Starting assembly on a Real Grade Gundam. I'm trying to branch out in my plastic crack habit.

And wow, I put together a High Grade Z'gok earlier this week and it was relatively painless, but this a complex model. The feet are like 8 pieces each.

But I'm amazed by the fact that even with a high parts count nothing feel flimsy or too small, it's all really solid. And the casting is amazing compared to most wargaming plastics - there are sprues that contain several different colors of plastic for different parts (and it's cast, with no mixing between the colors), and sprues with moveable parts cast in a way that they're already connected but still moveable.

And it costs less than a primaris ATV.

Primed the remainder of my CSM/Chosen Special/Heavy Weapons. I am also trying to finish up the rest of my Havocs. If I stick to it, I might even have all of my Black Legion infantry painted by the start of the new year.

Now that I've wrapped the last gift in the pile (my friends Red Gobbo)? Absolutely nothing.

About 7 hrs of sleep,
A bit of last minute food prep in the morning,
Load stuff in car as Christmas isn't at my place this year,
And then afternoon+ with family.

My buddy won't receive his Gobbo until Sat/Sunday.

Played a game of BattleTech for the first time in two years. Tons of fun.

Speedy Clan lights/mediums took on 6 ComStar heavy 'Mechs and ran circles around them.

I am currently resisting the urge to open up my Space Marine Heroes Death Guard set that the kids “got me” for Christmas (they’re 0-5 so I got them, my wife wrapped them and the kids handed them to me with a look of “We have no idea what’s going on!” on the their faces). The Matrix is on TV tonight, will start assembling them then with a beer.

Since I'm running out of gold after doing 3 Thousand Sons Characters, I switched to Nids.

Started 5 metal Raveners and an old Screamer Killer for an upcoming game/scenario (we still don't know that'll be), but I'll have those units ready or when we can gather again

Finishing off a rocketpod for my knights. Once I'm done, the army will officially be 100% painted.

Welcome break during Christmas before four more weeks of courses until the end of January.

Finished painting all the dwarfs that I intend to and took pictures of the lot.

Made my own Akhorne, Blood Bowl squirrel, from a halfling bit. Trimmed the halfling head to make it look like a rock and it came out pretty decent.

I couldn't bring myself to paint any more gold trim on my Chaos Space Marines. So I switched over to trying to finish painting all of my Ork kill team.



I am going to try and get at least a model a day done to finally finish them. I know the Flash Gitz are going to be tough as I really like those models and want them to look nice.

Tonight I will build two more Necron Tomb Blades and a new Necron Heavy Destroyer & convert it to be a Destroyer Lord

Tue night - finish building a Tri-arch Stalker and another Command/Annihilation Barge

Wed night - build my last Doom/Nightscythe & two Ghost Arks.

And that will finish off my building of Necrons - until/unless my last two boxes of Tomb Blades arrive... Hoping they make it here in Dec. so I can end the year with all of my Necrons built, primed, & base coated.

Thur day = prime & base coat all Necrons still in need of such.
Thur. night = non-gaming New Years Eve plans.

Finished my 5 Raveners, and also did a bonus Biovore while I was at it.

Gonna work on my Screamer Killer next, hoping to finish it before new year!

Assembled 40 Necron warriors, which got the Indomitus boxes done. Bit crass to mention it i know, but they gotta be the deal of the decade.

Day turned out quite nice so took the opportunity and primed a load of terrain.

Worked on some scratch built Necromunda terrain.

Spent most of the day playing Black Crusade with a bunch of friends.

Witnessed a party member bluff his way into an ancient Chaos Temple of Lies by pretending to be someone who had been invited there.

Then that guy showed up, and the man in charge of the temple was convinced with both stories, so decided to let him solve the issue via 1:1 combat. Our party member cut the other Marine to ribbons in seconds, and they accepted him as the other person.

This is after we nearly burned a local hotel down because the same guy slighted another of the party.

We're very good at starting violence for no reason...

My cousin got me the JAWS boardgame by Ravensberger for Christmas.
So I'm reading over the rules & playing a solo test game or two this afternoon so I can easily teach it tomorrow.

Not the most in-depth thing on my shelf, not the worst either. At 1st glance/playthrough I'm thinking it's inferior to Horrified (another Ravensberger game we play alot).
It'll get some play though.

Its chief limitation is that its got a hard cap of 4 players. For a group who often has 5 players.

Finally got around to assembling the last 20 of my 120 chainrasps then OCD kicked in and I sorted them by their poses.

Found an old metal Dwarf model in with some paints I purchased the other day. Think he will look great with a bright ginger beard.

Also have another batch of secondhand paints to pick up from somebody I know. Most of the paints belong to the current Citadel range and a few Vallejo mixed in for good luck.

Drop some glass beads into my paint pots to help mix the paint. I brought a good sized bag of cheap large glass beads in an attempt to help mix the paint when I shake to pots.

Technically I did this last night rather than today but I undercoated a bunch of Plague Marines and a Myphitic Blight Hauler, then did the flesh highlights on about a dozen Poxwalkers. I could probably play with them now but want to get all the details done - going to have to go maggot hunting!

Switched to the Judiciar I’ve been agonising over since the beginning of November. Nearly done, will finish the base tomorrow afternoon.

