Hello fellow hobby lovers. I've been reading through several threads for a while now, eapexially gitz mantis warriors. And came across this one.... I want to be some fresh blood, i will be hopefully able to post some pics of models that are surplus to requirements across my 8 matine armies. And hoping to be able to join in some swapping fun. Just gotta get my wife to get off the damn laptop and let me upload some pics. Hopefully be back on later with some offerings.
Astartes workshop.
Gitsplitta wrote:Would love to Howard, but I'm already several swaps behind & I can't in good conscience take on another one until I fulfill my existing obligations. Later perhaps?
No problem! With luck I'll probably do more in future.
I'd quite like to do yellow, maybe Marines Malevolent.
Hello again, i am back and offering up 3 swaps. 1 is close to completion and the other 2 arent. so here we go
1st, scout sgt of ultramarines.
2nd is a sgt with power fist from my crimson fists
3rd is an old librarian due to be stripped and re painted unknown colour.
Please Pm me with any interest, and to notify of swap.
thanks.
@Howard: You could always do a Tranquility pattern Mantis Warrior, they're golden yellow. Been waiting for someone with more painting skill to really show me up by doing a better job with one of those.
@Astartes: Welcome to the show! The swap is a really great way to not only pick up some cool minis but really push yourself as well. Because the figures you make don't have to fit in exactly with your existing army, you can really stretch your creative legs and go out of the box design and paint wise. Look forward to seeing some of your work.

I think the one's I've seen on your gallery look petty good IMO, don't think I would improve upon that.
Howard, it's really funny you think I'm productive - I'm entirely sporadic, random bursts of activity are the order of the day. But I have a couple of dudes ready to rock, so that's one for you, and another guy floating.
Here's a pic of graven's Weeping Angel all based up and ready to go. Had an issue with the grit so a bit more of his feet are hidden than I wanted, but looking at the bright side, I now know of a simple way to get small scale water effects! LOL
Giving the thread a bump I though I'd show my swap with inmygravenimage, something for a =][= retinue. So with pretty much no previous experience with greenstuff I took a stab with this...

Another guy floating, huh? what does he look like? I think I might want to try a swap.
Awesome! That's sone major gs-fu - that much cloth would scare heck out of me; I'm fretting over sleeves as it is. He'll go well with
=][= TP Kleenex is go!
Only thing is (ducks) I use d-style bases - I realise you asked and I forgot to mention this. If it's not practical to remove him though I can get a recessed d-style from Fenris games and slot him in, base and all. #excuseforshopping
Progress on gms stuff at my end:
=][= Heth Fenrix for Warone, for all his awesome fiction. If anyone can spare me a suitable necron bit (head, arm, whatever) for the base I'd be most appreciative. Me love you long time etc.
The sleeves and hood are easy. You flatted the GS out, then slice off a strip (to get a straight edge) and then lay it on the figure and poke it into shape around the front. What I find really hard is the back of the figure, where you have to shape the GS into folds and creases.
@ gits: it's one of the ones BLACKHAND sculpted up from a series of prototypes I made (one of which can be seen on the wip of Nisk Ran-Thawll in my blog). He is a talented chap indeedy.
I just pressed it out on a flat surface like a tile or plate. It doesn't seem very sticky so you can jut peel it up with the underside now being very smooth. It's not like milliput which is impossible to work in this way. Also I've primered the figure so I'll be painting soon. How would you like the basing done?
I have also completed my figure... which is what? A stenographer I think.

Oh dear, no you won't be able to remove him intact, he's firmly rooted onto the base, he's partly hollow as his 'legs' are a plastic tube around which the GS is formed, he's not solid GS.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Here he is!
All around views here so you can see the reverse...
I have a painted, magnetized base, OOP marine from the 1990s (I think). He is painted well, and based. I'll get pics up soon. Howard, do you have any of your marines you'd be willing to swap?
