That's gorgeous, Tyranid Horde! I'd say it seems likely you'll win to me!
Uhh, back on topic, practically finished my Not-Lelith pwning Not-Lucius diorama. Fixed up Lelith's hair giving it more depth and a few other things, might post photos tomorrow. I also began working on some Chaos Space Marines I've had lying around for ages. With them done, I'll have a ten-man squad. Thinking of beginning work on my Daemon Prince, too so if anyone at my club wants to play a Chaos Army (or "Havoc Brothers"), They can have more options and might be able to fill out a 2,000 point list eventually

Loosing at Middle Earth as my Mordor forces managed to blend those of Gondor, but that caused the game to end, which meant they had won on points.. Grrr

Pretty much finished my Chaos Marine squad so I finally have a ten-man squad of Chaos Marines (or Havoc Brothers for Grimdark Future) I have them, the Chaos Sorcerer in Terminator armour (which is still an amazing mini even though he's like twenty years old now) Fifteen cultists and twelve Traitor Guard finished, so enough to play a small game of Grimdark Future. Their fluff is they capture enemies (especially enemy Marines) and torture them until they break their enemy into joining them and they flay off the flesh of their broken victims and wear their flesh as leather dick towels and make it into belts etc. So one Chaos Marine might be fighting alongside another who has his skinned flesh hanging off his pauldron lol. Haven't thought of a name for them yet. They also paint their armour with the blood of their enemies.
I got a bit stuck on what to do next even though I promised myself to begin painting my daemon prince. But I decided to finish assembling my Morrigan from Dark Siders statue so I might begin painting her and my Samus Aran statue while I'm going through my backlog.

To me, there is just something enormously fun about a palace coup. Whether that palace is in Valois France, Caligula's Rome, Gondor, or the Grim dark grim darkness of the grim dark future (did I mention it was grim and dark?) this palace fills the bill.
I'm hoping to run a 40k universe fight in it next weekend. Looks to be fun!

Yeah, I can understand that misunderstanding.
Had the game night again tonight. We played Grimdark Future: Firefight 2v2. I played as the not Harlequins, my young ally, not Chaos Marines, and the other side was not Dark Angels and not Custodes. Was fun, we couldn't finish on time, but I took photos to set up the next week. Managed to take out a Dark Angel marine with my Harlequin with only a CCW due to some very lucky rolls.

the only real reason to have two is because you do not yet have three
need to did my rats up and get them on the table again
anyway, today I is mostly supervising a 3d printer making some buildings for Adeptus Titanicus, game at the weekend and it occured to be I only have a few small Battletech buildings which will do for knights but are hardly up to the job for titans

Honestly I'll never use 3. There's just too many things in the Skaven book I like running to sacrifice enough pts for a 3rd furnace. Maaaybe 2 on occasion. Definitely not 3.
And the only reason I have the 2nd is because a local shop had one of the old Start Collecting Pestilence boxes marked way way down. It was cheaper to buy that & convert the rats into censor bearers than a get a 2nd Plague Claw + the actual censor bearer box.

More progress on my Morrigan Aensland and Samus Aran in Zero Suit statuettes. Samus, especially, painted her hair with a yellow from the fancy acrylic range by Scale 75 as I bought a big box set when it was on special on gap games. It's easily the best yellow I've used so far, covered so nicely. For the base colour on her suit, I used a Lite Ultramarine Blue from the box, it's a very nice looking blue, but it's taking quite a few layers to cover properly, but it's a dark colour over a light grey primer so that makes it a bit harder. The blue is perfect for her suit, though.

Waiting on Amazon to deliver these guys
https://www.amazon.com/Humans-Aliens-Monster-Action-Playset/dp/B0747QDHGV/ref=sr_1_1?crid=AKSO4I3VL50U&keywords=humans+vs+aliens+space+monster+action+figure+toy+playset&qid=1686222469&sprefix=humans+vs+aliens+action%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1
For 25 bucks, they are about a quarter a piece, or fifty cents if you want to throw the humans away, and just use the aliens as 40k warp entities. That's my primary purpose, but I'll put quick paint jobs on the humans and use them all in a horror game too.
Not the greatest figures in the world, but some neat sculpts for all that. Some are quite fitting for the 40k battlefield.