Cleaning up my desk. Chucked out any doubles of Conquest/Mortal Realms magazines and looking at what projects Ive got buried.

Also updated my forum avatar to a certain Nomad about to be ripped in half by The Dropbear.

I just ordered the Zona Alpha rulebook. While I was on Osprey's site I got carried away and also ordered Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter . . . and the Dark Judges expansion.

Now just have to convince Mrs. DJ Jazzy Jeff it was a good idea.

I have cut off the tree my Jotnar was holding and plan to replace it with something else, maybe a rock or a knight?

Put little big men studios decals onto my gripping beast dismounted teutonic knight's shields, and cut down 7x 40k bike bases for my newly arrived mounted Teutonic knights and attached their horses to them. Kitted out mounted knights and commander, banner bearer and started arming some pig iron productions zombies (I know I shouldn't I mean it only encourages them) with random tools etc.

Finished the tedious bits of my Kurgats so I can do the accent colors!

Finished building a fish and chips stand for pulp alley. Scratch build that uses coffee stirrers, foam core imprinted with brick patterns from a texture roller and corrugated cardboard for the metal roof

I created a plasma knight count as forgefiend.

Chaosyfied a m16 field mortar for use as a count as Earthshaker for my renegades, AND proceeded to plan the next purchases for the mountain of shame and project.

I just bought some Bondic the other day, and it arrived. It's a liquid that then cures using ultraviolet light. So I poured some into the cracks from the two halves of a Librarian, hit it for a few seconds wth the light, and just like that: no more cracks.

With little else to do during a lockdown I thought I'd give the Guard a little muster.



That's now 566 painted Praetorians in there along with Mordians, Ventrillian Nobles and 55 of Wargames Atlantic Les Grognards (ie not-Vostroyans)

Been working on the Thousand Sons and Daemons a fair bit. So exhilarating to be working on something other than Marines.

I was after a slightly different take on an Armoured Fist platoon around the time Mantic were doing their Warpath Kickstarter, and the Veermyn Tunnelers fitted the bill.

Those Praetorians are painted in a WWI Western Front British inspired scheme.

Working on my kitbashed Vanguard Vets.

Slowly painting up a demi-squad (combat squad?) of Assault Intercessors in classic Blood Angel style after seeing Duncan's tutorial on it. I've never quite liked painting red, especially using the bright red used in this scheme, but thankfully a wet palette is a great tool for this sort of thing.

Then I found out that Blood Angel assault Marines wear yellow helmets. I hate painting yellow more than red, ugh.

Backorder of Mortal Realm magazines came in and I complete assembly of the plastic Mausoleum terrain. I'll probably base the lot onto larger bases later so I can add remnants of a cobblestone path, extra gravestones, tree stumps and overgrowth around them.

Today I will be clearing out a room so I can set up a painting table. With time I hope the room will become the hobby room. At the moment its just where everybody throws their unwanted stuff.

If I get some time then look into a bit more painting.

Good on you. I think having a dedicated spot to paint is probably the #1 thing to prevent inertia from setting in during natural lulls in excitement with the painting side.

Started on my Necron army this weekend. I just had to work on them as my mind has just about every detail on how I want to get them done planned out. Plus, they are so easy to cover so much ground with. I still have another 20 Warriors to round out my steel-tide Necron army, but I think this was pretty good work for a weekend. I am going with a Mephrit inspired paint scheme. I find the default Mephrit scheme for the Warriors way too plain, so I am adding so extra zazz to mine. I was going to also go with white for the rib cage, but that seemed a little much for that many warriors. So I will reserve it for more elite Necrons instead.

1 Monolith - On this one I can only really assemble a few portions of it prior to painting it. So it could be quite awhile before it ever hits a table.

Planning on doing some work on my Space Marines this evening.

Slowly working on 27 Termagants with Devourer (the recent point drop helped with the motivation).

Been a couple weeks I've been on that unit but going slowly without forcing it ensure that I don't get bored and burned out of painting midway (happened too many times when I was doing Fantasy regiment).

Painted first base for chaos and worked on 64 gloomspite gits getting 59 done. First completed models for 2021.

Took a break from building Necrons to clean/build/base-coat a dryad/tree-folk from Creature Caster. Very nice model.

Finished my first Infantry Squad and decided to do a family photo of my Squats so far.

They look very nifty!

Reckon I’ll do 20 as Gauss Flayers.

Blocked in colours and started shading and highlighting a Myphitic Blight-Hauler over the past couple of days. Did nothing today thanks to having to go into work THREE TIMES across the day - once due to pure stupidity.

The space marines will be having more work done on them this evening. Eradicators are getting there while Bladeguard aren't far behind.

Finished my Saber tank for Legion, finishing off my Republic army with it, and started on my 2nd unit of Mandalorians while I finish bases on the 1st

Gloomspite vs nurgle. Game night ahoy! 2nd game with gloomspite. Let's see does winning streak continue or opening defeat suffered. Either way hard for warboss to be even more of a whif than last time. He literally performs better than first game if he dies without killing anything!

More work on my Necrons. I think sometime this weekend I be rotating them out for something else to paint for a while. I managed to cover a lot of ground for my initial go on the Necrons, but it feels like time to take a break on them and work on something else for a bit. Not quite sure just yet.