A little review of all the shiny gms goodness I got this year:
A post-Xmas present from the mighty Bash:
Festive, no?
My very first gms, from the king, Wm360:
Pride of purple in the cabinet. Great reference piece.
Something different. Knightley did me a mentor; I wasn't 100% on the weathering so toned it down some (no disrespect - and some guilt, for he's a far more accomplished painter than I)
A reminder of his outstanding work, untainted by me (well, except for the base)
A counts as Marines Errant special from the peerless endtransmission , the man who taught us to love oil stain weathering
And this bad boy from HowardATreesong, marking a move in to =][= for gms-ing:
In the process of moving into D-style base. Cos I'm awkward.
Long, long overdue Tek-Masta 'Stumpy' Gutwerkz for the very patient graven (like, I got his about 6 months ago )
You guys get the white background, black background will be on my blog. Had to force myself a bit to get it finished and I think it shows, the chipping on the back of the pad, the pad surround and the axe are a bit haphazard when it comes to the highlight meeting the chip. Tempted to re-do part of that, but only if I'm convinced I'll get it done in the next couple of days as I really want to get it off to graven
I'll probably re-do the goggles tonight though, the light blue takes up too much of the lens as is.
Wow - he's just ... Wow. So totally worth the wait, and a great addition to Da Mental Leejun of Dr. Morkwelito! I particularly like the use of the dread hand
Awesome apothecary solar. Do you plan painting him all white with a hint of yellow? Or yellow with a hint of white? Or perhaps checker pattern all of him? Either way he will be awesome I'm sure.
IceAngel wrote:Awesome apothecary solar. Do you plan painting him all white with a hint of yellow? Or yellow with a hint of white? Or perhaps checker pattern all of him? Either way he will be awesome I'm sure.
Intresting suggestions...I could quarter him as well. hummm

What do you prefer? Your the creative one!
SL
Well he would have to be mostly white, then we'll make his right shin guard, right jump pack engine, and right shoulder pad yellow. His left shin guard, left jump pack engine, and left shoulder pad checker pattern. His left shoulder pad should have the lamenter symbol in the center of the checker pattern.
Other suggestion, you paint him all white, checker his shoulder pads and narthecium and add some yellow trim. Then paint his jump pack yellow like all of your other marines so it looks a bit more standard equipment like.
I like both ideas. Then again I like all of your lamenters. You paint him up how ever you want him and I'll like him.
I've been keeping an eye on this thread for quite some time and now would like to throw my hat into the ring for anyone who would like to swap a marine with me.
For those who are interested this is an example of my marines
Two requests: Can you paint something on the staff so it looks "powered" and could serve to represent a power weapon? Can you put a subtle think on his left arm that could serve as a hand flamer. Not a real pistol... just something off the medikit on his arm that could be for cauterizing wounds or something & proxy as a flamer pistol?
Next up is Whale's marine, not as grandiose as the others due to a hurring great plasma cannon blocking everything, but I'll see what a lick of paint can do to spruce him up after some small adjustments to loose hanging plastic.
Normal are basically your stock standard marine
Feral are like space wolves, but with a more eagle theme
Paladin are, as the name suggests, more knight-like and pure
I finally got to slap some paint on Git's GMS, Pic taken after I put the wash on, so it looks a little damp (don't worry about the robe, I plan on bringing it up to a warm bone color)
I'll be starting yours very soon Knightly... in a week I'd guess. I need to have it ready so we can swap before Adepticon as I'll need your apoth by then.
