This WIP thread has now become my CSM blog. I know I have another blog going, but that is just for Dreads of Chaos and I thought it would look messy if I started adding CSM WIP here and there.
So far I have underway
- Havoc Squad
- Terminator with reaper cannon conversion
- Obliterator
- Raptor Squad
Enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------
After adding a daemon head to a heavy bolter,
I decided to start a havoc squad, and as the dread I already started was tzeetch the theme is thousand sons.
I have the thousand sons CSM heads, but as I'm loving all this converting business I came up with my own.
Any thought?

I see what you are saying, but when they are painted the blue with the trims gold, I think it willl work. I've got more parts like this that definitely look like night lords because they look like bat wings.

Post by: MechaEmperor7000
Try and even out the sides of the head-slabs. And make the top completely horizontal. that'd get rid of any Night Lord-esque feel =)

Post by: Valkyrie
Replace the Night Lord helmet with a Khorne Berzerker helmet and GS the gap between the "ears". You'll end up with a much better Thousand Son-esque helmet IMO.

Post by: Marius Xerxes
Failing that, I would try and see if anyone has any Thousand Son's boxes laying around. Since the heads are all seperate someone might be willing to trade for or let you buy them.

More WIP pics
This time of Havoc with autocannon
and rocket Havoc
So just need a lascannon chap.
33159
Post by: tipios
I've done a little bit more work on my autocannon.
added a blade and support bar.
Now I must get some shoulder pads sorted and convert 2 more heads.
Any other suggestions?

Post by: omnipotentclown
Similar to what you can typically find on top of bolters, a small stub on the top of the end of the autocannon barrel, opposite the blade, kinda like an aiming thing? Most 40k guns have something there is why i suggest it.

Great work.
If you have the $, take a look at some of Scribors Egyptian stuff.
Not sure about scale though.
33159
Post by: tipios
@omnipoteneclown - good point, I can do that.
@wolfshadow - thanks. I took a look at Scribors stuff, which is amazing. I'm gona try to sculpt something myself, if that fails then I might get those

Holy living feth, that missile launcher looks like it fires nukes. Good job!
I particularly like the chain linking the autocannon to it's owner, that's very cool. In fact, the autocannon is probably my favourite.

I am so stealing ideas from this thread. The H.Bolter with the daemon face looks awsome. Can't wait to see it all painted.
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks grim, steal away i like the dino your sculpting.
After looking for different ideas for how im going to do the helmets. I decided on an Anubis style head. It turns out that someone has already used this idea by converting Space Wolfs wolf heads. Today I tried to scult my own with green stuff but failed, so no pics, but I have not given up.
Any tips would be greatful

I have started a Raptor squad idea.
I've gone with termi heads cut back and fangs added. The jump packs are gona be Sanguinary Guard with gargoyle wings, MasterSlowPoke has done this for a night lord and it looks cool. The feet I want to be claws, like a bird of pray.
Here is test head 1

Post by: Mad4Minis
I used 2 of those heads to make a choas style thunder hammer:

Post by: Hyenajoe
Nice Job on your havocs, they remind me of your awesome terminator with reaper canon. You really have a skill for the metal tubes.
Where did you get the bat wings on this one? I have to grab some!
The converted termie helmet looks good, but I still fear it might be a little over-sized for Regular CSM bodies. However, I think that reducing the width of the head would solve this (he doesn't need ears, does he? )
I'm glad to see you've started a new thread!
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks Hyena, I really enjoy making the havoc guns, brass tube is the best
The bat wings are from warhammer skeleton heads. I carefully cut them of the skeleton helmet. There are a few different ones.
This is what the head looks like on, I am gona convert these wings with a bigger booster rocket for the aspiring champion, he needs claw fists too. Do you think it looks ok? Ears I didn't think of that but, yes I think it would give it the look I want, so may try that tonight.

It looks fine. I'm curious to see how you'll work with the claws!
tipios wrote: Ears I didn't think of that but, yes I think it would give it the look I want, so may try that tonight.
Pics please!!!
Thanks for the info, I'll try to get some skeletons heads (just in case).