I managed to fight the urge to begin another assembling spree and started old miniatures that have been sitting around for ages. Another Hero Forge version of Attelus I intend to use for a diorama I plan on starting and a Hero Forge mini of Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv from my long-term sequel Rogue Trader campaign that's set 100 years after the "current" big arc. I also worked a lot more on my Zero Suit Samus Aran, and I'm finally very happy with her now! I fixed up my Autarch Raloth Arlyandor and his scenic base a bit. Need to give him a coat of matt varnish to protect him from further damage in the future. I also clipped off his flag and turned it so it looks like it was blowing back behind him as he lands on the ground. Might post pics later!
Edit: Oh! And I began working on a flier for my tabletop gaming club!

-Threw my laptop out of my house(not literally, figuratively) to do a tech-detox (still using a laptop at family adress for online stuff as I'm doing now, the laptop at home was internet-bricked to begin with, and I have no internet at home anyway) because it was screwing with my energy levels (went to bed too late etc a few times and during summer light at 5 in the morning that is not a good thing).. I'll live without tech till september then get back to work (documentaries etc) So that also means photographing warhammer figurines will be a bit riskier considering I cannot see the photos before I'm @ family adress laptop.
-My wood-elf knights (kitbash from vampire knights) are starting to look smashing, only need to still do bases and some details like swords and trinkets. Even managed to make the big dragon flag look epic (made the dragon look like my actual dragon figurine (dark elf black dragon, which I made into a green dragon)
-Still waiting for my (new) order of a rotation-platform for making rotational movies of my (bigger) mini's. (a store ordered it for me because I don't ever use internet for shopping, but the order has been postponed twice now.. sigh)
-Finding out that when you accidentially hit a white drapery on a mini with a color and try to fix it with apocethary white you end up with some awesome effects which I decided to leave on the bit.

A bit more progress on my diorama of Attelus and Adelana vs Cultists. My cardboard base is pretty much ready for more. My dad suggested I coat it in epoxy resin (which is called "West System" to him, as that's the brand). I'd like to do that soon, but I must wait for the Imperialis Ruins I bought from eBay (which I'm going to be waiting for a good while as I bought them from a guy in Germany, the Cultist proxies even longer as I ordered them on Etsy from a company in Ukraine). I would like to use some of my bountiful Deadzone Mantic terrain (as it is in the photos below, but that's just a placeholder), but I have too few classic 40k things in the diorama as Attelus and Adelana are Hero Forge minis, and the Cultists are proxies from Etsy (again, the GW ones are placeholders). I've also made it a bit more complicated. For Attelus, Adelana and the surviving Cultists, I plan on having holes for their bases and the bases magnetised on the diorama. We plan on using a circle cutter to cut holes for them, which is one of the reasons Dad suggested covering it in epoxy resin to harden the cardboard so it doesn't get torn apart by the drill in the process.
Don't know if using cardboard as a base was a good idea, but it's too late now. Might begin a thread blogging my progress when I get the stuff I need. Just gotta be patient lol

I did a bit, primed my Maugan Ra, Solitaire and Fuegan proxies and a Howling Banshee Exarch. I was so happy to have the awesome Maugan Ra, but of course, it fell off its tactical rock and on the concrete step outside of my hobby room when I was taking it inside after priming. The head exploded off and landed somewhere, either under my house or lost among the debris nearby. I looked and looked, but it was pointless, so I gave up.
I got dinner, and that helped me get over it. Then, I began painting my Solitaire, and he's a frigging joy to paint.

A lot of photo setup depends on how much you want to spend and how much space you've got to setup and often leave it up. Lightboxes are popular because the commercial ones pop up and pop down very fast. So you can just get the whole thing up and used and down and packed away pretty quickly.
More lights, backdrops and more tend to take more room up and are slower to setup. Ideal if you can take your time/have space to leave it up.
Heck a lot of my photos just end up being snapshots with two boxes pushed together (one base one backdrop) and then firing the flash at the wall.