Does anyone want assault marines? I have a ton of them that I dont want and would love to paint up for someone
15 of em
If people want one Id be willing to split them up, or if anyone wants to do a unit (or something else) for them all (or however many they need in a unit) Im game
I paint Crimson Fists (pics in gallery) Salamanders (pics on request) or a custom chapter (half silver half crimson). I can also paint them up in any scheme anyone wants
Also, I have 3 landspeeders I have yet to finish building or start painting so if anyone wants one or all of those bad boys lemme know
I am putting out the call to my fellow gms-ers. One of us is in need.
vent wrote:To say I've been burgled... :(
Mother Frakkers people... Mother frakkers suck... Big time... Got home on Wednesday night and found a window open. They'd pried it open and gotten inside. The good news is that the alarm did its job and went off pretty quick meaning they got out without too much stuff.
Now I can hear some of you asking, why is he putting this on his blog, while sad it's not exactly what you'd call painting news. Well the room they broke into was my painting room, and while the miniatures might be heroes and villains of various shapes, sizes, genders and universes; alas they fared poorly against the aggression of trespassers... I've now got minis in various stages of development, some finished, broken, some are snap jobs, but others have been... Attacked... Almost look they've been stomped on... One of the biggest kickers are my brushes. I get attached to brushes and take a lot of care with them, they've been scattered across the room, some snapped, all damaged in some way...
Now to anyone who has read my previous post regarding why we paint you'll know how I feel in regards to seeing a miniature destroyed. It is a mind numbing pain... More so than having my camera, compressor and airbrush stolen. To say this hurts your motivation to paint is an understatement... That is all. I hope to paint something, but truth be told I really don't feel like it...
This is just frakked up and I am unhappy... :(
Now I say we come to his side as a friend and supply hm with a fresh force of marines. I have one I've been trying to figure out what to do with, now I know. If folks Want to send to me I will get them to vent. I expect nothing in return except a return of his motivation.
Wip for vent. There are so many pins in this thing he could be mistaken for an arthritic 83-yr old.
Debating using a Sanguinary Wing as a shield on the combi-plasma arm - too much, or cool?
@graven: Really ferocious looking mini there... nice job man.
I finished the build for Knightley's assault marine. He wanted something with 2 CCWs & a backpack, so I cranked up another double chainsword marine (they just look so impressive). The aim of this pose was to catch him at that moment in time just before he leaps to the attack. One sword is up for defense and as an obvious attention getter, the other is somewhat "hidden" down low so his attacking stroke is harder to detect and counter. So the slight crouch and lean forward is specific to that instant just before he dives into action. Hope you guys (and especially Knightley) like it!
All done. Brother Taki, Chaplain of the Mantis Warriors.
Decided to do the edge highlights in green for the most part, and leave the inside of the wings in shades of grey. The wings, as with the axe are in "powered down" mode, thus are not at the full brightness of normal powered operation, as it's clear Taki is taking a moment to assess the situation and issue orders. The intense lights of my light box make the edge highlights look *really* green. IRL the effect is more subtle. It does turn up the volume of the green ever so slightly though, which is an effect I like quite a bit.
I'll be honest, wish I was keeping this one. Hope it meets with approval, especially from Gathering Storm.
I just use the "black gem technique". vent did a very nice tutorial on it. Look it up in his profile, I think it appears as an article. I'd just put the 'ard coat on before I took the pic, so the eyes will look even better once that's dry.
I’ve been clicking through the GMS since I first stumbled over Dakka, and in my efforts to paint, I can certainly afford to work on something for someone else! Motivation and all that.
So this would be my STILL un-named Chapter of Marines. I’ll post this chap as an example for the rest of ‘em. Maybe this will finally get me to name the flippin’ Chapter…
I'd say since that looks like a Harp on the standard for that marine, how about the Harps of Discord?
Also, if you need some fiction work on your marines, hit me up and I'll add a few to the Great Marine Swap Fiction Thread or do some freelance work for them.
Well.. I am not quite sure what I am doing here but I have a quite extensive bitbox and I guess I could whip up something and send it across the globe with ye old mail if someone says pwetty please.. I mean how many bucks can sending a small piece of plastic in a tiny cardboard box cost me? Anywhooo.. I will restrain myself to marine on ye olde foot or some kind of objective marker. ie my terminators and bikes (soon to be jetbikes) are mine, mine and only mine for my long unrealised dark angels army.