Had a long day at work today, so didn't do much modelling.
I did try the ears, and here is the test ears 1 photo.
While I had the camera out, I thought I would take a couple of pics of the first model I tried converting, my obliterator. I really should finish him.
And a pic of my work area, which has become very messy

Ears are coming just fine IMO. It helps to breaks the GK look of the head. Good work.
Great GSing on the obliterator.(someone's been carfully watching Tinfoil's work, right?)
Funny to see how your working area looks like mine!
33159
Post by: tipios
@element - thanks man, your BA army is coming very nicely.
@Captain Shrike - thanks alot, do you have a WIP of how you posed your dread leg, I want to try something like that.
@Hyena - there's no work today so I can do more with the ears. I hadn't seem tinfoil's work until recently, although I really like what I have done, It would be done in a totally different way now. The next two will be more tendrily Automatically Appended Next Post: Amazingly all my parts orded for my raptors came at the same time, and with an unexpected day off the fun begins.
I've taken a photo of all the parts I'm gona use, and hope in a couple of hours I can give you something nearly complete. I will take WIP photos too, so if you like it you can have ago yourself.
I' gona try and change the leg postions, so they look inflight, this could go wrong . The feet are coming off, and the genestealer claws are taking their place. I've gone for the ribbed CSM body, because I feel it goes with the wings. The gargoyle tail from the main body is gona be cut off and used to fill the gap between the wings at the back.
Wish me luck Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok here we go.
First I've cut up the legs at the hip, and positioned them to they hang straight down.
the feet have been removed for the claws to go.
The wings have been glued in place with the tail. The wings had to be bent back so they met up with the tail, then glued at the tail to hold in position. Gs will be used to fill the gap.
In this photo you can see the legs sweep backwards, so he looks like mid flight.
With weapons now, the ears are gone, because I decided to drop the head
Now I'm working on the claws, the genestealer claws are perfect for this job.
Taking a break for a bit, then will be right back on it.
20018
Post by: Hyenajoe
This, my friend, is turning from "awesome" to "epic"!
Your jump pack is absolutely great (the tail is a nice addition), and the claws/feet are really going to give your model a dangerous look.
Will some of your raptors have their legs and claws positioned as if it's landing on a victim ?
33159
Post by: tipios
Yes, I'm gona try different pose for each 1.

I might just use this head for the aspiring champion or lord with jet pack. I want a head which has a mouth like the gargoyle's, but their heads are way to big. Any sugestions would be appreciated

Post by: Hyenajoe
You mean something like this?
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/142878-Chaos%20Lord%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines.html
It's an old raptor champion head, and I was lucky to find one.
Yet you can try to work on some hornless CSM heads (the skull faces for example) remove the cables on the cheeks and GS some kind of beak. What do you think?
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks for that Hyena, but I am now thinking of this head.
http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=21_26_134&products_id=2087
I want a toothy look, so may have to try your GS idea

Post by: Hyenajoe
That's a good looking head, it would be just fine for your raptor.
That's a shame all the possessed heads are not as good as this one.
33159
Post by: tipios
Thats right, it seems GW was a bit lazy when making them, just threw them together.
33159
Post by: tipios
I've put that possessed head in position, to confirm it suits the model. Which I think it does.
Only thing I nees to wait for is people to get in stock, the torsos that I want, and these heads.
Now I just need to decide which shoulder pads to use.
20018
Post by: Hyenajoe
It looks absolutely great!
About the shoulderplates, you should go for those with thin edges from the regular CSM or Possessed kits.
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks Hyena. pads ready.
I have orderd more heads, 1 flamer, more chainswords, left and right SM power fist for aspiring champion claw conversion, but havn't got any more of the same bodies yet. While I wait I will be making the rest of the jump packs, and legs.
33159
Post by: tipios
Update with second raptor WIP
This one is posed as coming in for the kill, as requested by Hyenajoe
I'm still waiting for possessed torsos like the one I used on the first raptor.
The genestealer claws have worked out really well, and the gargoyle wings are fantastic.
Next one will have a flamer.
The 2 so far.

Those Raptors look sweet man. I was thinking the other day about possibly building an aerial diorama with raptors fighting Sanguinary Guard (I just wanted an excuse to get some Sanguine cos they look cool) but I wasn't sure how to pose the raptors but I like what you have done here so it could happen eventually.

Oh my, how come I missed those Raptors?!? They look even better than the GW ones!!!

Only thing, I personally don't like this Possessed head, but that's just personal taste...
Keep up the good work!