No one came to the TT Skirmish game night, so I had a game against myself. It was a Grimdark Future: Firefight "king of the hill" game of who has the most units in my big white Mantic Deadzone building. "Harlequins" vs "Chaos Marines", and despite being outnumbered almost three to one, the "Harlequins" won, with none of them dying. It was fun. I used the measurement rules meant for the 4x4 board on a 25x25 board (One Page Rules have "Kitchen Table" rules that effectively halve all measurements), and it worked well despite the smaller size. It was fast and furious; it's much more fun than using the "Kitchen Table" rules which just slowed the game to a crawl in my experience.
When I got back home, I painted a test miniature of my new Corsairs, and I'm pretty happy with him. I was going to paint them like my first squad, but the colour scheme, while I think it looks good, it makes me think too much of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's similar, but I plan on replacing the red. I'm trying out black, so I'll see how that works out.

In the midst of some rather agonizing real-world-work, I'm taking breaks using the quite excellent tables crafted by Zinderneuf, along with my contribution of the court ball, https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/493584.page#11536744 and having some stress relieving fun with my Apprentice Navigator Ulysses Selakhos Kubernetes, flying through the Helstrom Sector.
Presently, he's landed on the hiveworld or Sulcoit, where he got into a who-can-be-the-most-snotty-to-who match with Squire Hewalt Hezal. The bureaucrat wanted to shake him down for money. Ulysses lost his temper and challenged the fop to a duel. They agreed to go settle it quietly, but it turned out that the squire was only trying to get him into a quiet place, where he could have his guards murder the Navigator.
However, Ulysses, though rather average in other respects, is an excellent hand with a blade, and was gifted with two power axes of surpassing quality by a local Squat Hearthlord (a friend and ally of his father). So much so that each counts as a following fire weapon (if he kills a combatant with the first blow, he can keep attacking as long as there are other targets adjacent to him).
Still, four average human guards with ordinary swords against one very skilled combatant with a couple of very excellent weapons is no sure thing, and though he won, it was close-run.
The Navigator then forced the bureaucrat to provide him with political leverage and they essentially entered into a partnership of' "you can trust me as long as you don't turn your back..."
All worked out quite nicely from these tables. I think it has been a really nice story telling stress reliever.
There are times when even a half hour of jeet-kun-do doesn't get it. Today, I just needed to delve into some sci-fantasy fun!

Finally began work on a new SM project - an armored column of Predators.
In order to get the most hulls in the list I had to give in & make it a BA force.
So, atm, 1,170 pts worth of Predators are sitting on the end of my hobby desk:
Baal x3
Annihilator x3
Destructor x3
Other than a SM character & a Rhino, I'm not sure what I'm going to fill the remaining 830pts with to bring it up to 2k
I was hoping that the Deimos pattern Predator would be included in the FW HH Legends. You know, since it has a nice new plastic kit & all.... But nope.
So now I'm hoping it'll have gotten mixed into the rest of the Legends stuff.
I'm also pondering converting a Stalkers guns to be turret mounted so the tank looks more like a Predator variant than an AA themed Rhino.
But I've got 7 more tanks to build before I need to worry about this.

printing some wall sections for Necromunda, also for a Zone Mortalis Heresy game coming up.
the GW kit is good and actually not a bad price all things considered, however it lacks enough actual walls, a box of just the wall sprue with the long wall and the short wall, just that sprue, in multiple, say four of, in a box would be wonderful
since thats not possible.. 3d printing it is

I did a bit today. Made more progress on my Corsair Felarch, blades dude and the shuriken cannon dude and began basing them. Also painted gold on the trim of one of my Chaos Marines. Man, when painting the god trim on Chaos dudes, it seems to stretch on forever. I should've been working on them instead of my Corsairs so the kids can have more options for them.
I also primed my diorama base black too!