So, marine of whatever flavour or chapter, perhaps a tasty objective marker? I however reserve myself against my olde nemesis Yellow, the colour-that-must-not-be-painted. bone, beige, light brown.. no problem. But No YELLOW! *ahem*
Also, 'can I have a tactical marine' won't cut it. I want a good concept, something interesting. Perhaps a somewhat scenic and dynamic model, a little challange.
Why do I get the creeping feeling that any second now.. Alpharius will do the internet equivalent of a bodyslam and poke me relentlessly to make him an artscale alpha legionnaire...
This is some of my work for reference, My Alpha legion and Astral Claws projects. (Eldar displayed as painting reference only, no eldar minis avalible for trade/ gifting/ lighting on fire)
I usually would call myself a modeller first, (tragicly without much greenstuff skillz) painter sec.. no wait.. fluff-natzi first, painter sec.. and.. no .. wait.. Noone Expects the Swedish Inquisition!!! Our chief weapons are cheap furniture! International bikiniteams! a quite encompassing social security system and a suprisingly advanced and extensive weapons industry!
@ Gits - I'd be up for a trade as well! Just a heads up though, this is Chem, not CtC... having too Cutthroats that tend to frequent the same places is bound to get confusing!
@ Whalemusic - Just lemme know!
@WarOne - Oooh... I like that name. I'll file it away! I have no idea why this group has gone on so long without a name. I think it's partially because the scheme itself is very heavily influenced by my local pub and my drink of choice. Err... long story. But I definitely think you're on to something. I'm gonna buckle down and get my thinking cap on.
@STC - I've admired that beautiful Alpha Legion for a while now. I'm gonna have to shoot you a PM for sure.
IceAngel and BBLucifer already hit me up, so I'm gonna go have a chat with them... might even get painting tonight! This is definitely a fun way to sharpen up my paintbrush and get motivated!
@STC: Hey, maybe you could send over a marine to the neighbour next door? That wouldn't be pricy at all, and those marines looks excellent!
As for a challenge, what about trying to paint a "Sicarus" marine? It's my homebrew chapter, based on the assassins from the "Assassins Creed" games (you all probably know Ezio, Altair and so on...) and I, for one, enjoy converting marines to having cool hoods, hidden blades and freehanded "assassin" markings
Don't know what to paint in return, as I'm not really a good painter :( But, if you're interested, PM away!
And sorry if I'm supposed to sign up to this marine swap-thingy somewhere before posting?
I'm a bit new to dakka *cough*
Usually just post a pic or two of your more recent work so folks know what your talking about.
Love to see the new influx of folks. Some high quality stuff in there too! I'm going to have to add some more gms time to my painting schedule I thinks.
Arkgh! an avalanch of mail has decenteth upon my mailbox of personal messages.
A word of stern reproach for ye all athusiastic mailes though: I said I wanted a concept of what you wanted from me. Misunderstand me correctly here; all the ''would like to trade something with you, if you don't mind, etc etc'' PM's are nice. but I wanted a good concept with that. on a personal note I don't give a damn if you barely know wich end of the paintbrush the paint goes on to; your skill as painters and converters are not what matters. What I do however demand is a thought-through concept; this is something I will be quite picky with. Those of you who follow my Legion-and-friends blog here at dakka know I kan have a quite short attention-span and keep fluttering away towards new and shiny ideas All The Time. So hit me; write up a nice scene and mood and I'll see what I can do. of course adding such details as if you will use it in your army or just put it on a shelf would be helpful. and if you want it for your army it could be good to include such things as what rules you intend to use it for (special character count-as, devastator sergeant etc etc.) because of that whole WYSIWYG-rule. Also, a picture of your chapter colours would be prefferable,
@Hemmis92: Perhaps, I am not all that familiar with the Assassin's creed games since I don't own a console. However I want more meat on the bones (as explained above) before I commit to anything so write together a description and any relevant pictures as reference and we can talk.