Post by: tipios
@killmaim - thanks, I though I would have to cut the legs in 2 places to get the effect I was looking for, but it turns out 1 cut is enough, so it is a fairly easy conversion, and well worth the effort,
@hyena - thanks for the suggestion, I was gona do them in different flying poses, but the coming into attack pose was a gret idea
@Yggdrasil - Thanks, keep your eyes open Seems that each person has a different possessed head they like, which is a good thing.

Also, you're raptors are too awesome! Like Yggrasil, the best part for me is the feets, when I saw them I was like "What the....why can't GW release feet like that....IN PLASTIC?!"
I would consider having the second raptor pointing his gun forward, he looks abit defenceless and non aggresive right now
Btw, did you use simple metal wire for the legs? I've been wanting to make a sorcerer that hangs in the air with his feet down, but I can't seem to get it right (here's a atempt I made but scraped, wasn't pleased with anything -.-' http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/107972-Sorcerer%20WIP.html?m=2 How about some pointers since you're the god of chaos conversions ;P)

Thanks Limbo.
I will see if a straight bolter arm works
Your first attemt at that sorcerer is not bad at all, and I like the pose alot. One thing that will help with the feet, is to hollow out the bottom of the leg like I have done then GS in the foot, personlly I think that is alll that is wrong with what you have done.. Did you not pin the leg first? because you are right about the metal wire. My next pose is going to be the raptor taking off, and one leg will be pointing straight. I will take more detailed shots of that leg for you

Now a quick TUT of the legs pose, with normal feet, to help Limbo finnish his cool looking sorcerer
First carefully cut out the foot.
Then add a pin.
Now you can pose the foot at any angel you want.
Now cut the leg into section.
Carefully cut into the only the joints of the leg without touching the armour.
Now you can pin the leg parts.

I love your work Tipios and I LOVE your autocannon with the chain! Just a question, what kind of stores do you buy those small chains?
33159

@hyena - when you finish your dread and daemonettes, you'll need another project
@limbo - well when you have sorted school out I expect the sorcerer to be finished as dakka homework
@bunnygurl - thanks bunnygurl, but as you painting is so good, the next level for you is convert your own stuff, and I have faith that you will be able to do it when the time comes
@ Muppas - The chains for the autocannon were bought from hobbycraft in the UK, but I have noticted in some jewellery accessory stores you can buy jewellery with these chains cheaper.

I tried making a conversion once, a couple months ago actually. Man was that a flop. I find I just don't have the drive to convert, kinda like people who play the game but don't wanna paint. Maybe when I get my pile down I'll grab some GS (that might've been my problem last time as I didn't use any) and give it another go. But you'll have to promise to help as I'll have no idea what I'll be doing. Koo?

@blackhand - thanks the aspiring chanpion is gona be perched on something, not sure what yet.
@bra' tac - thanks, the termie head is gona be a lord with jump pack head.
Here's pic of the legs I've just done, but with claws on.
I started this sorcerer ages ago, so I thought I'd take some pics, and see what you thought.
I started a robe, which needs finishing. I chose the tau legs because I wanted the feet to look a bit daemony.
It's a grey night's arm with a chaos nurgle knights shoulder.

Post by: BLACKHAND
Sorceror's cool, really nice helmet. Legs are a bit short though, since you are GS'ing a robe anyway I would suggest cutting and extending them.

I agree with Blackhand, the sorceror's legs are too short. Otherwise, it's a great conversion!

Love the raptors! I was going to try something like this, but I was going to make my own wings 'cause it's cheaper!
but I don't like how they came out, so I'm going to try my hand at scratch building Pre-Heresy style jet packs and chaosify them.
I want to try repositioning the legs like you did, but most of my models are old metal ones, and will take considerably more work to do...I'll most likely still try...I don't seem to like to do anyhting that is easy!
Thanks for the inspiration! Keep up the awesome!
33159
Post by: tipios
@RSjake - I have to say the job you have done on the wings is fantastic, if you just make thewing span a bit bigger and add them the pre heresy jumpack, they will look awesome
33713
Post by: RSJake
Thanks! I had been thinking of making the wings out of GS, that might look better, and yes bigger, they need to be bigger...the one shown was made out of paper, with paperclips for support, and toilet paper for the "fingers". GS would definately be more detailed. I've started on the Jet Packs, but I might save those for a Pre Heresy World Eaters army I want to do. We'll see!
Also, I have to say all of your work is top notch! I love all the demon heads on the weapons!