Yesterday marked the start of a new project a friend has asked me to do:
I knocked out building the head first, as we're waiting on a replacement part for the torso(received duplicate left upper torsos instead of a left and a right).
The head is, of course, magnetized to allow for the crew to be visible:

I did quite a bit more painting today, and I am having fun with it. Began painting a Crusader mini proxy I bought from Etsy. I've almost finished my Chaos Sorcerer dude from the Kill Team and got a bit of the way through the leader. For me, Chaos has always been the most "edgy" faction for "edgy boys" The kid who introduced me to 40k was a very edgy boy, a VERY edgy boy, and he loved Chaos, most especially Black Legion. For this Chaos faction, I've tried to truly embrace my "edgy boy" side, as mentioned their fluff a while back of them always trying to capture and break other Astartes loyalists or not and torture them and flay them into joining them; then when they manage to break the victim, they use their skin to make their leathers. So I decided to make this guy have his head and face skinless. I winged it, and it didn't turn out too bad.
I decided was a former Word Bearer who was "converted" after a long while.
Almost finished my Corsair swordsman too!
Him having white eyebrows on such pale skin is kinda weird lol

Taking a short break of my Leviathan models to paint some Christmas models for our now annual Christmas big game! We usually play a big scenario during Christmas with around 6 players, and we have some custom models and units in play at that time (Santa Claus and his army, plus Christmas themed daemons that join the fun).
Currently working on the new Khorne addition: a unit of Bloodcrushers (3 models). Green and gold Juggernaut with a red Bloodletter on top, these are gonna be some jolly fellow!
We only had Khorne models so far, and were missing the Bloodcrushers so this should complete the Khorne side. This year we gonna introduce Nurgle in the mix so we gonna have them next on the plate to work on!

Built my Haruspex.
Really fun kit to build, and for those inclined super easy to magnetise should want it dual build as an Exocrine. Heck, given the head is main thing you need to swap, old fashioned pinning might even suffice.
Ideally you should swap the big claws for the small stabbers, but I reckon most opponents would mostly be concerned with the beasty’s main weapon as the identifier.
Tomorrow, probably the Tyrannofex. I built one years ago when they first released, and I remember the spindly legs being a sod. But fairly sure I buggered it up somewhere.

Post by: Overread
The worst one on legs is the Toxicrine kit because they have these little inserts that look almost the same but only fit one leg setup for either variation. Woe betide you if you pick the wrong ones!
But yeah I want to get an Exocrine kit or three this year!

Trio of Haruspex is my ideal.
Eat the woooooorld. Let them know it’s breakfast time! Eat the woooooooorld! Let them know it’s breakfast time!
Also top tip for building the Haruspex? The instruction tells porky pies about the side vents, as it’s got the part numbers mixed up. Those listed for the left (front on) go on the right, and vice versa.

Finished a game with my friend of The Angaran Chronicles: The Skirmish Game (My own TT Skirmish game), And we had a blast. I played as Anargrin's team, which consists of five highly elite operatives, and my friend played as Jaroaite Extremists, which came to a warband of twenty-two total, so a side using mostly chaff units. It was close, but I managed to get the win by controlling more objectives. Although, I lost Anargrin and Raleas. But Raleas got charged by a bunch of cultists and managed to fight back exceedingly well, holding out for two rounds and killing a cultist. In fact, her holding well won me the game as it prevented those cultists from moving on to secure another objective. She also sniped the priest leader, so she easily got MVP. Anargrin dying was...because of some terrible luck.
My cultists and ruined walls arrived for my diorama so I've been working on that a bit too.

58 hand written pages into my 40k novel. I doubt it will ever be published, but I'm having lot of fun.
Working Title: The Helstrom Navigator
A young, apprentice Navigator, Ulysses Selakhos Kubernetes is on a trade delegation from his father's House to the Hearthlord of Anoumbla, a Squat world (yes, it is very much 1st ed). He is along as the only noble member of the House attending the delegation, and is under strict orders from his Father to keep his mouth shut and learn.
All goes well until an assassin tries to take him out, and kills the senior member of the delegation instead. The remaining delegates, not wanting to lose theirlord's firstborn (and their heads), pack him aboard a warp-capable cutter, and sending home in secret.
He finds out soon enough he's being tracked.