Not in the same league as some folk out there, but still: Weeping Angel Sergeant for NjaltheWeatherman (not quite finished, but nearly) - still not got the hang of the lightbox, either
So true to my word, the first thing I did when I got off work was to dig through my boxes of boxes. I’ve been moving, so I wasn’t organized at all, but I knew I had those models hiding around somewhere.
Sure enough I found them! And so the modification began!
I’m working on Sternguard chaps for IceAngel and Battle Brother Lucifer, and I’m using the old metal Vet models with a bit of modifications. Simple stuff.
Or so I thought!
But I’ve had fun with it. I told myself I wasn’t allowed to touch Mass Effect 3 until I got these guys built and ready for priming, and I stuck to it! Too bad when I grabbed my primer the thing was completely empty. Bugger.
The Sternguard for BBLucifer. I had spent all this time working on getting that drum to fit right… to find out it was a right-hand attached to the gun and not the left. Argh. I fixed it though. So no worries.
And that’s the Sternguard for IceAngel. I know that bolter looks huge… that’s because that bolter is HUGE. I love that gun, it’s so ridiculous. But it comes stuck on the arm, and it’s all right-angled pointing straight up in the air! That just wouldn’t do. So I broke out the saw and went to town. Obviously, had to pin everything on the left arm, since that ludicrous bolter weighs as much as the model.
I also put a scope on it… because… yeah.
I never expect Marines to have to look down scopes, because all the scopes are tied into their suit’s targeting, so I always feel they’re more of a range-finder, target-assist thing. Hence why I put it off to the side.
So hopefully I’ll get them primed tonight! Gotta make a run for primer. Might even get some paint on em’!
The second guy's arm seems a little low, but I measured it a bunch of times before finally pinning it on. So I'm thinking it's the camera angle on that shot, because he looks alright in person.
Yeah, that bolter is just plain Silly. Capital S. I would complain about how insane it is, but that was the original gun that the two pack of Vets came with.
You gotta admit though, that's a kinda gun a Sternguard should have!
Naah... a sterguard with a storm bolter is wasted. Either a combiweapon or perhaps a special weapon if your configuration calls for it. You don't want to give up that special ammunition unless you're replacing it with something very useful given the role you have for the squad.
Well, if you call that a stormbolter. No reason that can't be loaded with fancy ammo. I look at it as a Stormbolter+, so I'd run it as the typical Sternguard bolter. That was my intention anyway.
Wow, I really like the way they look as a cohesive unit. It really works. At first I was a little sceptical of the two close combat weapons idea, but looking at them now two ccws really works!. Keep up the good work.
Those are looking sharp! That grey looks excellent, and I like the uniformity of them shoulderpads that brings it all together. Lorna's in for a treat.
Please ignore the painted arm, I cannibalized it from a project I never finished
and, like all my GMS builds for people, Ive fallen in love with him might borrow an idea from this GMS and make a twin (maybe with fist and bolter in opposite arms)
I posted these in my 40K Blog, but I figured I’d drop em’ here as well. Bit of paint on the two marines for BBLucifer and IceAngel. Sorry for the brightness/fuzz, that’s my painting lighting, not my picture lighting.
Looking good man, Im gonna start painting (and probably finish) your marine today
STC, Im starting to work on yours, getting bits together and the like. I had a few cool ideas that would require amazing sculpting, but Im bad at it so I need to think of something awesome but within my realm of ability
This looks a lot of fun some of the paint jobs ive seen are really nice o.o I'm curious are the models actually mailed to and from the participants or is it merely painting someone elses chapter etc.