Well I've seen you GS skills on your world eaters, and other cool suff, so I know you can do it

I gotta get to work on this!
Have a great weekend! Hopefully I'll post some progress on these guys monday in my Raptor thread! Thanks for the ideas!

Just thought of an alternative for your sorceror arm . You could try the possessed arm with the flame coming off of it. Its a left arm that sticks out like the one you have sculpted or you culd just chop the flame part off and use that with your arm.
20018
Post by: Hyenajoe
I think that with some GS, this test arm would be just fine, the problem of the posessed arm is its lack of hand from where the energy bolts would spring.
The flamer raptor is great too.
33159
Post by: tipios
I'm gona stick with this arm, and I have moved the thumb over, also I want to cut the fingers and spread them apart too. I may have to GS fingers in if it goes wrong.

Very useful "marine legs repositioning" tutorial you made! Will check it out next time I'll reposition any of my marines legs! On top of that, your work on your CSM are really nice! A little notion about your sorcerer though (which gets more awesome for every update) is that it might benefit from having it's legs a little bit extended. I believe it might give him a more superior or majestic look.
33159
Post by: tipios
@killmaimburn - thanks, on the dreads, I'm just doing GS filling work on the slaanesh, and more on his mouth. More pics soon.

Thanks guys,
Oh, I think I may have put myself under a bit of pressure with the robe thing

That lightning is awesome! As for your dredclaw and your abilty for conversion, have you even noticed how much a plastic Dr. Pepper bottle looks liike a dredclaw or drop pod? It might take too much work to make it look really good, but if anyone could do it, you could! Just an idea, I was going to work on something like that, but I have so many unfinished projects I'll never get around to it!
33159

That is an intrestind idea, "what's the worst that can happen" and wouldn't cost much even just to try.

Any updates? I do have a question for you Tipios. I really like your Havoc with the Autocannon, but I don't have thos bits...do you think it would look bad to use a Reaper autocannon that I ripped off of a metal terminator for a Havoc? Or should I use something else? Thanks! Look forward to seeing more stuff!

Post by: BLACKHAND
Hey RSJake, I didn't have an autocannon either so I tried this http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/194553-.html its a SM Heavy Bolter with an IG Sentinel Autocannon barrel sorry for the thread hijack Tipios!
33159
Post by: tipios
No problem Blackhand, it's a great conversion idea, did you think of putting a daemon head on the end?
I think RSjake wants to build his with out buying any more bitz than he has.
@RSjake - I think that could work, I have one at home, I will look at it tonight and give you my idea of how you could do it, unless you have already done it
33713
Post by: RSJake
@ Blackhand, yeah, I don't have the plastic heavy bolters or the IG autocannon bits, but I have to admit, those do make great looking Marine autocannons! I have old metal guns and models that I want to use for my Chaos Marines...I'll most likely invest in newer plastic or resin models and bits when I start my Pre-Heresy World Eaters!
@ Tipios, I haven't started on the Autocannon yet, what I have, I hacked off of a metal Chaos Terminator...I used the shoulder pad and upper arm for an Obliterator conversion. My question is, would leaving both barrels be ok, or should I chop off the lower barrel and move the support with bayonet up? I made a crude example on MSPaint...
I do of course have some of those sweet gargoyle heads on order from Hoard-o-bits on ebay! And thanks for the all of your inspiration and advice! ...And any updates in the future? And sorry for the thread-jack!

The sorcerer is evolving nicely! The lightening looks cool!
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks C0un7
@rsjake - I would say chop it up, it makes it more unique, and nobody can moan at you that Havocs don't have twin linked autocannon. Did you lose the orignal hand when you cut it off? It's gona look really cool
33713
Post by: RSJake
Thanks, I was leaning that way, just wanted to get your opinion, I'll have to do some sculpting over the bottom ejection port, but that's do-able. I don't think the hand is usable...like a moron I used cutting pliers instead of a hacksaw...the skull on the spike is ok though! Thanks again! I'll see if I can get a mock-up worked on in the near future!