Built the limited Primaris Captain (w/Fist) and limited Primaris Lt (Sword'n'Board), along with the Primaris Techmarine and Gravis Techmarine. Plus a unit of 3 Aggressors. Now I have to go through my big box'o'Primaris Marines and figure out how many Aggressors I have left to build. I think it's just 3, but it could be 6.
Did you have any issues with the head and where it joins the body? I've built two, and in both cases it didn't really slot in well. I had to put a good amount of glue and hold it for a few minutes to make sure it wouldn't move.
Mad Doc Grotsnik wrote:Tomorrow, probably the Tyrannofex. I built one years ago when they first released, and I remember the spindly legs being a sod. But fairly sure I buggered it up somewhere.
I've built 3 so far, plus two Tervigons. The legs that go in the middle are always the most annoying. They only just fit insides the confines of the base, and if you just glue them and hope for the best they'll lean or sag and end up at odd angles.

I finished off a Power Armour Raider for Fallout. Did a small conversion on it (didn't like the standard head, so got this 'diving helmet' bit from Zinge Industries). I really tried to make the armour look personalised and just very old and weathered, so used a few different decals and did some free-handed motifs.
More pics under the Spoiler tag. I used the original head from the above model with the 'sole survivor' miniature from the starter set, was trying to do a vault dweller-gone-bad type Raider gang.

I practically finished a mini of a character whose design was obviously inspired by the bouncer chick out the front of the Mox's club in Cyberpunk 2077 (or it could've been the other way around). She's very fun to paint and was excellent practice for light skin. I ordered her and another from Etsy ages back. I also fixed up the face of my older version of Anargrin (the one with the pistol rather than the sword, if anyone remembers). His face looked a little off for ages, and he seems much better now, so much so now I'm not sure which version I like best, lol.
Edit: Here he is...

Fixed up my Custodian sword dude's face up a bit and began painting the face of my Farseer proxy but she fell off the paint handle and broke, so had to fix her up yet again (luckily I found it easy to find her broken bits) I also found the sword arm of my earlier mentioned Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv Hero Forge mini that I knocked off my desk because I hand my magnifying glasses on and couldn't see him when I reached for something, that was like a week ago. Of course, the arm and sword flew a good metre and a half away in a direction I'd have never guessed, but it made me pretty happy to finally find it!

....B) reminding me to make new, better flight stands for my (die cast) A-10s.

Despite being horribly, incredibly tired, I made myself paint as it's a good way to keep myself awake (as if I go to sleep too early, I wake up around midnight and can't sleep again for hours, it suuucks). I worked on a model which, quite frankly, seems cursed. A Farseer proxy I bought on Etsy months back that's obviously based on Farseer Macha from Dawn of War 3. I keep dropping her and having to reglue her. She's also made of resin and is very damned fragile. Because of this, I gave up trying to do anything with her until recently. I managed to almost finish her, and I'm pretty happy with her. I accidentally made her look like Emma Watson; whether that's because of me or the sculpt, I'm not sure. I would post photos, but if I am too tired, I might later.

My friend came over, and we played another game of The Angaran Chronicles: The Skirmish Game. Playing a scenario I made of the cultists of Jaroai summoning a Jaroai as Anargrin and his team desperately try to stop it (which was the scenario my BatRep was based on). I set up the map, and I played Anargrin (the dude in the blue shirt) and his merry five-man band of misfits, my friend, the cultists (and his daughter too, but she was only seven and lost interest quite quickly and wandered off). We had fun, but the way I placed the terrain left me at a huge disadvantage; I also lost the deployment roll, which prevented me from having Emilia transform into a werewolf before the game (so she has to use a turn to transform) and stopping Anargrin to go into infiltration mode. It's been a bit of a slog. I already lost my sniper, Raleas. We only managed to finish two rounds, so he's going to come over another day. I have four rounds to kill the summoners, then the Jaroai is released and there's a fifth extra round so the attackers can either run or try to kill it.
Here's a few photos.