I'll be tempted to do one of these I think when I get my own stuff sorted out
They are actually mailed out. I have around 30-35 marines painted by others specifically for me at this point, including 3 dreads, a drop pod, and a bike squad.
whalemusic360 wrote:They are actually mailed out. I have around 30-35 marines painted by others specifically for me at this point, including 3 dreads, a drop pod, and a bike squad.
Holy smokes WM!! That puts my collection to shame! How about a group pic!??

That's pretty awesome xD, I don't field a proper SM force, I only have my grey knights and some angry marines o.<'. I might need to think about that before I join in xD
Its all in good fun. Gives you a chance to mock up some cool stuff you might not field usually. Depends on what you and the other chap agree on.
I'm debating on scribbles on all the seals. I typically don't, but that one guy has some wicked huge posters hanging off his right pad... so I may have to make an exception to the rule.
So I finally broke out of my funk and snapped some pics of the GMS guys I was working on. So rather than ranting, here’s Veteran Sergeant Roreth for Battle Brother Lucifer, and Veteran Sergeant Tek’ar for IceAngel. Both crackshot Sternguard members.
Vet. Sgt. Roreth
Vet. Sgt. Tek’ar
Sorry I snapped the pics at work again. Against the lovely backdrop of dirty notes and my cruddy computer. But! The pics turned out pretty well, all zoomin’ in and stuff.
Hope you guys enjoy! Send me the PM’s about how to get em’ to you.
You're on my short list, but I have 3 very old trades to make good on first. After Adepticon I'll start working on those and then we can talk. Would love to add one of your marines to my Inquisitional Supplementary Squads.
Gitsplitta wrote:You're on my short list, but I have 3 very old trades to make good on first. After Adepticon I'll start working on those and then we can talk. Would love to add one of your marines to my Inquisitional Supplementary Squads.
Translation... My Inquisitional Supplementary Army. Come on folk , More tanks and dreads...
whalemusic360 wrote:I have 3 dreads in mine Which reminds me, need to base up 2 of them, and will get massive group photo. I think the official count was 39 models.
WoW... I meant to say WM's Inquisitional Supplementary Army. A group shot would be great!
Thanks, I'm starting to get the hang of this airbrush stuff, I had alot of difficulty holding the stencil, model, and airbrush at the same time, this will be solved soon by a clamp table thing ment for soldering so next time it should be much cleaner
STC and Knightly, I am working more on your guys today and I will hopefully have WIP shots up
Chem, I will be sending your guy soon
everyone else, two things
1. I found a primed but unpainted Sanguinary Guard model, would anyone want me to paint it up for them?
2. Would anyone like a *drumroll* ...... opp RT Thunder Marine with Glaive? I have three of them, and since they are mono-pose, I dont think I'll work all three into my army.
I'm bored with painting set blue and gold a the moment... could do with something fun/random/crazy to paint instead for the benefit of someone else. I can paint all the colours of the rainbow to a half-decent degree (although yellow and white take me A LONG time to get to said level of quality, lots of glazes! ).
Anyway, here are some examples of the work I can produce.
On a separate note, I can't help but be impressed that this glorious beast is nearly at 100 pages! Kudos indeed to WM360.
Oh, and lastly, a pic of the =][= acolyte I got from HowardATreesong:
I'm quite liking the =][= tradering - GIS? - if folk are interested. Lots of conversion potential...
Callidus I did for llamahead:
Older pic/fig, but you get the gist.
Given that Knightley has posted a WIP shot of my marine (who's looking great btw!) I thought it was only fair to post a WIP shot of his in return
He's a basic tactical marine who will, eventually, have an auspex in his other hand. I won't be sticking the other arm on until after he's been painted. I also need to finish constructing a rock under his left leg
^Oh, I'm so thieving that!
@BBL: Yup, no probs. I had a rummage in my bits box this morning and found the snipery-bits, so assuming I have the DE bits kicking about (or can thieve them from somewhere) I'll get one together for you. As for my end, there's a =][= female acolyte in WarOne's excellent fiction thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/362002.page so maybe something to represent that? I use d-style bases (warmachine style) so I can either send you one or leave her unbased if you'd rather. I'll do your vindicare on a standard gw.