BACK but missing my 1mm pining drill bit:(
So much to finish so I thought the first thing I should do now that I have access to a work space, is start a new project
It's a Tzeentch Terminator Lord. I love the grey knight armour, so had to try it. I plan to replace the writing with piping. Head needs more adjusting, to fit further back in the body. I've got Termie lord legs on order, and the arms are th greyknight termie ones that has both hands holding the lance. The lance will then become a chaos staff. I wanted to pin these on, but need to buy new 1mm drill bit first, so will show later.
Next, wings will be fitted, they are the Dark Eldar scourge feathered wings. They are very nicely detailed, and I think suit the tzeentch theme. Again had to hold in place because lost my drill:( and can't pin them, also can't even find any blu- tac in the flat. WTF going shopping tomo, for many 1mm drill bits and blu- tac
More updates soon

Post by: Hyenajoe
Good start!
Mixing the GK torso with chaotic elements is a very good idea for a sorceror lord, and the wings are a nice touch.
this head is really good looking without the horns, I will probably use the same for my Thousand Sons termies
Are you going to replace the horns by something else?
I hope you'll enjoy your new workspace! (mine's still the dinning table )
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks joe
I was gona smooth the head down nice and round like my termie with the reaper, but as he is a lord I might try and add some different horns that will fit through the gaps. If they fit then thats what he will get
My work space is still the diinner table, but I must clean it up more often than I use to lol!

Nice terminator, I was planning to use Grey Knights to make my Thousand Sons terms.
I like the wings idea, cant copy it though so I now need to think of something else to give them a bit of bling lol

Got blutac, and mocked up the lord. I think I'm gona try to add trophy rack but not sure.

Tried the greyknight SM back with chaos SM front, they don't line up:(, so need a bit of work.

Your lord looks fantastic!
I'm not sure for the trophy rack (wings + trophy rack = too much)
33159
Post by: tipios
Agreed joe, that would be too much.
Got the staff done today.
I plan to add bolter to the left arm, the same way the GK have their's
Here's a quick mock up of chaos front with GK back.
Not sure yet how this is gona go.
Any thoughts welcome

Love the Tzeentch Terminator Lord!!!
As for the GK back, how does it look up front? That's what should be interesting IMHO...

Thanks Yggdrasil
Here's from the front, dosn't look that affective, I have another GK back that has a higher peice behind the head. I will try that.

Agreed, the CSM head looks too big for the GK "Psychic Hood" to be visually effective... Nice idea though!

SOme interesting conversion work here for sure!
I'm in like sin to follow this thread
33159
Post by: tipios
Thanks Logg frogg,
Here's some more sin action for you
Got the termie lord legs, would have had them earlier, but they were left out of my bitz order.
Reduced the size of the bolter, cut off the barrels so I can add my own. Got that idea from looking at Lamby's blog, he has done a wicked termie conversion, check it our http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/90/352980.page#3051247
I need to cut out the writing on his chest to add pipping, not sure how yet, don't want to reck it.
Should I keep the book on the front, or try something else??
39666
Post by: GiraffeX
tipios wrote:Should I keep the book on the front, or try something else??
As a Tzeentch lord I'd keep the book as it's very in theme, I'm going to keep the books on mine when I do a full unit of Tzeentch Terminators using the Grey Knight bodies.
Your lord is looking really nice.

As for the Chaos Lord, he seems abit "clean" for a Tzeenth lord atm, have you thought about adding some more mutations? Or perhaps the souls-in-shoulderpad you can see on the GW homesite?
17710

Great job! He looks massive & brutal, not something we're quite used to for Tzeentchian characters, but you cannot mistake it for any other thing so that's perfect for me!

@Yggdrasil - Thanks glad you like it I think I need to read up on tzeentchain stuff.
@two spartan - Thanks after the little friendly competiton we are having, I can get on and finish them. Thet are now going to be nightlords like my comp entry, so by then I should have learnt how I want to paint the wings. I really like Finnan's work http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/600/269370.page#3079358 these are awesomely painted wings. Wow! Awesome start on this NMM staff, I wish I could do something like that! Did you use the same paints as for the IW dread?
I bet the sorcerer will be great too!

Yes it is the same paints, but then went up to sun yellow, then started adding bleached bone. Then when back over in places with sepia wash, to get it darker again. All the paints were watered down about 1:7, so each layer was like a glaze.
I still need to do the highest highlights, then I need to make the eye glow, finally I can try Yggdrasil's glow TUT
Then I need to finish the rest of the model lol!

The Pimp my Wizard dude looks good too, but a little too thin for a Space Marine IMHO...

