd exorcist so AT department is pretty good for my sisters now. Support stuff(imagifiers) and HQ(canoness) pretty thin though.

I want to finish upgrading my Black Legion army and attempt to finish the army over all. I am giving myself the month of March, but I don't know if I will entirely finish.



I think the army is okay in a big picture of everything. However, looking closer at many of them reveals some models still need additional work. I also want to finally add some Chaos Predators and maybe the Noctilith Crown to pretty much complete the army until if and when another round of new CSM models come out. I want to at least get my all my Chaos Space Marines troops all painted up before I buy more stuff though.

Building the marine.side of dark Imperiums. Have 7 Interssesors, both lieutenant and the ancient done so far.

Hand of Glory KS starts 3/3. Miniatures feature "hot swappable" hands so you RPG characters can hold different objects. Yes, the cleric is holding two bottles. Get on their mailing list for a free mancatcher during the KS.

How was she to work with and assemble DV8?

Remarkably easy to assemble, with only a minor gap issue between some of the plates on the back part of the lower snaky bit (that technical terminology).

My issue with a lot of Creature Caster sculpts (particularly their old ones) is the roundness in some details, and the fact that they are notorious for mold lines and over-hangs. I was fairly fastidious in cleaning this piece having learned from my piece last year, but I'm still finding issues as I paint the piece, particularly with mold lines that only reveal themselves when you view from a specific angle because of how they hide themselves along the sculpt (they love these lines and drags, and so what I would think was a sculpted detail in say, a join, I realize as I paint that it's actually a mould line and i see the paint run over the texture of the thing.

Otherwise, i'm actually having a lot of fun painting her (probably much more so than my piece last year), partly because of the direction I'm going so far. Still a lot to do, but I'm hoping to make some solid strides with her over the next week or so once my mid-terms are over.

I have to say that (ignoring corrected pipes....) mould lines are something GW has generally been good with and are really very good with today! They are even getting really good with hiding seam and join lines in models too.

Though my worst is putting together Scourge models for Dropfleet/zone commander - for some unknown reason the designer loves to put LOADS of tiny ridges and dot details on the model RIGHT on the mould join spot. It's maddening because they are already fine detial and its half a case of either leaving the line and living with it or spending ages trying to carefully remove it without removing the detail at the same time.

Working through my terrain projects, now on the Sigmar Chapel I have. Just have to finish the base coat before I can hit it with my home made terrain wash. Then probably manage to finish it the last drybrush.

Dug out a Phobos Librarian and Captain and will be painting them up. Loving contrast, but there's a definite learning curve when using it on white primer.

Continuing with the painting of my GSC. Working on some Neophyte Hybrids and the Gunslinger today.

Been working through contrasting Blood Reavers (they’re very good for it), and dry brushed 15 Blue Horrors so my wife can paint the details on them. Honestly, painting time has dwindled, so contrast is a lifesaver for the rank and file goons. No contrast on the big boys like Greater Daemons and Archaon, but rank and file...oh yeah.

Going to start building my entry for this month's unofficial Monthly Painting Challenge.

Let loose on GW with the credit card, I'll probably regret that once my orders disappear into the warehouse of Locked Down madness that is Italy right now.

Started work sculpting up some spare guard parts, fun but the proportions keep throwing me.

Also started thinking about terrain. Having external insulation put on the house right now so I've got enough spare polystyrene to kit out several tournies! I'll keep some, but need to think about what do do with it.

Finishing off a handful of things for Batman (Bruce Wayne, Commissioner Gordon and 2 Lex Luthors) so I have a couple more or less completed factions, finishing off my Chimera for Warcry and starting on the last 3 members of my Blood Bowl team

Finished off the mounted crossbows and a third of my late medieval knights, 12 done, 24 to go. I don't actually need all of them to play a game, but they'll give me a variety of weapons and horse armour. The armoured horses and lances done so far.

I think I will spend some time on the Mantic dwarfs I got in a trade first though.

I started painting Orcs last week and now I caught a bug. I keep painting Orcs.

I figure I'll ride this wave until I'm bored and want to paint something else.