Cant see the pic atm, school blocked But Ill let you know what I think when I get home Are there any stories that specifically detail her gear? If not, anything specific youd want?
Ok, Knightley, here is a wip for you
Im not sure where that arm is from, but I have two of them in a bag of bitz I got ages ago, and basically he's doing the Neo hand sign
And graven, I gathered some bits, and since I can't open the prologue of the GMS fluff story cntaining her, I kinda just imagined what a cool =][= aide would look like.
I didn't use a combi weapon because it looked way too big. I read the GK warrior acolyte blurb and it says armed with las pistol, so I went with that. If you cant use her with that weapon combo I can make something else, let me know
Oh, that makes sense. I assumed it was probably for dev weapons or something from way back.
Glad you like him, and though I didnt take a pic of him from behind, he has a CF backpack I need to add pouches and maybe some nades before I get to painting
Got this wonderful Sons of Medusa Apothecary by MissDee. Very cool interpretation. I see the tech marine back-pack as a "jaws-of-life" apparatus for getting injured marines out of wrecked vehicles and such.
Nice apoth, and will slide in nicely with the MWs I imagine.
@BBL: that looks great, love the head you've used (eldar?) and I'm with you on the las-pistol. Yours is currently a pile o' bits, as my parents are invading and so in clean-up overdrive. Incidentally, I was thinking about giving the Vindicare an Exitus pistol in the left hand, echoing the pose of the other GW vindicare - sound good?
I posted a few days ago! And i'd be up for a trade with some of you guys! Very talented people on here! and i'd love to add some of your models to my army
Just all of them together... I know how you've been cobbling that assassin *spit!* together which is amazing... the Fenrix figure is just cool and the Weeping Angel with the toup is just hilarious!
no pics yet, but Ive started painting up knightley's marine
graven, your model will be painted up after I finish Knightley's, and I'll probably post tons of wips to make sure she looks 'right' to you and possibly WarOne. (Not saying Im not gonna post up wips for you knightley, once I get a bit more progress they'll be here )
Howdy my GMS friends, I have once again made some of my own fluff, dealing with all the marines Ive been sent. for those of you who have sent me models, if I didn't mention a chapter please inform (or Im sure for some of you, re-inform) me of their chapter and name
I have M.K.'s scout pretty much finished, and I will hopefully have pics tomorrow or monday. I don't have it with me right now, otherwise I would take the picture right now.
glomscient wrote:I have M.K.'s scout pretty much finished, and I will hopefully have pics tomorrow or monday. I don't have it with me right now, otherwise I would take the picture right now.
Can't wait!
I'm hoping to get started on yours soon, I'm just waiting on the torso, legs and head
Ive gotten sidetracked on this vacation, tomorrow im helping put the finishing touches on the party Im helping to throw, friday is the sleep it off day ( ) then the weekend is do all the homework and essays my kind teachers assigned for the day after vacation.
however, if I manage to do all my work friday (or sat), Sunday I'll throw my hand into painting up your model Graven
So I mistakenly clicked on the blog link to take to to page one and noticed a horribly outdated master list. For everyone still involved, post up, or pm me, a quick one liner of your name, location, and usual paint scheme(s).
I know most of us are up for painting about anything, so no real need for that. I also know there are some still interested in trades, but that can't in good conscience take on any at the moment. Feel free to still post, but note that and I will color code your name.
Rubbishy late-night phone pic of Knightley's Weeping Angel Brother Equites:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Marginally better, coffee-fuelled pics:
I went for battle damaged; I've also tried some OSL glow on the jet pack. No sure how successful either were, tbh, but it's all a learning process, right?
Later,
graven.
^Thanks buddy.
Some work: BBL's finished Vindicare.