Is that just white/gray dry brushing on the carapace? My genestealers have very dark grey chitin, and I am looking for a way to make it look better. I really like how your nids plates look and think something like that could make mine look a lot better.

Yeah I drybrushed 3 greys there; Mechanicus Standard Grey, Administratum Grey and Ulthuan Grey. Since drybrush can be messy, I hit them back with some black wash on the flat area or to clean up he gradient. In this case here, I used some thinned down black contrast (with the contrast thinner) to test it out and it worked pretty well (my drybrush brush was dying and I tried other brushes to mixed results and needed to fix some parts so contrast sounded better with the stronger pigment versus a normal wash).

The Island Priests from Crooked Dice have arrived.



These are small, not far away.

I haven't looked forward to TV comedy inspired wargame figures this much since Victoria Lamb's Monty Python inspired 40K Inquisitor models.

Just primed my Eisenhorn. I lost his foot a few weeks back, I took him out of the sprue at my local GW and after I took him out of the sprue I gave it to Will, the dude who works there, to throw out. Then a few days later came in to assemble him, but it turned out I'd neglected to take his right foot from the sprue, like an idiot. I spent a day trying to make a replacement foot out of some old grey stuff. I did...alright, after three tries. It doesn't have any detail like the "real" boot but the way I accidentally made it makes his pose more dynamic as his right foot is lifted off the ground. I ordered another miniature of Eisenhorn. Decided to use my Eisenhorn now to practise for the later one. Wish to make a Killteam with him and Harlon Nayl using Tempestuous Scions.

Like almost everything I do, it has an ulterior motive, it's for research for a TT skirmish game I've begun making set in my Angaran Chronicles setting, which would work very well, as the main characters are a squad of elite black-ops who partake in many small skirmishes in the novel I've been working on for a few years now. But Killteam seems fun from the brief demo I played at GW a few days back, although, it became a bit of a pillow fight between the Primaris Marines I was playing and the Necrons Will were using lol. And Killteam seems to be a bit more affordable to me than full on 40k lol

Since I was working on that 30-gaunt squad, I decide that I might as well do some more!

I have 9 old school Termagants left to paint (out of 25), so I started with those.

Also at the same time I worked on repairing 10 regular Termagants rescued from the second-hand market. A bit of greenstuff, mould lines cleaning, a missing feet restored, now they are primed are waiting in line!

I'm building (assembling, repurposing) a table on which to set up terrain so I can play some games in my garage.

I'm assembling the cool canoptek spyder that came with Indomitus. It had a weird default pose and they included the datasheet for some other model... But I'm still having fun with it.

Finally doing some painting! Its been over four months since I last picked up a brush but I'm painting some Skitarii.

Started the day by clearing everybody's junk from my painting area.

Started a cute little mole miniature by cleaning mold lines and priming. Also trying my hand at a small building which if works will be the start to a village.

I did like 10 minutes on the Myphitic Blight-Hauler that really should be fully done by now.

Painting my Eisenhorn, pretty fun and almost addictive, actually.

Painting, mostly, and soon kitbashing for my new project.

Working on gloomspites. Just 3 models need basing detail and the terrain piece needs detail work and 2k done.

Man, that just reminds me that i still haven't read the shepherd's crown. i have trouble reading the last of anything, and with that... it's just so final. But i am thinking of somewhat more unsettling elves, yeah. not as sadistic as pratchett's elves, maybe.

Painting up my dread. It's still a miniature, but it's so much bigger than a space marine. It's soaking up so much paint!

I finished my Abberants and Abominant. Continuing on the rest of my GSC now.

Magnetising models for a magnetic case, which is going well so far although I could see it get pricey pretty quick if I wanted more of my armies magnetised for future figure cases.

today i am searching the internet over for random bits so i can make the most of my deathmarks/immortals kit XD. Instead of finding parts i need however, I ended up windowshopping forgeworld for things i dont need that i can't afford! XD

Working on my Ossiarch Bone Reapers. I have 5 Kavalos Deathriders and four Motrek Guard to finish before I can pick up a Leige-Kavalos and the Bone Tithe Nexus, and I have my 1000pt force finished.

About to start painting up an ages old WHFB giant (from 5th ed I think. He's not a "gargant", plastic, nor even all that giant nowdays...) I recently found in my storage & put to use in my Behemet army.
Tonight the runt earned his paint. He killed Skarbrand, stuffed 2! Mighty Skullkrushers into his bag, AND survived the battle!
He also gets a proper name.

Painted yet another 10 Termagants, finishing the 30 regular Fleshborer unit. That's a total of 46 Gaunts painted in about 2 weeks! I'm pretty damn proud of myself for that because horde units like that are always boring and tedious and I managed to complete them all and not get bored to death!

That makes it 2 full units of 30 (one Fleshborer, one Devourer), plus 25 more with Fleshborer from the old-school models!

I'm out of primer now though, so I'll dig and see what's already primed but not painted. Or shop for some primer (shops are still more-or-less closed still here, so we'll see about that).

Finished building an incomplete Rogue Trader metal Tyranid Warrior. Was missing his sword arms so I gave him some from the 2nd edition metal Warriors with some greenstuff to match the textures on it. Gonna use him as a Prime for my 2nd edition plastic Warriors.

