They do, but we've just been using units, ignoring certain rules about certain things that have to be taken with each. My assumption has always been it's just these 2 units going at each other on the table top more than anything else.

Well, considering attack bikes are bikes, and can move 24", then move 12" and fire with a 24" range, we will give the Hydra 1 round of shooting.

The Vendetta is a skimmer, not a flyer. In Apocalypse, it has a special rule that allows it to choose between being a skimmer and a flyer, but in regular 40k? You can punch it out in close combat the same as you could punch out a Falcon or Hammerhead.