Not a great pic might try for another. But, happy with the fig. More/better pics in my blog.
And some wip-age on =][= for WarOne, using an old confrontation mini:
That's me up to date with gms I think, or at least will be once Heth Fenrix is done - though do correct me if I'm wrong, and pm your addresses accordingly! I'm still up for more gms-ing, in fact I have a guy I'm quite eager to paint up, perhaps as a page 100 special - the last of the Star Scorpions...
I'm in the process of making an Angel of Absolution, it's a practice mini that I'm painting before I attempt to paint my Golden Daemon Entries.
So rest assured it's going to be awesome....
Kewl. He's very gk, or at least how I build gk - me gusta. That loadout has quite an =][= feel to it. Pointing up arm, pointing down sword maybe? As for basing I use ds bases so either unbased, on a topper or I'll send you one for him. I go urban, normally. Gosh, I sound very demanding! Maybe a DW pad for the other shoulder as I'll probably count him as a =][=, or some tasty scrollwork maybe? Your choice really.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Last night's progress:
I'll be breaking out the dark green tonight for the mentor helm on the base and to start the Star Scorpion. You happy for him to be urban based btw?
Ok, very very early wip for graven
Im not really set on the boot color, I wanted to change it from black to break up the color, but I think the brown looks kinda weird suggestions? also, the only colors (minus the bleached bone) are the base layers
Bbl: that looks very tasty indeed. Lmk when you get your dude btw.
WarOne's =][= is done but I need to break out my camera for decent pics. 2nd stage green (Vgc sick green), 2nd stage white and first stage reds done on flying Pooo's Star Scorpion
wait, so does then maker of the marine PM you, or does the owner?
If maker then I'd be glad for the marine I'm making for glomscient to be added, when I've finished it (modeling wise)

Completely optional to join! PM me with any model you have or have sent!
I thank Knightley for his recents sends. I'll get some stories up on them once I get the time to plot out the finale to the Space Marine invasion of a Chaos fortress.
Here is a long overdue WIP pic of the Angel Of Absolution for Graven. He's still got a lot of work to go and sadly I haven't had too much time for lately, but I'm aiming to get him finished as soon as I can.
I'm not quite happy with how the bone armour turned out and it was a major pain to paint. I am really happy with the robe though. There's now brown on it IRL it just looks that way in the pic. IRL the robe has a more subtle effect, but I couldn't get a pic that would do it justice...
Hope you like it so far. Is there anything you want me to change Graven?
I rather like that fellow! Nice job, like the brown robe a lot. I now have a really great shelf in one of my cabinets of gms marines; he'll be in excellent company! I confess I've not made any progress on your Star Scorpion yet, sorry. Last night basically involved massive amounts of beer.
Ok Graven, here she is, finished. Well, I still need to finish the gem necklace and put writing on the purity seal, but other than that, finished. Let me know how I did, and if there is anything you see that you feel should be different
and just for fun, your vindy next to my (newest) inquisitor
Okay, having gotten settled down post-Adepticon, I would like to open myself up for abuse...err.. Marine swaps! Yeah! Pictures of my Adepticon-level painting are in my gallery and plog. I have bits lying around for SM, BA, BT, SW, and DA. Or, of course, custom chapters.
I can handle two GMS requests at a time, to maintain my sanity.
Here's a beautiful Imperial Fist (I think) that I traded with weety for. Nice job weets, going to be a find addition to my Inquisitional Supplemental Forces. Not exactly a by-the-book GMS trade bit it was the result of a trade *and* it's a marine... so I think it counts!
Right, I'm up for joining the party. Really impressed by the quality in this thread.
I'll do marines (I've got some Chapterhouse tru-scale models in need of some work) or something Inquisitorial (probably got time for one of each at the minute). I primarily play Blood Angels, Imperial Guard and Inquisition, but I'll happily paint something different to stretch myself (unique characters are always cool).