Began painting that earlier mentioned Inquisitor Azakir mini and enjoying it. I'm quite happy with the edge highlights on his bodyglove and skin, but his eyes need a little more work. Finally managed to finish a game of my TT Skirmish game, The Angaran Chronicles: The Skirmish Game, that I began with my friend a couple of weeks ago. The Jaroai Summoning Ritual scenario I did in my first and so far only BatRep I posted here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/809375.page.
I lost by a very small margin, but we had a ton of fun. The Jaroai was summoned, and despite the best efforts of my remaining characters and the mercenary gangers who switched sides at the sight of the horrid eldritch abomination, it survived the fifth extra round. So yeah.
Then I began base painting two Chaos Marines.

Finally, after a long time finding a collecting all the models I wanted, I have completed my Frostgrave Warband!
Servac the Blue Wizard and his crew ready to steal stuff and rob tombs! Models are a mix of Official Frostgrave minis, Bones models, old GW Brettonians, Dungeons and Doggos as well as an Oathmark Dwarf.
Now to continue on another Warband....
Oh, also 1000th post!

They look great, Commodus! And congrats on the 1000th post.
Anyway, back on topic, finally, we got the drill press and drilled the holes for the bases of Attelus Kaltos and Adelana Helgen's from Secret War bases into my diorama base! Something we've meant to do for a month? A long while now. Then glued the magnets in the holes and on the bases of Attelus and Adelana, and it turned out great!
I did a few other things which I will elaborate more on in my blog.
I then did a bit more work on my Chaos Marines, which wasn't as fun, lol.

Almost finished painting my Baharroth proxy, and I began painting a...police chick? And a pirate chick mini which are both metal and both may or may not be Reaper miniatures. Can't remember. I'm painting the police chick as a vampire air hostess, as I'm planning on using her as a mini to represent a character that need to be protected for a scenario that's an escort mission for Anargrin's team to protect her, a newly sired innocent vampire from a horde of Jaroaite extremists trying to kill her.

Began assembling an Inquisitor lady proxy I bought from Etsy ages ago. She's one of the minis that's been sitting around assembled and primed for months. I decided to paint her as Inquisitor Jelcine Enandra from Secret War even though she wields a plasma pistol and a power fist, and the lady Inquisitor has a bolter and a cane of sorts. The armour is probably a bit too elaborate for her, and no Ordo Hereticus Hat! But oh well, it'll be nice to have a mini of her, and she could lead a Grimdark Future: Firefight team in the near future. In all honesty, she's playing a much larger role in Secret War: The Annihilation Plague than in Secret War and Secret War: Upon Blood Sands, and she's becoming one of my favourite characters to write.

Today my hobby activity is sadly throwing away a bunch of half-finished and unassembled models as I try and slim down in preparation for my house move.
RIP, King Ghidorah Heldrake that I painstakingly spent ages sculping cables for, only for the project to take so long that Death Guard lost the ability to take Heldrakes in the meantime
RIP, trio of Greater Blight Drones that I modelled to look like Octabrains after seeing the Duke Nukem Forever trailer. I will probably recreate you at some point
RIP, recast Mk2B Land Raider whose sides never quite fit right
RIP, 3D printed Imperator head that warped a bit and severely needed gapfilling, but taught me how to use colourshift paints through an airbrush & use masking fluid to make metallic trim not make me want to tear my hair out
I will probably attempt to recreate some or all of these in the future, perhaps using 3D printing, but the originals are consigned to the trash. I leave them here to mark their passing

We're celebrating Labor Day with a big multi-player Tau vs Imperial game.
Right now it's 2v2, 1500 pts per person.
Edit:
So it ended up being 3v2 (3 Imperial vs 2 Tau), 3k pts total per side. The Guard + Knights attacking the Tau (though the Tau saw it coming & got 1st turn).
Many models died on both sides. The Imperials were tabled. The Tau won on VP.
Oh, and much food & drink were consumed with a good time being had by all. Even by the Knight player who after getting wiped out top of 3 was consigned to Grill & score keeping duties.