I bought some Legion Phase II Troopers on a whim. This guy here is named Utu, after the Maori concept of reciprocation, or in cases of wrong done to you, revenge.

Building 10 Lychguard with shields to run with my various Necrons choppy Lords.

After that I have to write up 2 lists: an undead list for AoS & a WWII desert British force for Flames of War.

After modifying a necron warrior to prove the concept of adding the deathmark gun and head (via magnets), I assembled my first magnetized Immortal (for just gauss and tesla). Tricky, and I'm going to have to find a good visual que to keep gun arm/model pairings, but proof of concept established. Time to get on with the rest of his squad.

Assembled and began painting my Callidus assassin and starting painting the head of my old Company Master Remiel I did like years and years ago now.

Finished building my last Hive Guard today (made from 2nd edition metal Warrior). Will finally be able to field all 6 if we can get out of confinement and play some games!

I reckon by that time the new Nids book will be out and Hive Guards will be out of flavor...

Painted my first squad of rebel troopers for Sar Wars legion. Painted both Luke and Vader. Next will be working on some stormtroopers.

Was painting the face of my Company Master Remiel miniature that I made with the awesome metal old Dark Angels Company Master who'd I'd painted most of years ago. Watching a video by his hallowedness Duncan on how to paint pale flesh helped me considerably. Going to use him to lead a Kill Team of company veterans. Now assembling my Exarch for my Dire Avengers for my Eldar Kill Team, trying to figure out how to make Autarch Raloth Arlyandor. I have several old metal Autarch models I can use which I might convert. But also have an over abundance of old Dire Avenger sprues too. That's how I made him years ago using some green stuff.

Finished off my Myphitic Blight-Hauler (will post in the P&M section soon) and blocked some colours on 16 Poxwalkers. Aiming to have 1000 points of Death Guard by the end of lockdown (currently set at 5th March), when hopefully I can also pick up the new Codex.

I'm trying to find the bits to make a fun little flying style alien.

Magnetizing the technomancer w/ canoptek cloak. It's cheap, but a lot of times you're going to want the control node and I'd feel funny having him on the 50mm base in those instances.

Besides, after those immortals.. piece of cake!

I cleaned my bench off today. Found 27 different hot wheels cars buried throughout the stuff I had piled up.

I might have a problem.

Received my Forgeworl order today of transfer sheets and regular stuff like paint and brushes.

Got the Custodes one to finish my vehicles as well as the Thousand Sons sheet. Started fiddling with them right away! Applying decals to marines shoulders suck, but man does those Custodes one really make the vehiclesr pop!

Loving it so far!

Went to my local GW with one of my old Dire Avengers I painted years ago to ask the manager, a bit of a local celebrity, Nathan to see if he could help me find the equivalent colours I used...back in 09? Maybe? I he said two colours and I tried one on a new Dire Avenger and it's a bit too dark. Also bought some more paint to fix up the flat gold on my Company Master Remiel. Primed my new Dire Avenger Exarch and finally assembled my Autarch. I'm looking forward to playing Kill Team with them.

I got some miniatures from a german tabletop game, which is not in production anymore. I dont even know what scale the miniature are, but I am planning on find some information for the figures and the system and might start building a diorama to display them.

Spent an unusual amount of time painting a Chaplain's face yesterday, will be doing some freehand this afternoon I think.

Work continues on my 12 trolls. Also on 40 spear grots.

I have a handful of models I want to get finished tonight before I work on my latest purchases. I'll have to sculpt the bases for them so it'll take awhile. Hopefully I'll get it all mostly done tonight and ready to be painted tomorrow.

Another sculpting project done and finished for me... now onto moar green stuffing.

Began prep work on the first 500pts of my Undead 1/2ling army.
Began the prep work for a large narrative AoS battle I'm planning for early summer by building the 1st StD unit (Untamed Beast cultists).

Finally got my paint similar to my old Dire Avengers after some experimentation so began painting my Dire Avengers Exarch with Shimmer Shield and Glaive for my KIll team and primed my metal Autarch who I would've begun painting if I hadn't accidentally knocked him off my desk. Although, after the players in my Rogue Trader campaign pointed out the green, yellow and gold are Australian colours I'm not sure what colour combination I want to give Dalorsia anymore :(

Messing around trying to figure out how to get my printer to feed correctly.

Finished applying transfers to my Custodes vehicles. Could add more, so many options! But I have to stop at a point and I'm satisfied with them for now!

Also flocked my Hive Guards in preparation of priming, they are high on the list for next painting project. Might also preparer a monster or two at the same time.

Minor progress on my planned summer narrative AoS battle - built the new Khagra's Ravagers kit this evening.
Made rough list of StD/Chaos units I want to include in the battle. Not a real army list yet, just a visual based one atm.

I did some work on one of my Guardians and decided on my Craftworld colours Caliban Green mostly with Wagghh green for high lights then Dark Angels green for dark areas, want a brighter green for high lights. Kantor blue on shoulder guards and knee pads and cod piece and Alaitoc blue for high lights. Helmet is white with a black face plate with purple gems and purple helmet lenses. I'm just trying to figure out how to translate it to my Autarch.

Started making some little terrain bits from xps, probably for use with Rangers of Shadow Deep. Happy with them for first time try.

