I meant acting weirdly in general, not specificly dipping her feet in the pond. I didn't know it was eating, sleeping and dipping your feet in ponds being your survival instincts, the first two I may agree with to some extent, the third... Not so much.

Last time I saw a tau was when I was in my old company, slaughtering them for trespassing on Imperial grounds. Only 'presents' I got were the trophies I claimed.

Because you wrote it as a god-emote, and I countered by declaring it void. Even in the simplest forms of RP there are some simple rules to follow; god-emotes (forcefully causing someone else into a situation/state without permition, such as shooting someone), rather than writing 'Korvax shoots Riffzor in his legs' you'd write 'Korvax attempts to shoot Riffzor in his legs' or 'Korvax aims for Riffzors legs as he fires his bolt pistol'. Furthermore there's one we've already mentioned, meta-gaming, looking at my avatar and signature and attacking my character in this topic as I in RL is more drawn to Dark Eldar and Chaos (meta gaming = using information gained through OOC means)

And then there's power-emoting, which is to act outside the limits of your character (If you're an Eldar you may be quick and agile, but you can't lift up a rhino and throw it onto the side)

Then there's the common decency of adapting your language and to some extent your character to the surroundings, if you RP in a place where there are children, you wouldn't swear, describe sexual actions, go into too deep detail of torture or death, and so on.

Then generally it's frowned upon to go against the history/lore of the platform in which you roleplay, in this case Warhammer 40K (for example you can't be an orkish space marine or a Necron Etheral of the Tau)

And then there's something which I can't remember what it's called, but basically you don't claim to be the Emperor's brother or a chaos god (sort of a border-line between sticking to what makes sense in history as well as power-gaming)

Probably missed a bunch, but yeah, those 'rules' varies from place to place but generally are the same and are there for the comfort of all participants. Whilst it may be fun for you, Valance and Forden to accuse me of heresy (something I brought onto myself and I'm totally fine with) and to shoot at me (which I'm less amused by) and choose to do so without any indications of respect for me (by god-emoting it), it makes it less fun for me to be part of it at all, and as such, I declared your god-emote void.

I came in a few pages back and already sort of 'dodged the bullet' on that comment, getting stuck in on minor things and dragging out on it usually creates 'drama', it has already left its mark, mainly on Valance (and the bitter struggle between him and Valance continues as of it!). There is a difficulty in text-based RP games to remember details of appearence, and on a forum one may easily choose to glance at one's avatar to judge their characters' general appearence by it. Mine changes quite often, just a few days ago I used the icon of the Night Lords, now it's a Dark Eldar, tomorrow it may be a basset hound smoking a ciggar. I'm not going to suggest any complicated 'sulotions' to it as it's just light RP every once in a while.

As for the armies I use in RL... Well, there's no armies yet, except a Necron one, I've always just picked the models I wanted to paint at the point of purchase, leaving me with units from almost all 40K armies... Come to think of it, I think my Orks are actually field-able from the force organization chart. But nothing of that affects the 'RP' here, and if there's another thread for RP then it may be something else entierly, a new 'character' in there, also having nothing to do with my character or actions in this thread. If such were the case, I'd have 'proof' of Valance's heresy in another thread. >=) ... But I don't, so I'll just continue framing her. =P

Untrue. I actually got drawn to it by seeing the light RP already in play by Sledge and Valance in the first place. Then I just sort of stuck around, turning the chaotic mess it was into a proper chapter bound for glory!

4. Bigger guns will only get you so far- and stop asking for them! We ain't no stinking Tau!
5. Remember who your friends and enemies are.
6. Be prepared!

8. The cake is a lie.
9. No parties shall be held in the chapter fortress.
10. Thou shalt not patronize the prostitutes. This is important for those involved in the party, as you are no long er allowed in the fortress; you will take it to the hive. Where, inevitably...