More work with the new airbrush.
Justed used this steath suit to practice on. Now that I've got proper thinners from vallejo, I've had no problems with clogging when spraying.
With the duel control airbrush, it's very easy to get close. I'm happy that I was able to spray this SM head without too much over spray.
So undercoated the termie lord.

Even more horns!!!! I like your style I will see if any more will fit.
I made a big mistake today, I was too lazy to get the light while spraying. Only had the livingroom light on. So I could not se the colour properly. Thus sprayed the torso too much, losing the blend I wanted.
Legs are ok.
Will a wash help, or should I spray darker colour again?

I need to get a light box or something. Taken pictures and trying to get the colours to look the same as in real life is a pain!!
Anyway I want to do a wash. I've seen many vids where people are using oil washes, after they airbush a figure. The oil wash seems to go into the edges better. When I use a black vallejo wash, it all seems to go wrong. Can I ad something to the wash that makes it go into the edges more?

Ther Terminator Lord is looking great, tipios. The blue looks good, and I really like the metallics and the bones. Great stuff.
I get why you want a light box (I need to get one, too), but I really like the second picture where the wings are blurred in the backgrpund.
On oil washes, my understanding is that, since they dry slowly, you can go back and wipe off the stuff you don't want on the model. I know Meph uses them on his Blood Angels. Here's his description of how to use oil washes.

@skalk - thanks a lot
@limbo - Thanks too It is base coat Vallejo 'charred brown' then a 2:1 mix of 'charred browm' and 'plague browm' that was thinned down with water about 6 water to paint. Then just layered up where I though light might hit it. I still need to go over the left leg more, then I think a mix of 1:1 charred and plague brown thinned down again, to make it a bit brighter on the edges.

I'm waiting for oil paint to make a wash for my chaos termi lord, and also waiting fof stuff to dry on my river base for the deff dread, So thought this would be good to pass the time with.

Flames need touch up though. Other side looks alright, but the photo I took has got massive shine on it and you can't see anything. Will retake after finishing more detail.

More details and a wash of sepia in places.
I've done the main flames in brown, I was going to go over in red, but I like the way it looks now.

Those freehand flames are beautiful mate. Great to see you back in action.
On a totally unrelated note, I had this crazed idea that I'd love to see, and thought of you: a powerfist with hazard stripe knuckles. That make sense?

Ha, thanks Skalk! I was going for a darker look, so the armour highlights didn't go up to orange on the reds.

Thanks Graven! I spend a couple of hours practicing before I tried on this model. The Hawk is really giving me trouble. I'll have to put pics of practice to show the pain
I can do powerfist with Hazard stripes do you need?

Flames on the chain sword would look good buddy! Although I would probably do them inverted colour wise like the backpack vents. Probably a pita now youve painted the base of the weapon anyway.

Thanks Skalk, luckly it's up to yellowbeard to paint his army with this level of attention, this is just my entry to his comp Madness has set in anyway

Thanks graven. Yes OSL has gone wrong so needs touching up, or going over again:(
I thought I'd show stages of the hawk attempt.

I have changed it a bit. It's so you can see it more clearly from a distance. Or do you think I should stick to first one?

Wow. That's wicked. You really stepped up on your painting for sure. I just went to look at a CSM, to hold in my hand. It's easy to critique something when it is 5X or larger. In 'real scale' that amount of freehand detail is amazing. Very well done.

Base started!
33159
Post by: tipios
Onto the cloak.
First I cut a square piece of of GS. Pinned it to one side then pulled it round to the other. Left arm helps hold it in place.
While the GS goes off I've place it over my shapers, to help it form the ripples.
As the GS cures more, I started curling it up.
It takes a lot of patience to keep moving the GS around while it hardens so it stays the way you want it.

Thanks YB, yes it's GS and took about 2 hours I thin. Whats this Aluminum goil, have you any links? Oh wait maybe it's foil?

tipios wrote:]Thanks YB, yes it's GS and took about 2 hours I thin. Whats this Aluminum goil, have you any links? Oh wait maybe it's foil?
Yes, aluminum FOIL. Stupid iPad.
Can't seem to find the example right now, but the idea is that you cut a piece of foil and then spread GS on it. The foil gives you a flexible base to hold the GS, which you can then bend and shape as you want. When the GS cures, you peel off the foil, and you have your cloak, etc.
33159