I've some mdf 40k terrain from last year thats near finished so thinking I should try get them painted and make bases to match my gamemat

Today, I will be painting a little. I recently received a bunch of dogs and bunnies from a Kickstarter and I look forward to getting a few more of them done. Along with generally working my way through my way too big pile of random unpainted minis. The current aim is to get at least 25 done per week, so it's going to be a fun operation!

Snowed in today, so going to try to make some progress on my Bladeguard Vets.

Sculpting, mixing Milliput and Kneadite together to create a base that will set the figure I'm working off nicely, while embedding the support rod holding the figure to the base firmly.

Work continues on 40 grots　and　12 trolls.

Built the other 3 StD chariots for the summer narrative AoS game I'm planning.

The true purpose of the chariots in this game will be to quickly evacuate loot tokens from the board, not serve as fighting platforms.
With this in mind I magnetized the feet of the 2nd crew member of each. Now they can double as a small unit of foot troops for this scenario or be added back as crew in regular AoS play.

And since I built my chariots using the Rokar Gresh Iron Reaper set x2? I have a spare 6th chariot. This one I'll build pulled by a gorbeast. It can go fight.

Practically finished painting my autarch and I'm liking it, but the paint seems to be bubbling and in some cases chipping, which sucks. But he's a test because I've decided to buy the newer awesome autarch with wings, fusion pistol, power sword and mandiblasters, mostly due to me being unable to stick the replacement plastic arms which are the Dire Avenger Exarch's Dire sword and Shimmer Shield without them constantly falling off. Maybe should have washed it before applying the undercoat.

Also assembled my old metal Striking Scorpions, made the Exarch with...the CLAW and chainsword. But by the Emp...I mean by Khaine it took forever to stick the claw on, but I got there, I got there. Waiting for it to dry properly before I even try to stick on the chainsword.

I have a backlog of units which might allow me to make an army. About three squads of Dire Avengers, at least three old Autarchs, A farseer, three warlocks, six Striking Scorpions, I'm not sure how many Harlequins, maybe nine? And a Troupe Master, they're metal, though, so they'll be fun to stick together, will have to pin them together. Two old school Jet Bikes, two guardian emplacements, and a Wraithlord. So might be able to make the beginnings of an army for proper 40k as well as Killteam, one day.

Oh! And a Vyper, too.

Got some more work done on The Dread Pageant, looking forward to getting some definition on the models as they are in their ugly phase right now.

Got the printer fixed, upgraded, and running. With that out of the way I am jumping between learning some slicer programs, and working on an mdf ruin piece.

More assembly! More Death Company! That’s 15 of the angry buggers to make the backbone of a Vanguard DC detachment.

Today I'm going to work on my desert halflings from Deserts of the Dead. And alongside them a few more of my Warhammer beastmen that seem to be nearly everywhere. I just have to get over my dislike of painting metal.

Ugg was distracted by video games all weekend and didn't get any painting done. Hopefully will finish the dudes on my table before the end of the week and move on to ACTUALLY finishing a project.

Assembled my 2nd Eisenhorn model. Took longer than I thought, wanted to undercoat spray him along with a whole heap of other miniatures, but he wouldn't stick so once I finally got him to, I just let him lie and dry. I sprayed my Striking Scorpions, Farseer, two Warlocks and one of my Heavy Weapon Platforms. And as I looked into my model case I found my Hero Forge Miniatures of my Angaran Chronicles main characters Raleas and Anargrin.

Big mistake. Once I'd finished I looked at Anargrin and Raleas and they were covered in...fur? Just jagged bits of crap. I did some research and it turned out its residue from the 3d printing that needed to be washed off before spraying with...a chemical I can't remember the name of. I spent quite a while getting it off by dunking them in water and scraping it off with my modelling knife.

Then base coated my Scorpions with WAAGH! Flesh and began painting one and pretty happy with him so far, just have to remember that while His holiness Duncan says to thin your paints, not to thin them too much lol. Also began painting my weapons platform too.

I'm hoping to have my Wraithlord assembled a 3rd squad of Dire Avengers soon, also have to paint my 2nd Dire Avengers squad to differentiate them from the 1st.

Assembling slaves to darkness. Need blend fixed basing parts on models plus do robes etc still.

Prepping a Sanguinary Priest to hopefully undercoat on Monday when this winter storm is meant to dissipate and be replaced by a mild, dry day. Going to be a whole lotta undercoating whenever the weather finally breaks.

Prepping more undead 1/2lings while I wait on the GW shipment containing the rest of my Slaves To Darkness projects kits.

My new table lights are on the way and I can't be happier to get back to building things after a year off. Hopefully those will be in on Monday.

Currently I'm working on my AT titans. The more I work on these Reavers, the more I think magnetizing them is way more trouble than it is worth doing. I have four Reavers, which should allow me to build plenty of different types. I really do not ever see me playing Reavers with double chain fists, or double power fists, or even double melta guns. The Warlord made sense to me, because it magnetizes so easily and Warhounds seem to be better candidates over the Reavers. I've got some terrain too for this game that I'm super excited to get to work on.

I'm also working on getting color on my Necrons and painting me planes for AI. I've got a few non-gw products going too. Some Nolzurs models for D&D and some nice ST models from the Star Trek Adventures game, really looking forward to getting some color on them too. And while I'm thinking about it, I'm really, really excited for those new skellies from the Warhammer AOS game. They look so much better than the weird bone constructs from that other AoS army.