With my Tau out of storage & put back into successful fighting form, my attention now turns to my Eldar....
Inventory:
Hmm.
36 Rangers (why do I own 36 vs 35 or maybe 40?? Was this intentional on my end?)
30 Fire Dragons (with Exarchs)
15 vintage Wraithguard
3 vintage Wraithlords - no heavy weapons
2 Farseers
3 warlock/spirit Seers
3 Wave Serpents (star cannons + shuriken cannon) - missing cockpit canopies
1 Falcon (Bright Lance & Pulse Laser) - missing cockpit canopies
9 Vypers - all missing their gunner, seat, & heavy weapon, 6 missing cockpit canopies - not terribly pleased to see that in 10e Vypers are solo units. So only 3/9 will see play at any given time. :(
2 Avatars (1 OG metal, the other FW with spear)
1 vintage War Walker - missing weapons
3 Characters (Eldrad, Assuraman, & Fuegan)
a small collection of loose metal heavy weapons (not nearly enough to equip all the Vypers/ WL, & Walker, let alone optimally....
and a handfull of misc bitz & a few random Guardians
Oh, and an Armorcast Phantom Titan.
Definitely not the current Meta units....
All in all though? Not in too bad of shape repair-wise.
I need:
10x cockpit canopies (4 at the minimum)
11x heavy weapons (5 minimum)
x9 Vyper Gunners (3 minimum)
x9 Vyper gunner seats/weapons mounts - these I'm thinking will be the hard part. Fortunately I only need 3 at the minimum.
The only things I think I'll add are:
x3 wave serpents - this will allow me to have all my Dragons & all my WG mounted. It'll also take care of supplying all the heavy weapons I need.
x1 Autarch Wayleaper - I like the model & his rules.

With the arrival of the new editions of Grimdark Future and Grimdark Future: Firefight (3.0). I've been updating my lists to coincide with all the points changes, equipment options, etc. Psychic powers have been changed drastically, and I think I've wrapped my head around the new system. I didn't mind the old one. It was simple and easy to understand, although it seemed a bit too rare for psychic powers to work, even the lower-level ones. I also got our old printer working, which prints double-sided without turning the pages over, which my dumb self can't wrap my head around. We thought our new, expensive, fancy inkjet printer would allow for native double-sided printing, but nooo. I used it to print out the sheets for the newly edited teams and the Grimdark Future: Firefight advanced rule book for 3.0, so now we have an easy reference for the game rules. Finally! Automatically Appended Next Post: Painted an old push-fit ork boy I've had for years (and I have no idea how I got it) to fight alongside my Kommandoes in Grimdark Future: Firefight. Quite happy with how he turned out and began basing Jain Zar.

Adrassil can I ask is it much of a change to the rule format itself generally? I saw that V3 has been released but haven't yet looked, as I've not long got into the game!
Today in the hobby I have been: Putting final steps to a unit of ASOIAF Lannister guard, and painting some Epic Eldar Falcons and Guardians (courtesy of Vanguard Miniatures)
124366
Post by: Adrassil
Yeah, all goods, Pacific. Nah, the game is pretty much the same in its fundamentals. It's mostly a whole lot of changes to things like cover (which now adds +1 to defence instead of -1 to the shooter's attack) and a whole lot of special rules such as Furious, which now doubles the attack for the attacker when they charge on a 6 instead of them just getting +1 to their attacks when charging. That and my earlier mentioned change to psychic/magic powers.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, now there's a 3.1, which seems to have been to clarify things with the rules, etc.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
I finished both my Jain Zar and Ork Boy today. Now, I've taken the plunge and begun painting my Chaos Terminator Lord and Daemon Prince, despite how much I didn't enjoy painting my Chaos Marines. I began with painting their gold trims, and while the Terminator took as much time as I thought, the Daemon Prince was much quicker; he might've been much bigger but had a lot less trim. So, with the hard part passed, the rest won't be a breeze, but it'll be less annoying lol
