We're heading home for Christmas so I'll keep my eyes open.

Kyoto Secunda wants to "go thrifting" because "everything is so expensive there"

Any excuse to thrift is a good one!

Don't forget to check out Ollies while you are at it. They sometimes have really great clearance toys too.

OH here's a weird one from a 3d printing shop on Amazon. A collapsing dice tower.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW1BYRWV/
https://www.amazon.com/Hautico-Collapsing-Terrain-Miniatures-Paintable/dp/B0CW1BDK3T

Reviewers say it actually works.

The stand alone version is out of stock but you can still get it with some fantasy buildings.

I'm curious how long that will hold tension before the parts just grind each other smooth and the tower stops locking open.

Today’s Ross find… the crab suit sub from Avatar. It will be a salvage ship in my Starwars tpg game.

We can only hope that Avatar 3: This Avatar is on Fire will bring us similar toys for the discount aisle.

That's the 4" action figure size ship right? That's a fantastic find. I bought two at about that price when Amazon was closing them out and I thought they were gone forever. Might buy another. It's a great option for toybashing in 28mm.

In addition to being great wargaming conversion fodder it'd be a fantastic addition to the collection of anyone who likes 3.75-4" (1/18) action figures, especially Mecha. It's the sort of action figure vehicle I wished for as a kid.

Well the affordability crisis is definitely hitting hard, the Crimson Firebird price has almost doubled to $19 on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Crimson-Firehawk-17-Inch-Preschool/dp/B0BDHSJP5G/

How can anyone afford this hobby?

Yeah, its nice and large and looks very well suited. I may go by Ross again Friday to see if I can find another. I went looking for the AMP suits, but no joy.

That Hoth cannon is really cool, thanks.

As for me, it's Christmas Village season which means lots of cheap fantasy/European style terrain!

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=christmas+village

For me the big find is 48 (!!) MDF houses for $47 dollars.

https://www.amazon.com/AceOrbit-Christmas-Village-Collection-Farmhouse/dp/B0FG28XB18

They're bare bones but you could build them, spray paint them and have a village ready to go in a few hours. They're small, but buildings are always undersized for war games. Suitable for The Olde Worlde, World War II, and through the clever application of a few skulls, the grim darkness of the far future.

And some similar sets

https://www.amazon.com/Mokof-Pcs-Christmas-Village-Set/dp/B0FS5X9FCV/

Over at the US crafts store Michaels we find...

https://www.michaels.com/search?q=christmas%20village

LOTS of stuff HALF OFF or more.

From painted resin buildings...

https://www.michaels.com/product/lemax-caddington-village-st-luke's-church-10788959

To higher end MDF (be warned these can cost as much as $5!! how does anyone afford this hobby?)

https://www.michaels.com/product/525-diy-villages-barn-led-wood-decor-by-make-market-10792732

Even a 10" castle

https://www.michaels.com/product/diy-led-wood-village-large-castle-by-make-market-10792034

There's tons of stuff, and if you have a want/need for this kind of terrain, now is the time to buy. They might be cheaper come Boxing Day but who know what will be left.

Amazon UK need to have a word with themselves.

£10 for the Hoth/ Luke one but £23 for the Vader version.

Well US Amazon wants $20 for the Hoth cannon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR6Y9YX7/

So clearly we need so set up some sort of US-UK trading house to profit from this.

I'm not sure what everyone's resale economy is like, but I'm seeing alot of porcelain christmas buildings at local resale shops, mostly for 3-10 bucks. I've got plenty so I'm only buying the occasional accessory (bridge, fences, etc) but they make great terrain intact with a bit of texture and paint...

No rhyme or reason to that inverted pricing!

I must admit, as much as I love Hoth stuff, being old and the proud possessor of the Kenner Star Wars Micro Hoth Ion Cannon sees me good at the 28mm scale.

My Long Haired Admiral (wife) is beginning to be less enthusiastic at some of the stuff my 53 year old backside has delivered to the house.