Reaver is only trouble if you insist on cables. If those aren'" worry easy enough

I'm fast painter last year did 4 2k-4k armies to aos(3 of them starting september), sob for 40k, couple k necrons and big bunch of lotr models.

The 3k lumineth in 2 months was painfully slow :(

I undercoated one (1) model today and managed to shatter the bolt pistol barrel on my Lemartes. Boo!

Working on some old school ghost for Fantasy out of nostalgia (I do not play anymore, even less so on an old edition where infantry ghost is a thing!). Being part of many old school gaming groups on FB take it's toll on the nostalgia and made me buy a few models and work on old school units here and there

I stripped 2 models (some need more time and more scrubbing), cleaned them and pinned them to their base, then did a batch of greenstuff for the 8 (out of 10) models ready to help solidify them some more.

Pretty much finished my Striking Scorpions, pretty happy with them.

Base coated 35 civilians/villagers for my AoS summer scenario.

Starting to highlight Foetid Bloat Drone. Then I I will continue with Indomitus Necrons (Warriors ready). After these are done I can allow myself to buy new stuff

After much searching around the internet and contacting people I found some Chaos Black on Happy Go Lucky in Clonakiltys website, might be worth a shot if you'd use that

Began assembling my 3rd Dire Avengers squad this one led by an Exarch with a shruiken pistol and Dire Sword as well as a Eldar jet bike which is one of the super old school ones. Was missing an arm so replaced it with another now it looks comical to say the least but whatever works lol. Also, began my kit bashed Space Marine champion properly. He's like kneeling with his shield over his head in defence of some in coming blow and his sword out too. I'm using one of the helmetless heads I got from my cousin from the Ravenwing box the one with hair. I'm pretty happy with him so far.

Almost the entire model was painted with Scale75's instant colour range, their equivalents to GW contrasts.

Though there were a few exceptions:
GW Mordant Earth base
Shirt (GW Wraithbone + Apothecary White)
Hair (GW Grey Seer + Apothecary White)
Belt, buckle & buttons


For some reason the Scale75 instants don't really have a white. The other parts were just a little too intricate for the wash-like nature of the paint. Or at least, my hand using them.

I've got a bunch of other models in progress too, but I haven't really figured out what I'm going to do about the white masks they're wearing...

I'm currently enjoying expanding my not-Vostroyan contingent following the arrival of three boxes of Wargames Atlantic's Les Grognards Command and Heavy Weapons models.

Uhh, went into town today and found my Autarch had arrived at my local GW, just assembled him and based my champion conversion thingy. Hoping to spray my Autarch tomorrow, before I go to GW and play a game of Kill Team against my cousin who's playing Death Guard, wish me luck. I'm hoping my list will allow me to overcome the toughness :/

I’ve had a unit of 16 Poxwalkers on the go for a few months now and going to try and get them over the line this week. Finished the first three today:

Hopefully base coating another 20some AoS/D&D villagers.

Did a few things today, sprayed my Autarch, 2nd Eisenhorn, my jetbike and a couple of other miniatures.

Played my 2nd game of Kill Team against my cousin. He was lucky right from the get-go as he rolled for the mission and got the kill commander one when he had a nigh unkillable Death Guard commander when I had a far more squishy Autarch. It ended with the Autarch and Death Guard leader duking it out mono e mono and despite me using the tactic that allows re-rolling missed attacks and failed wounding rolls against an enemy commander and my Autarch having five attacks, a fusion pistol and mandiblasters and and the Death Guard leader's strength neither did the other one any damage. I just kept saving my invulnerable saves. Would've been a damn epic fight for the other warriors to watch, almost tempted to write a short story about it lol. So the game ended in a draw.

Just began painting my old metal Farseer, pretty happy with him so far, a bit more practise before beginning my new Autarch using the lessons I've learned so far.

Finally got some paint on a metal Kal Jerico and Scabbs.

Currently assembling my new FW Beakies and one Mk IV legion Apotechary (which is sadly sold out now; a lovely sculpt!)

I need to find a stronger bonding alternative to standard blutac. These prebuilds are barely holding together.. Any suggestions welcome! I always prebuild my minis with blutac and agonize over posing the models for months, taking reference pics etc.. And usually in that time period the poses start drooping hehe

Organizing small aos tournament. Alas can't play myself(unless somebody does last minute cancellation) as there's even number of players and i have strict "no bye rounds" policy in my tournaments but have box of varanguard to assemble in the meantime

Began painting my new Autarch properly I'm very happy with him so far, but I'm beginning to realise my colour scheme is looking a bit Dark Eldary using Caliban Green as base, with Warpstone Glow and Dark Angels Green contrast and Biel Tan Green Shade. Besides the white and blue parts. I think I need a blue shade and/or contrast paints. Also, almost finished my farseer and my older Autarch a bit of Nuln Oil on the white surfaces makes a huge difference.

Just opened two gangs for Dracula's America. Deciding wether to put them on GW bases or thin Renedra bases.

I painted a small cat blue.

Trying to get motivated to do something today....
1) Shower/shave & head down to the local shop for our fading 40k Crusade?
or
2) decide between cooking/ordering pizza for dinner, stay home, watch Netflix & prep another 60-80 undead 1/2lings?

Just been building the struts for plasticard tracks for my skorpius conversion. Bought some wheels to add tomorrow.

Tournament done so back to painting. Finished 5 chaos knights and chaos lord putting month total to 67. Next chaos charriot crews. 12 of those.

Bought a blue shade and a blue contrast paint for the dark parts and mid gradient respectively which I applied to my old Autarch and Farseer's blue bits, making them look a lot better (The new paints make painting so much easier back when I was last painting like more than ten years ago) Started painting my two metal Warlocks (I have three but lost the sword of one somewhere down through the years) and my old school Jet Biker.

I'm glad I began playing Kill Team as it's helped me get a couple of ideas for my own TT Skirmish gaming system.

Finished cleaning up the Ghosts models for my oldhammer unit (that I do not play) and flocked them. They are ready to prime and paint and hope to do that soon as I'm itching to paint them up!

In the meantime, I'm working on a squad of 5 Rubric Marines from the old range of Chaos Marines with upgrades parts (had a few squads donated to me) as I started them but never went far as other project got in the way. Plus they look way easier to paint than the normal models so that's a plus

Began re-painting my 2nd Dire Avengers squad to differentiate them from my 1st (this one led by an Exarch wielding dual shuriken catapults which might be a better exarch for Kill Team as my Exarch with a power glaive and shimmer shield didn't do much (well, he did, he killed many a pox walker, but his lack of a ranged weapon didn't help and his shimmer shield didn't do anything)

I glued up and spray painted my Exarch for my 3rd Dire Avengers squad and might begin painting him to test out a new colour scheme, this one with a Dire Sword and Shuriken Pistol.

Prepped another 40 undead 1/2lings from TTCombat this evening.

Nice enough minis, but each & everyone of them requires removal of numerous resin supports. And then cleanup of some mold lines on about half.
Then, being resin, a nice soapy bath, a rinse, & dry.

Did skin tones on a selection of Imperial models, detailing on a squad of poxwalkers and primed a Valhallan grey for a much-needed repaint. Also started work on an objective marker / beacon thingy.

Finish the last two Stormcast models from the Soul Wars box then priming one I stripped to experiment with a colour scheme for the Anvils Of The Heldenhammer.

I also have a Chainrasp to strip because I just cant seem to find a scheme for them I like

Put together most of a Rhino for my DG last night. Going to start Chaos-ifying it over the next few evenings with milliput and spare bits. It's just a standard loyalist Rhino so I don't have the Chaos Rhino sprue to do it the trad way so going to go with tentacles, bubbling boils, faces emerging from the metal work, etc.

"Finished" by 2nd Dire Avenger Exarch's bare head, he's alright, trying to practise pale skin and eyes for when I eventually get to my Hero Forge Anargrin and Raleas minis. Did a bit more work on my new DA Exarch.

Getting some surfacer down on the chonkiest boy, Robot Gorillaman - I removed all the EMPORER DAMNED HERETICAL swirly bits of flair, so smoothing that all out in prep for paint/primer

Adding weapons and priming some Gaslands cars. Also, did more work on Truckzilla.

I think I've finished my 2nd Dire Avengers squad they look pretty good. Began practising free handing the Dire Avengers' symbol on their helmets, to very little success so far, but I'll keep at it later, the practice might help me improve for more complex things later.

Cleaning up more undead 1/2lings. Tonight will be 20 archers & 20 ghouls.

Then I've got to write up several Necron lists for this weekend.
And finally I have to do some prep for the next D&D game.

Put another coat on the underside of my Avenger Fighter this morning, going to try to get it ready for transfers this evening.

Silly me took on a commission from a friend to paint a couple board games instead of working any of my 5 armies. Well I finished his copy of Nemesis and started working on his copy of Tainted Grail. He neglected to mention he has almost all of the expansions lol. Oh well, he's feeding my plastic addiction so it's good

Painted my prized Autarch a bit more today, did another coat of his Warp Stone Glow and Alaitoc Blue high lights and shaded his wings, very happy with him so far. I want to take photos of him but my phone camera is a bit of a dud.

Kitbashed a guardsman for my inquisitorial warband. Guardsmen proportions are awful.

Working on kitbashing troops for my 9th Age Chaos Dwarf army. Very basic swaps. Irondrake bodies, with Chaos Space Marine shoulderpads, Gyrobomber 'backpacks', and Chaos knight heads.

Painted a Frostgrave lady wizard.
Primed 5 Oathmark goblin wolf riders for skirmish gaming and also some scratchbuild sci-fi bldgs were primed.

Last night I got 7 Poxwalkers mostly done and tonight I started modifying my Rhino to be more Death Guardy.

Uhh...painted more of my Autarch and experimented with the colour scheme of my 3rd Dire Avenger squad. Also, freehanded the flag of my 1st Dire Avenger squad's Exarch which took a couple of tries. Also assembled the rest of the 3rd squad and they're ready for undercoating...wait, later today. Also, counted out my remaining sprues and bits and old painted models and I think I might just have enough for a 4th 10-man squad of Dire Avengers...so yay lol

I am painting many things purple

I think I've finished my 1st Dire Avenger squad, which I'm happy about as it was looking at them that inspired me to get into painting my Eldar again. I took a few photos.

Edit: photos won't work unless I make them public on Imgur which is a crappy place.

I shaded the white and metallics of my Avengers and freehanded the Dire Avengers' symbol on their helms, it was funny, for a while as I was building them up they reminded me of when I was boarding at a Catholic College here in NZ and how on Lent the ash being marked on the forehead lol.

I'll try them from a Discord thingy I uploaded them to.

Cleaned up 40 zombie halflings & began building the new DoK Endless spells.

Working on these chariots(6), finished assembly of　10 hellstriders, assembled 20 ghouls and painted bunch of bases for chaos.

A bit of Milliput action tonight - fixing the shattered gun barrel on my Lemartes (tricky), hiding the join on my Terminator Captain’s cloak (far less tricky), and making a tentacle with the leftover Milliput that I had mixed to put on my DG Rhino. Also undercoated a bunch of Necrons.

Now that my order of bases has finally arrived I can get on with basing all those undead 1/2lings I've been cleaning up/prepping.
Next week should see painting commence on the 1st 500 pts worth.

Finished painting two Thousand Sons characters, feels like it took me forever to finish them!

Also, those Thousand Sons are damned good, Skywave. No wonder it seemed to take you ages.

Uhh, a bit, sprayed most of my third Dire Avengers squad good old Chaos Black and painted the white parts with Corax White base paint. Injured my wrist weeding the garden so that was a bit harder than it could've been. Rewinding time a bit to yesterday, I bought some Casandora Shade and used it on 1st DA squad's yellow parts because they'd seemed a bit flat and well, it worked quite well, so they might be finally finished after I began painting them, like, probably ten years ago, maybe? Frig, it is about that long ago, them and my 2nd DA squad, too. Also, while waiting for the Chaos spray to finish I applied some Biel-Tan shade on my Autarch, for the mid-tone.

Uhh, yeah, should be writing but meh lol

I've been removing mould lines off some Runewars stuff and gearing up to finish off some space marines.

Those are really nice characters Skywave.

I started on some metal Necromunda beasts - Giant Rats, Ripper Jakes and Millisaurs.

Working on a Thousand Sons Dread right now (the FW kind, not the Helbrute kind) but it ended up being so simple to do that I will finish it today.

Adding tufts on the flocked bases of my 15mm Medieval Germans to improve them.

Well, most of the undead 1/2lings are cleaned up & based.
20 ghouls, about 6 bases worth of spirits, & 2 skull catapults to go.

Base coated most of my 2nd Dire Avengers squad with Macragge Blue, which took a little while. Then later fixed up the whites and blacks, then painted on the Wagghh Green parts. Also, did a bit more work on my Autarch. The Shade paints make painting much easier than what it was fifteen years ago, or so. But it was much easier with the inks? My friend got me and my other friend back painting 40k on a whim a long time ago and he taught me a technique easy as hell and it made the models, as the great Charlie Kelly once said look "AMAYZING" you coat it with the...thin panting stuff and stand it, let it dry. Then go over it again then hang it upside down and it goes into the edges and bing bang boom you've got a nicely shaded model. While I don't think they had the character of my hand-painted models, it's so much easier.

Started work on my painting challenge entry. Aiming for a shiny white armour and some NMM details as a test for myself. Haven't done anything like this before.

Packing up my entire collection preparing or a house move. Yikers! It's a lot.

Last night no painting but did get 40 ghouls assembled minus heads. Today demoing AOS for newbie with 1k game and then plan to get the ghouls finished and ready for priming.

Have 74 ghouls to paint...thankfully these are done by contrast so reasonably fast. Bases are going to be the slow thing.

Working on detail for my Chaplain. Purity seals, cloak highlights and so forth.

Cleaned & based the remaining undead 1/2lings: 20 ghouls, 6 bases worth of spirits, & 2 skull catapults.

Punched out all the card components for the Aliens board game. I need to get some little ziplock bags to keep all the different tokens safe.

So after finishing up the Dread, I went on and did my second Rhino. These two were really fast and fun to do!

Played a game of Axis & Allies 1914 this afternoon/evening with some friends.
The game moves so slowly that in-between turns I managed to clean and assemble (from box to finished models) 10 AoS Marauder horsemen, an Exalted Drathbringer, & a Slaughterpriest for my AoS Slaves to Darkness army....

Priming up the Stormcast side of Soul Wars I reckon, would be good to get at least that done, maybe paint a few more Nighthaunts.

Hour 3 of an online Dark Heresy game.

It's a big combat. I've missed every shot and failed every test I've been called to make. And I rolled a 1 for initiative so I'm going after everyone.

I wish I was anywhere else...

Building another box of AoS Marauder Horsemen as I sit around wasting time waiting on an important UPS shipment that requires a signature.
I literally have 5 different things I want/need to do today, not here at home, & the closest I could narrow the delivery down to was "By 9pm"....

So, building more horsemen.

Blocking in the different colours on a Baal Predator before adding shade.

Writing prayers and incantations on purity seals. Hopefully finishing my Chaplain today. Possibly starting on the edge highlighting and weathering of my dread.

Played 2 games and half a game. Rest has to be finished tomorrow. Too sleepy.

Lesson learned. Need more daemons. I'm generating ridiculous number of depravity points.

Played BB 2020 today.
